Genoa, Italy: conference interrupted at the French embassy

Genoa : conference interrupted at the French embassy

Friday 7th October in Genoa a conference at the Alliance Française, organized by the Institut Française, the French Embassy in Italy and the University of Studies of Genoa was interrupted with banners, interventions and leaflets in solidarity with the anarchists Vincenzo Vecchi and Claudio Lavazza, explaining their specific repressive conditions.

Given that the cycle of conferences concerns the future of democracies, the protection of rights and minorities, citizens’ mobilisations, the role of the Italian and French democracies in racist policies and the closure of borders; in direct participation in the wars of aggression of the last twenty years was recalled, from Afghanistan to Libya or in actively supporting the arming of Ukraine; in the repression of social conflict, through the European Arrest Warrant, showing the mutual solidarity that democracies maintain when it comes to repressing those who struggle.

The mountain and the little mouse (Lecce, Italy)

The mountain and the little mouse

At dawn on Thursday, September 29, a dozen or more policemen showed up at a comrade’s home with a search warrant for the crime of defacement, which a public prosecutor of the Lecce court had no shame in signing. Having ascertained that only the suspect was present, they decided to send the flying squad officers away to stay only six of the DIGOS, looking for clothing and spray cans. In addition to the house, they also searched his car, a moped and a house in another municipality to which the comrade had easy access. In fact, in addition to a helmet, a jacket and the latest copy of ‘Vetriolo’, which were returned to the owner at the police headquarters, they decided to seize a pair of boots and three stickers in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito, because, according to them, they were very much related to the wall writings they were investigating.

This is how we begin to unravel the skein of so much investigative diligence for such a crime; a DIGOS inspector, in fact, informed the suspect that the investigation concerns the wall writings that appeared in Calimera (in the province of Lecce) on September 8 (we learn this from journalistic sources because the report says September 18) during the organized ‘week of legality’ on the occasion of the commemorations for the anniversary of the Capaci massacre, in which a Calimera citizen who was part of the escort also lost his life.

Mering (Germany): summer sabotage of rail traffic

Mering : summer sabotage of rail traffic

On the night of Sunday, July 31 to Monday, August 1, 2022, between 9:00 pm and 3:00 am, the cable shaft of the signal box in Mering (Bavaria) was deliberately set on fire. Many regional trains between Munich and Augsburg were cancelled for 48 hours. The attack also severely disrupted long-distance ICE and Intercity trains from Nuremberg, Ulm and Stuttgart – all of which passed through this important rail hub – causing long delays and cancellations.

According to a Deutsche Bahn (DB) spokesperson, who had to justify the late return to normal operation, it is caused by burned cables along the tracks: “About 15 cables, each containing more than 500 wires, were affected and had to be replaced. These cables control, among other things, the signals along the line and important functions of the Mering signal box.”

Pittsburgh (United States): cop cars torched

Pittsburgh, cop cars torched

Last September 28 in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) around 2:30 am, three large police cars were destroyed. They were casually sitting in front of the police training center, along North Lincoln Avenue in the northern part of the city, when they were deliberately set on fire by unknown perpetrators.

Firefighters who arrived on the scene were unable to do anything, and according to “an expert” widely quoted in U.S. newspapers, the number of attacks on police vehicles is even on the rise in Pittsburgh since 2018, “straining the relationship between law enforcement and the people they are supposed to protect.” Go figure…

Another war is possible by prisoner anarchist Thanos Hatziangelou (Greece)

Another war is possible

Political statement by the imprisoned member of Anarchist Action on the necessary building of a revolutionary blockade against the imperialist movements of the warmongering transnational formations.

In politics there are so many truths as there are lies. Statements and analyses built on the foundations of the subjectivity of the interests they defend. Since the very first moment of the powers of russian expansionism invading the territories that previously belonged to the Ukrainian sovereignty, countless analyses of the causes and conditions of the military intervention have been recorded. Geostrategic analyses, articles in political and financial columns, and even philosophical texts record the narrative of what is happening in the present time at the behest of each narrator. Our truth espaces from the mouth of the victims of this conflict: this is not war, this is politics (statement of a Russian refuser of conscription in a conscription office).

Russia invading Ukranian territory is a conflict with national and imperialist characteristics without any class orientation. A war that, no matter the winner, will once again find the internation proletariat defeated in history, regardless of the nationalistic heads that its tyranny serves. Russia is building up a rival awe towards the Euro-Atlantic Alliance, the world community condemns the war by applying trade sanctions, white at the same time it supports with material equipemnts and regarding manpower the ukranian troops.

