About the murder of Kostas Fragoulis

On 13/12 it was announced that Rom Costas Fragoulis is now dead. On5/12, after 16 year old Kostas refused to pay 20 euros for petrol, he was chased by DIAS cops, who shot him with 2 bullets in the head. Before we even knew about his final state of health and while the family wasn’t receiving any information either, the cop killers were already set free.

This murder unfortunately does not catch off guard, as we do not forget the murder of another Rom, Nikos Sambanis in October 21 with 38 bullets in the back of the head, where once again the killers were pampered by the bourgeois “justice”.

Roma communities vehemently refuse to adapt to the norms created by Greek capitalism. And rightly so! In any case, the only “efforts” of the state to include them in the social fabric and remove their marginalization are to fit them into its molds, to “civilize” them and use them as cheap labor, as it does with all social groups that do not conform to the dominant model. When it has no need for this, it feeds their ignorance in a whole host of ways, culminating in the murder of a child for which it will not budge.

The message “whoever can’t adapt, dies” is now clear from the state’s side and is being transmitted every day. Whether it is the daily oppression and ghettoisation, the criminalization of the Roma, or the shooting of the Roma, Greek society has been educated in the narrative that the Roma are less than human and therefore deserve all this. That’s why we see people applauding the cops who killed Kostas, just like they did in the case of Sambanis. That’s why the Roma communities have taken the whole struggle for vindication on their backs; and one shouldn’t have to wonder how and why.

Enijoy car fires in Milan

On the night of January 30th, several Enijoy cars were damaged with fire in response to Alfredo’s transfer from Sassari prison to that of Milan. This is the first action claimed, but not the first carried out, by the BANDE ANARCHICHE – NUCLEO GUERRIGLIA [‘Anarchist Bands – Guerrilla Nucleus’]. One of our comrades will die at the hands of the state, it’s our turn to take the leap. Fire to the prisons.

Bologna: From a cell in 41 bis an anarchist is making a State tremble – Leaflet given out at the gathering on February 3rd

Written February 5th 5, 2023

We receive and publish the leaflet distributed on Friday 3 February during the gathering, then demonstration, that moved from the Regional Penitentiary Administration Department to the juvenile prison.
In late afternoon of Friday 3 February in Bologna, a protest was held outside the headquarters of the Regional Penitentiary Administration Office, with noise, speakers and banners in solidarity with Alfredo against life imprisonment without appeal and 41 bis. Surrounded by a barrage of cops and journalists, a hundred or so comrades then moved along Via del Pratello where a large writing read ‘No 41 bis. Like Iran and Egypt, Italy also tortures and condemns to death’. The demonstration ended outside the juvenile prison where there were repeated riots in December. Alongside Alfredo! Let’s keep coming out into the streets!

From a cell of 41 bis an anarchist is making a State tremble!

Alfredo Cospito, along with 749 other prisoners, is buried deep in the dungeons of the 41bis regime. And it is precisely from the most hidden place in which the State’s vengeance against its most bitter enemies is carried out that he began his struggle: since 20 October 2022, he has been on an unremitting hunger strike against the 41bis regime and life imprisonment without appeal, i.e. the hard prison regime and life imprisonment without access to alternative sentences.

These two prison institutions are the clearest and most straightforward expression of what the State is: power ruled by institutionalised violence and vengeance.

Traffic disrupted at the Gare de l’Est in Paris after a fire caused by a “malicious act”.
France Info/France 3 Grand Est/Le Parisien, January 24, 2023

Bad surprise for SNCF users. The traffic at the Gare de l’Est in Paris will be interrupted “all day” following a “fire of electrical cables”, announced Tuesday, January 24, which had initially expected a resumption at 10 hours. The Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, and the SNCF have denounced an “act of malice” in a signal box that has caused the total interruption, at the departure and arrival of the Parisian station of the traffic of TGV and TER, as well as the line P of the Transilien.

Around 8:30 am, the SNCF said that it was an act of deliberate vandalism: “The act of malice is proven: a deliberate fire on the sheaths of electrical power supply cables of signaling and switching facilities is the cause of the interruption of traffic. The diagnosis is still underway,” reads the page dedicated to the incident. “There was an act of deliberate vandalism,” confirmed Anne-Marie Pannier, head of SNCF Réseaux in Ile-de-France, who said that SNCF gutters were opened and 48 cables located inside were burned.” The consequences are that all the signaling stations no longer receive quality and reliable information that is required to run trains safely on the network,” explained Anne-Marie Pannier late this morning.

The Twitter page of Line P reports “a fire in a technical room in the Vaires sector” (Seine-et-Marne) and “a signaling incident” in another sector, with a photo of the cables that burned.

Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) France : Solidarity with the demonstrations against the Lutzerath coal mine!

Solidarity with the demonstrations against the Lutzerath coal mine!
Indymedia Lille, January 22, 2023

On the night of January 19, in Toulouse, near the Demoiselles Bridge, two charging stations for electric cars were burned. We don’t want coal or lithium mines.

These charging stations will increase the need for electricity and the production of new cars, which cannot do without the carbon industry. Nuclear power is therefore not the promise of any transition, but the constant accumulation of industrial resources for a booming energy market. Coal plants reopen in France while they expand in Germany. At the same time, nuclear power gets the green label to impose itself in Europe, and electricity is the pretext for rare earth mining.

Let’s not give in to blackmail: Neither coal nor nuclear! We will only reduce our consumption if we reduce capitalism to a nightmare of the past.

Rest in Power, Tort. Love from Berlin.

On Sunday January 22nd in Berlin, Germany a group of anarchists and comrades from different parts of the world came together to grieve the death of Tort, an indigenous comrade who was killed at the hands of the Atlanta police on Wednesday. A beautiful human who didn’t have to die, but did so fighting for us.

We came together to show comrades in Atlanta and beyond some love, solidarity and strength. We came together to mark this moment in time to honour and mourn Tort, and to connect the struggle in Atlanta to here. The forest occupation in Lützerath Germany, a site of resistance to an open pit coal mine, was evicted days before the heart breaking news of Tort’s murder. We came together to connect these struggles to ecological destruction and state violence world over.

Posters and Agitation in the Streets of Santiago in Response to the International Call for Alfredo Cospito

January 26, 2023

Responding to the international call for mobilization in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito’s hunger strike against the disgusting 41bis and life imprisonment, the early morning of January 25 we went out to walk the streets of the center of the capital with propaganda and paste to spread information about Alfredo’s situation.

We also took advantage of the occasion to agitate for the subversive prisoner Marcelo Villarroel and the anti-speciesist comrades of the Susaron case.

Freedom for Marcelo Villarroel!
Tortu, Ita, Ru and Panda to the streets! No jails or cages!
Alfredo out of 41bis now!

Active Solidarity with Alfredo Cospito from Joaquín García

via: informativoanarquista

Without needing to idealize him, it is inevitable to feel a deep admiration and respect for Alfredo Cospito, who has been able to sustain an extensive hunger strike, using his body as a battlefield, and an unwavering decision in his struggle to end his isolation in the nefarious 41 bis regime in which he has been for many months. For many people, it can be difficult to have a concrete notion of what this means, I think that perhaps our individual experiences bring us a little closer to such a crude reality.

Portland Oregon Solidarity Action With Atlanta and the Atlanta Forest Defenders.(usa)

“On 1/20/23 anarchists in Portland, Oregon went after the UPS shipping center in Portland in retaliation after a comrade was recently murdered by the Atlanta Police.

Anarchists broke somewhere between 10-15 large windows and started multiple small fires within the building. UPS is one of the biggest companies currently donating to the Cop City Project in Atlanta.

On 1/18/23 Atlanta police attempted a raid in the forest that was being protected by forest defenders and once they showed up they opened fire and killed a forest defender.

We want to express our love toward Tortuguita who was also known as Cami, as well as to all their comrades and loved ones.

Vengeance from Oakland – ¡Viva Tortuguita! (usa)

On the night of January 20th 2023, 30 mournful anarchists took vengeful action against our enemies for the murder of Cami/Tortuguita in the Atlanta Forest two days prior. We shattered dozens of windows along the glass facade of a Bank of America building in downtown Oakland, destroyed the ATM’s, and repainted the walls with people’s messages of love, memory, solidarity, and rage at the assassination of our comrade before lighting the place up with molotov cocktails.

Bank of America is an enemy of the people and life itself. They currently fund the construction of cop city in Atlanta, the same project that threatens the forest that Tortuguita died defending. They deserve no place in our landscape. We destroyed quickly but tirelessly. Like the peasants in the Jacquerie, the Luddite wreckers, or the Haitian revolutionaries, we seek liberation in the most obvious way: the destruction of what we know is the cause of our suffering. And if we destroy much, it is because we have suffered much. “Vengeance! Vengeance!” is our war-cry.

Gioacchino Somma: Hic Et Nunc. (Italy)

Hic Et Nunc

Almost one hundred days have passed since the beginning of the hunger strike of the brother and comrade Alfredo Cospito against the regime that has made him prisoner of 41-bis in the Bancali death camp in Sassari [Sardinia].

