I don’t vote

I don’t vote. Because I don’t want to choose a master, to choose the one who will decide for me what is good for me, and will force me to respect his choices, which he will pass off as my own. I don’t want the majority to determine my servitude, for the cattle to build the fences that enclose them and appoint those who will rule me too, no matter what I think.

I don’t vote because I don’t want the world they impose on me, I don’t recognize the idea of nation, of a people, of citizenship, considering that the States always manage to fabricate identities that give the illusion of a unity in a population. Continue reading Poster : I don’t vote (France)

Messina, Sicily – Protest against Mattarella [president of the Italian republic]

Mattarella guarantor of rearmament

NOT IN OUR NAME

On 13th April a celebration for the 50 years of Gazzetta del Sud, where the president of the republic was present, was met with protests in Messina.

After a meeting against war in Piazza Municipio we moved closer to the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele at the start of the celebration, in spite of the fact that the city centre was militarized and the streets adjacent to the theatre were blocked for Mattarella’s arrival.

We tried to oppose this circus of power by unfurling a banner, shouting chants against rearmament and military bases, which are everywhere on the island, and improvising a cacerolazo with pans, bowls and spoons. Police seized the banner and broke the microphone used for speeches after about ten minutes. Continue reading Messina, Sicily – Protest against Mattarella [president of the Italian republic]

Crolles/Bernin (Isère): no immediate return to normal

ST-Microelectronics semiconductor manufacturing unit

[Following the double sabotage on the nights of April 4 and 5 against high-voltage lines, which temporarily shut down the ST-Micro and Soitec semiconductor plants, it seems that the return to normal is not so simple. Here’s a look at some of the articles from the business press].

Grenoble’s Silicon Valley back on line after a fire on its power lines
La Tribune Auvergne-Rhône Alpes, April 6, 2022 (excerpt)

The power outage, caused by a fire on several high-voltage lines that passed over the Brignoud bridge (Isère) on Monday night, was both unprecedented and particularly impactful for the Grésivaudan basin, an area near Grenoble that is home to several major microelectronics companies such as STMicroelectronics and Soitec.

Villard-Bonnot (Isère): sabotage of the production of two semiconductor giants [updated]

Arson of several electric lines in Isère: the hypothesis of a new sabotage
Le Dauphiné/France bleu, 5 April 2022
This Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 1:44 am, a fire of electric cables under the bridge of Brignoud which spans the Isère between Villard-Bonnot and Crolles was declared. Eight 20,000 volt lines and one 225,000 volt line caught fire. A security perimeter has been set up to prevent any risk to the population or the environment. Security services are on site. The fire was completely extinguished during the day.
The fire is reminiscent of the one that affected the ST Micro company in Crolles on Monday, April 4. The link between the two events has been made, announced Eric Vaillant, the Grenoble prosecutor. The research section of the gendarmerie has been informed. This Tuesday morning, smoke was still coming out of the burned cables, the Brignoud bridge being closed to traffic. The gendarmerie has cordoned off the whole area and forbidden access to the bridge, with major traffic jams being recorded in the whole sector.

Froges (Isère): cut the juice to the producer of electronic chips

Fire in Froges on a site of RTE: the company ST Micro targeted, the ultra-left suspected
Le Dauphiné, April 4, 2022
The hypothesis for an act committed by activists of the ultra-left is favored by the investigators of the gendarmerie, learned the Dauphiné Libéré this Monday near the public prosecutor’s office of Grenoble after the destruction by fire committed in the enclosure of a transformer site of RTE (Réseau de transport d’électricité) in Froges.
As we revealed this Monday morning, this site was targeted in the night of Sunday to Monday by incendiaries: unknown people managed to enter the premises and to spread the fire to cables on a transformer. The damage would be important on this site but would not impact the distribution of electricity in the sector at the moment.
Inscriptions including the symbol of anarchy were found, targeting the ST Microelectronics company based in Crolles, accused by these same tags of being an excessive consumer of electricity. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the power supply to the ST Micro site was not significantly disrupted by this action. The research brigade of the Meylan company has been assigned to the investigation.

Greetings outside the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere

Translated by act for freedom now!
———————–
10th of April ,Last Sunday a few dozen trans-feminists in solidarity went to give greetings to those locked up in the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere on the second anniversary of the 6th April 2020 “massacre of the holy week”. Shouts from inside were already rising as we were reaching the spot as near to the windows as possible. Many prisoners looked out of the windows, asking for help and demanding freedom; many shouted about lack of water and inedible food, besides the awful unbearable conditions of life inside. Attempts at talking with them were almost immediately hampered by the prison police’s sirens intended to prevent communication and intimidate the people there in solidarity. From inside some started shouting that we should go, warning us that guards were coming.

June 11, 2022 International Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason & All Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners

As time moves on and the seasons change, we approach once again the June 11th International Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason & All Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners. Another year has passed, and many of our dear comrades remain captives of the state, subject to its daily subjugation, isolation, and brutality. June 11th is a time to stop the ever-quickening rush of our lives and remember.
Remember our imprisoned comrades. Remember our own histories of revolt. Remember the flame – sometimes flickering, sometimes blazing – of anarchism.
WE ARE ALL POTENTIAL PRISONERS
With June 11th, we desire to deepen a critique of prison that challenges the distinction between prisoner and supporter. For us, these differences are conditional: we, as anarchists, see ourselves as potential prisoners. Some of us have been, some of us will be. This is the basis of our solidarity – a recognition of ourselves in the plight of those in prison.