Red paint on the facade of the Ukrainian Embassy ( Prague,Czech Republic)

Red paint on the facade of the Ukrainian Embassy

The Ukrainian Embassy in Prague was heavily stained with red paint on the morning of 5 October 2022. It is an angry message to the Ukrainian state, which is needlessly sacrificing people in a war that they do not want to participate in. It is impossible to stand silently by as Zelensky and his government deny the people the opportunity to choose to leave the shelled country and not bleed for the interests of the bourgeoisie.

This action was taken in solidarity with the people affected by the war, all deserters, conscientious objectors and those who sabotage the war machine. Behind this act of solidarity are the same attitudes that were expressed in the Manifesto of the Internationalists Against Capitalist War and Peace in Ukraine…

Report of the initiative at the DNAA, ‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’ (Rome, Italy, September 30, 2022)

Report of the initiative at the DNAA, ‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’ in Rome September 30, 2022)

On Friday, September 30, the announced mobilization took place near the Direzione Nazionale Antimafia e Antiterrorismo (‘National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate’, DNAA) in Rome. We were in the square, and we will be there again, to shout our opposition to the current repressive turn, which hits the anarchist movement with particular vehemence. A tightening that has become explicit in recent months with the heavy 28-year sentence for Juan Sorroche, accused of the attack on the headquarters of the Lega in Villorba (Treviso, 2018), with the reclassification as “political massacre” of the charge against comrades Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino for the explosive attack against the carabinieri barracks in Fossano (Cuneo, 2006), with the trickle of repressive operations, special surveillance and other police measures, as well as the seizure of anarchist books and papers, and the closure of counter-information websites.

In particular, the DNAA is directly responsible for the transfer of the anarchist Alfredo Cospito to 41 bis prison regime. An almost total isolation regime, designed with the declared aim of annihilating the prisoner in order to induce him to cooperate. An unprecedented decision as far as imprisoned anarchists are concerned, marking a turning point in the war between the State and anarchism, but one that has already been used for years against some prisoners of the organization Brigate Rosse per la costruzione del Partito Comunista Combattente (BR-PCC). The DNAA, more generally, plays a coordinating and strategic role for the counterrevolution in Italy.

Belarus: Hunger strike of Ihar Alinevich – what is known now

Ihar Alinevich , an anarcho-partisan sentenced to 20 years for participating in the Belarusian uprising, went on hunger strike. Members of the Anarchist Black Cross collected the latest information about Igor from the Facebook of his mother Valentina Alinevich and from his close friends. Here’s what we were able to find out.

On October 5, Ihar’s lawyer tried to get to him, but did not. He will try to get to him next week. According to unconfirmed reports, Ihar is still in the penal cell, where he was visited by the prosecutor. It is very difficult to get any information about Ihar. Even his mother has not been able to see her son for years; there is no way to get in touch with him by phone; all letters are censored and often do not reach him at all. It may be difficult for foreigners to understand this, but if the country is “out of touch with the laws,” then information can be quite scarce.

Ihar’s hunger strike and demands

Ihar began his hunger strike on September 19. The exact demands are not known for certain, but apparently the last straw was a report on his placement in a punishment cell. Prior to that, he had sent complaints to higher authorities about the arbitrariness of the prison administration, but received no response. Therefore, Ihar suggests that these complaints did not leave the prison at all.

Graz (Austria): anti-militarist attack against a Mercedes supplier

Graz, anti-militarist attack against a Mercedes supplier

Translated from German via Sozialer Zorn, 18 August 2022
(via Autonomous Blättchen #50)

On August 18th we sabotaged the factory of Magna Steyr, supplier of Mercedes in Graz. To do this, we opened the cable shafts next to the railroad tracks leading to the company’s site, and then we set fire to them. Mercedes G-class SUVs are assembled at this site.

Mercedes-Benz sells its jeeps to the super-rich as well as to state armies. Mercedes is part of the dual civil-military industry and profits from the continuous destruction of the ecosystem. This action is an encouragement to attack the war industry as well as those responsible for the destruction of the earth.

Munich (Germany): burning upstream fiber optic installers

Munich : burning upstream fiber optic installers

Translated from German via Sozialer Zorn, July 25, 2022
(excerpts from the local press)

On Sunday night, July 25, at about 3:00 a.m., flames several meters high suddenly rose into the dark sky in the Obersendling district of southern Munich: five trucks, five trailers and an excavator of the BTP construction company burned down on its site, which is used as a logistics and storage center for several construction sites in the city.

According to the police, traces found at the scene indicate that it was an arson attack, and the damage is estimated at two million euros. The damage to two 7.5-ton trucks, three 3.5-ton trucks, an excavator and five trailers, plus construction equipment and machinery destroyed by the fire, already amount to more than one and a half million euros. In addition, 25 reels of fiber optic cable were burned to a crisp and 10 large rolls of cable and sheathing worth well over 200,000 euros.