In these just over three months, it was not only the voices of anarchists all over the world to make themselves heard, but also those of many associations, institutions, media, artists, magistrates, ex-ministers of justice, garantists, etc. etc. Many of these figures are in no way friends or sympathisers of the anarchists and vice versa, at least I hope so…

As I wrote in an earlier text, this is by no means a hunger strike as there have been to date, except for the few that have unfortunately become notorious and led to the death of the persons undertaking it. So it was necessary that in addition to the anarchists there was a need for the many figures mentioned above to raise their voice too, because I consider them to be the only ones who can change the state of affairs regarding the prison condition of Alfredo.

Unlike the mass of leaflets handed out during demos, gatherings and other initiatives these figures enter peoples homes twenty-four hours a day through tv, radio, newspapers with simple words and not philosophical terminology difficult for any citizen to read. They rub the problem in the faces of the authorities by warning them, in the democratic way they like to be told things: “Watch out, we are telling you in advance and have been doing it for a long time”. For the government, the words went in one ear and were pushed out the other; with all the lucidity and willpower that can belong to an executioner on the gallows; in the words of the minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio, where he affirms that Alfredo is in great form and the prohibition of the comrade’s legal doctor to give interviews about the prisoner’s health condition, practically condemning the comrade to death.

Even if he wins this battle of his at the last moment, it is not certain that he will survive for the thousands of reasons explained to us by his medical examiner. Certainly this very long hunger strike will have a massive effect on his body. The government is practically testing Alfredo but also all the anarchists raising the level of the clash. It is testing the coherence, the stuff we are made of.

This time it is not a classic ‘State murder’ as it was for the two anarchist comrades Edoardo Massari and Maria Soledad Rosas; their lives were cut short from one day to the next, against Alfredo there is savagery, daily torture, and all the sadism worthy of any Argentinean, Chilean, Nazi, Stalinist, Islamic dictatorship. Every day they deliver a stab to him almost in defiance of the anarchists saying to them “And so?! Is that all?”

Not that we are discovering today what ‘democracy’ really means, but the significance of the fact that the above-mentioned figures are now calling on the government to remove Alfredo from 41-bis lies precisely in the fact that after a possible death of the comrade they will have to explain to them the meaning of ‘democracy’; that term so beloved that to export it to countries far from the West it needs bombings and wars and within its own borders lagers, torture and State murders.

I would never venture to say how much has been done in solidarity with Alfredo in Italy but I want to look at things from afar, from space, and then I can say that for a comrade they are torturing and killing in their lager we have not done nothing. A few days of clashes with the cops, which are already written on the last page of this sad story, after the possible demise of the comrade, will serve little or no purpose.

We need the ‘Here and Now’!

A new chapter in history of the anarchists in Italy must be opened here and now. What is the point of us doing years in jail and under house arrest just for expressing our ideas on a piece of paper or a website, for a gathering, a demonstration? But do we really want to continue to risk spending years of our lives in State lagers just for the sake of mouthing grand words in the style of Monty Python’s ‘People’s Front of Judea’? From the OCSE of Naples of March 2001 to today, passing above all by the Genova G8, they have massacred us with investigations, trials and arrests; more for expressing our ideas than for direct actions. Do we want to continue enriching our curriculum vitae with more pages of court documents and years in jail just for uttering grand words to make ourselves look good? What life of shit is this? To continue to remain at the mercy of events in the limbo of democratic ‘freedom’ until one day a judge wakes up and decides that you must be kidnapped…

I spit on false democratic freedom!

I have nothing more to lose than the dear life of a brother, a comrade… of Alfredo!

Here and now! Either we make anarchy or we all go home!

Italy: Claim for the attack on the villa of slaughterer Giorgio Del Papa, in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino (Spoleto, January 2023)

Claim for the attack on the villa of slaughterer Giorgio Del Papa, in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito and Anna Beniamino

November 2006. Umbria Olii explodes and four workers die. One of many massacres in the name of profit, in a company known for its devastation of the land. But the arrogance of capital knows no limits and the boss Giorgio Del Papa will go so far as to demand 35 million euros from the families of the victims, accusing them of causing the accident.

The power of money, a huge amount, difficult even to imagine for the workers’ families, some of them migrants. The power of money that will prove to be useful, obtaining the attribution of responsibility on the workers themselves, resulting in the reduction of his sentence to four years.
Hearts full of hate, thinking of our comrades Anna Beniamino and Alfredo Cospito, we decided to give a face, a name, an address to the slogan ‘It is the State that Massacres’.

Because Anna and Alfredo risk life imprisonment for two bombs against the Carabinieri Cadets Barracks in Fossano, on June 2nd 2006, which unfortunately caused neither dead nor wounded. While the true slaughterers, the industrialists, the capitalists, are living it up in their villas.