Bristol, UK: Anarchist comrade Toby Shone’s SCPO was rejected by the court!

To the wild celebrations in the public gallery, the presiding judge rejected the application for anarchist comrade Toby Shone’s Serious Crime Prevention Order, declaring there were no grounds for it to be applied under the circumstances. Shouts of ‘Not one step back!’ were responded to with Toby shouting ‘The Revolution is inevitable!’

The result of the court means that comrade Toby will now be released at the earliest in August of this year, if his application for electronic tag is permitted. It is highly likely that it will be refused. If refused, he will be released on December 28th 2022 on automatic halfway release. The extreme conditions of surveillance and control, that would have led to him not only being cut off from his comrades, but his family, friends and partner. It would have restricted his way of living, his ability to fuction as an anarchist, with many conditions that have been listed before, such as his use of electronic devices through to him having to declare who visits his residence. It would have lasted 5 years and could have been renewed. If it had been broken by Toby it would have led to him serving 5 years in the hellholes of the UK prison system. Aliaksandr and Jauhen were arrested on July 29, 2021 and charged with participation in the 2020 protests. Two activists named Artsiom Salavei (namesakes) were detained a week later. While the investigation was going on, the anarchist media collective Pramen and its website and social networks were recognised as an extremist formation. Athens, Greece: Claim of Responsibility / Fire against a company that collaborates with prisons by Anarchists

Claim of Responsibility / Fire against a company that collaborates with prisons

As a small participation in the Easter celebrations, we carried out an arson attack on a KONE car of a multinational company that collaborates with prisons, in Ioustinianou street in Exarcheia on Saturday night 23/4.

The class bias of the judiciary is made clear by a series of cases involving accused businessmen, politicians, cops and fascists, who are put on record, end up with acquittals or short sentences, as opposed to the proletarian accused that are piled up in prisons all over the country for years. Especially in the case of political prisoners with a militant attitude throughout their imprisonment, the demonstrativeness of the State and the authorities unfolds at every opportunity. With special conditions of detention, lengthy procedures, late decisions, interruption of permits, etc., imprisoned comrades are confronted with a system which on the one hand depoliticizes their action and on the other hand creates a regime of exception around them. Athens,Chalandri : Claim of responsibility action at the Court of Justice of Peace (Greece)

Claim of responsibility action at the Court of Justice of Peace(The Magistrate’s Court is a court of first instance in civil cases and is composed of a single Judge, the Magistrate, assisted by the Registrar.)

“Or will they be left only with the stubborn desire to continue on their way and continue to risk themselves and everything else? An impetus perhaps to be tested and so that they may therefore have the courage to tell others that to be tested in this fierce struggle means de facto that you are creating, and therefore living now and not in some glorious future, the freedom that motivates and animates our steps.”

So here we are. At a time when capitalism and market domination, having exhausted the “solutions” to defuse the crises they themselves cause, are choosing to turn to arms once again. Another diffuse conflict between the “superpowers” and capital over the redistribution of the sources of wealth and the readjustment of spheres of influence. At the apparent end of the covid-19 global crisis, it is time to set the chessboard again. About the upcoming trial regarding the incident of 2018 with the hunter in Evia (Greece)

23-04-2022

Republished from a counter-information website. “About the upcoming trial regarding the incident of 2018 with the hunter in Evia On May 26, 2022, the court case for the incident that happened about 3.5 years ago, on December 26, 2018, in Evia, concerning a dispute with a hunter, will be heard at the Single-Member Court of Appeal for Felony Cases in Chalkida. The persons brought on trial are two.

For reasons not at hand, however, both this text and the political opening of the case is now being done only by the signator. What happened in December 2018 was a spontaneous attempt to prevent a hunter from pursuing his killing hobby and kill an animal. After being asked repeatedly to stop to no avail, tension ensued, the result of which was that his shotgun was thrown somewhere in the woods. With the hunter in a furious state the end of the incident came with our departure from the scene. The hunter called the police and as a result we were stopped on the route by a number of their vehicles and arrested us.

The charges held against us were robbery (for the shotgun) which is a felony and theft (of a cell phone) which is a misdemeanor. At the same time, a restrictive condition to leave the country was imposed, which is still in force today. More about the incident and the statements, role and attitude of the hunting clubs on the case can be found in the previous text published here (editor’s note: this text can be found translated inside the blog here). [Glasgow] May Day Action Against Landlords(pictures)

May Day, International Worker’s Day, is a day of struggle. It was established out of the struggle to free Chicago anarchists, arrested following the armed defence of a workers’ strike for the eight-hour day in May 1886. Four anarchists were hanged for it, and one more robbed the hangman with a bomb. From the moment the hangman’s rope was set around their necks on an autumn’s day in 1887, this day has been commemorated as a day of revolt by anarchists and anti-capitalists around the world. For, as has been proven time and again, the only dead movements are the movements that forget their dead.

Today, we find ourselves in the midst of a so-called “cost of living crisis”. We have lost count of the unending capitalist crises we have lived through in the past few years; market crashes, wars and pandemics. This one takes the form of a direct attack on the most exploited within society, as the cost of our most basic nessecities (housing, energy, water and food, among others) skyrockets. Once again, we are the ones expected to bear the brunt of their crisis, to sacrifice ourselves at the altar of profit for crumbs.
