Railway Blockade on Unceded Nitassinan (Saguenay)

Wednesday evening, a collective of Indigenous and settler activists blocked the Roberval-Saguenay railroad belonging to the multinational corporation Rio Tinto in solidarity with the National Committee for First Peoples’ Rights which is paralyzing for a third consecutive day the railroad line located at the border of Labrador and Schefferville, which is used by the mining company Tata Steel. The solidarity blockade lasted one hour. These actions have the objective of reminding the governments that the members of the Indigenous communities in this country will no longer accept any compromises regarding criminal acts committed against them.

In recent years we have been experiencing a generalised attack on the neighbourhood of Exarcheia, with squat evictions, clearing operations and the attempt to impose a regime of police occupation on the neighbourhood.At the present time this attack is intensifying, with the assistance of Attiko Metro and the attempt to build a metro station in the square. The choice of the square for the construction of the station is a political and ideological choice of the municipal authority and the state, part of the broader strategy that has been expressed explicitly in recent years in the state’s counterattack against Exarcheia, a neighbourhood where resistance and struggle against exploitation and oppression has been territorialized both symbolically and practically.

The choice of the metro station in Exarcheia square is not based on the needs of the inhabitants for their movements – it could not be, as under the condition of class domination our movements are defined and organised in the metropolis by the state as the transport of the commodity work force. The choice of the station in the square is not based on the neighbourhood’s desires for the use of public/open space, but against them, seen as another opportunity to deploy hundreds of cops in the neighbourhood with the intention of destroying its only square, meeting place and political activity and handing it over to the interests of capital. Investigation opened after the arson of two armored vehicles of the army

The fire broke out on Sunday morning in the Westerring area along the N60 in Oudenaarde, near the OIP company. Two wheeled armored vehicles – 6×6 Piranha IIIC DF30, i.e. equipped with a 30 mm gun – were set on fire. OIP, a subsidiary of the Israeli multinational Elbit Systems, manufactures electro-optical systems, such as goggles and other day and night vision instruments.

The fire was quickly brought under control, but the two armored vehicles were burned. No one was injured, only property damage was reported. The inscription “Shut Elbit Down” was written on the walls of the company.

Koufontinas and G. Michailidis, they are ready to let prisoners die rather than give in one step. We know the videos of the lynching of Zak Kostopoulos with the participation of police officers. As well as the execution of N. Sampanis in Perama by DIAS is an expression of a ruthless regime, as is the murder of Vassilis Maggos in Volos. The blood drips from the hands of the Greek authorities.

The new junta thinks it is smart to use the August vacation period to start building the metro station in Exarchia. Their goal is to destroy every social base and occupy every place of resistance with troops. Revolutionary anarchist solidarity is a mutual relationship that indispensably requires a clear and decisive war positioning of the prisoners and milieus in affinity outside. Starting from this basis, this week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners goes to fortify such a relationship upheld in the clash, which is nothing other than the existing complicity that attacks any expression of authority.

Ending assistentialism and victimism means ceasing to see prisoners as a subject who is unaccountable during their temporary condition of confinement. The anarchist comrade Boris has been in prison in nancy maxéville since september 2020 for sabotaging two 5G** relay antennas during the first lockdown. He had been in prison for almost a year when, on the morning of August 7, 2021, a fire broke out in his cell. Boris was hospitalized in Metz hospital, then in the intensive care unit of Besançon hospital. He is currently in the palliative care department of the same hospital.
