We take responsibility for the attack with an incendiary device with gaseous explosives at the EFKA building in Zografou by Anarchist Attack Group. (Athens,Greece)

We take responsibility for the attack with an incendiary device with gaseous explosives at the EFKA (Health center of Zografou ) building in Zografou area which resulted in damage to a State vehicle of EFKA as well as to the building.

We would like to begin by emphasizing that we do not intend this text to speak more than our action. An attack on the State, on an institution we think speaks for itself. Let these few words be a necessary companion and political defence of the flame of our attack.

We have chosen this target as it is a State institution created by the former Minister of Labour Hatzidakis and now under the authority of this ministry, and responsible for pensions, insurances and labour insurance. In other words, everything that constitutes modern capitalist Christianity. To put it more simply. I have worked for 40 years hoping for a pension to ”live my life” as it comes, and if, and with as much money as the government of the day decides. We even know that this particular body has deliberately delayed the payment of thousands of pensions. But we are not here to beg the State to give the pensions to the ‘poor people’ who have forcefully made sure that they have re-elected their oppressors. We are here to remind the State that any attack on the lower economic strata will involve an attack on itself.

Larissa prison,Greece:Thanos Chatzianggelou: The right of one is a matter for all of us – start of a hunger strike

Hunger strike of the imprisoned member of Anarchist Action Thanos Chatzianggelou alongside his comrade Giannis Michailidis.

Our struggles are like journeys. They carry all their contents along the road and not at the destination. And the value of a journey is in sharing it. It is the wild beauty of togetherness.

There is no more room for words – only actions. Today we each have to give a little something, so that some of us don’t have to give everything. And whatever the end, we will be by each other’s side to face it together.

From today, Sunday 11/6, I am starting a hunger strike alongside comrade Giannis Michailidis, demanding the immediate satisfaction of his rights.

No vacillation between duties and dispositions

The right of one concerns all of us

Greece: Call for actions internationally in solidarity with the anarchist hunger striker G. Michailidis (ENG/GR.)

Call for actions internationally in solidarity with the anarchist hunger striker G. Michailidis (ENG/ΕΛ)

The anarchist comrade and prisoner of the Greek prisons, Giannis Michailidis, is on a new hunger strike since 12.05.2023. Exactly one year ago, on May 25, 2022, he had announced the start of another hunger strike demanding his release, which after 68 days of hard strike, last July, he decided to end, with his health condition reaching a critical point, awaiting the fulfilment of the commitments of senior judges for meeting his demands. A year later, the mockery of the comrade by the scum of the judiciary is ongoing, with his requests for leave or release being rejected one after another and a whole backdrop of interventions by senior judges and other high ranking officials of the Greek state to prolong Giannis’ captivity. Thus, with his health still burdened by the previous strike, the comrade is currently back in the position of using his own body as a barricade in the face of state machinations.

The comrade’s strike last year showed with certainty that there was a central strategy on the part of the state mechanisms to conceal the struggle for his release and to force the comrade into physical and psychological extermination; a dead end in order to lead to a retreat and not to release the comrade. The solidarity actions, the strike itself, were well concealed for most of its duration, thus seeking to have any state response taking place in a shadowy setting of silencing, behind-the-scenes mockery of the comrade and his legal defence by the judicial mafia, which stretched the timeframe for holding any relevant meetings to the limit.

Similarly, the also recent experience of the hunger strike of the captured member of the revolutionary organization 17th of November, Dimitris Koufontinas, which preceded that of Giannis (8 January-14 March 2021), highlighted on the one hand the state’s callousness towards a hunger-striking combative prisoner, and on the other hand showed how the escalation of repression against the solidarity movement, brought the opposite results and that zero-tolerance strategy brought more people on the streets, more stubbornness, more attacks on state and capitalist targets, social exposure and, ultimately, it was catalytic in creating explosive situations where the state’s omnipotence was shattered, as in the Nea Smirni uprising. And this is something that the state murderers have probably “read”. That is why the strategy in the immediate aftermath of last year’s strike of Giannis Michailidis was more akin to a posture of marginalization, targeted non-escalation and silencing, with callousness remaining a common feature. In order to prevent Giannis’ struggle from becoming a social event.

Greece: Solidarity hunger – Call to action by Anarchist prisoner Giannis Michailidis

Solidarity hunger – Call to action by Giannis Michailidis

In the aftermath of the murder of Kostas by a DIAS cop, self-proclaimed “Justice” arms the hands of the cops who will execute unruly kids, Roma, immigrants, protesters in the future. Just as the cops murderers of Sabanis were released, giving the message that Roma lives have no value. In fact, the transition of the State to a more authoritarian form reflects the contraction of social resistance. If, as was the case in December 2008, the murder of Sabani had provoked a riot, the State apparatus would have curbed police violence, and such incidents would not have occurred with such frequency. So it is obvious that this event results from social decay and decline, from the collapse of resistance, from the ideological colonialism of capitalism in people’s minds.

The above constitutes a good reason for a call to action. But in this condition, apart from the limited responses to this event, I note with concern the lack of solidarity actions in the hunger strike of the 11 political refugee fighters from Turkey, and the lack of the required reflexes in the hunger and thirst strike of the anarchist comrade Thanos Chatzianggelou.

Cochabamba, Bolivia: Claim of arson attack against patrol car of the Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra la Violencia (Special Force to Fight against Violence)

In the early morning of September 12, at 2:40 a.m., we placed an incendiary device composed of four half-liter plastic bottles with gasoline, tied with adhesive tape, which were set on fire by means of a wick that we assembled with 5 matches and 3 incenses tied with rubber bands.

We placed this rudimentary device behind one of the front wheels to ensure that the main damage was in the engine area.

Although all of their cars are incendiary, the choice of a Special Anti-Violence Force van is not random. There is no exception, every police force is the enemy and we don’t buy their song and dance about fighting against gender violence. The patriarchy will fall when the last stone of this prison society falls. We abhor their gendered capitalism. We abhor its State spawn forced on unfathomable differences to satisfy the needs of post-colonial oligarchies. We do not demand anything from the institutions, we do not want any police in our neighborhoods and communities with the story of women’s security. You, murderous cops, are the phallus (now scorched) of patriarchy!

Athens, Greece: Responsibility claim for attack two branches of Lidl

On 8/4 and 19/5 we chose to attack two branches of the multinational company Lidl. These targets were not chosen at random. A few months before, in an attempt by an elderly woman to squeeze, without paying the price of products for her living, she was bullied by security guards – protectors of the bosses’ profits. In a period of constant impoverishment of the lower classes of the population, and over-inflation of the bosses’ profits, the class gap seems to be constantly blurring. The poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer.

The steady decline in wages and the simultaneous increase in the cost of living (food, electricity, rent, fuel) leave us with no other answer than to attack the devaluation of our lives.

Greece: Giannis Michaildis – Announcement of a hunger strike for my release

After 8.5 years in prison, after all these arbitrary actions against me, I decided to put an end to my 11 years of suffering, by putting a stop to the practice of pre-trial detention, or the additional punishment of escape through legal loopholes. After 5 more months of pre-trial detention, I start a hunger strike for my release. This choice, with the deep motivation of the much desired freedom, I intend to support it with the same consistency that I have supported my choices so far and for which I am being persecuted.

“Woe to those who will accept prison as a condition of life, and from the brightest sunlight, the smallest ray” – The rallying cry of the Alikarnassos prison uprising

For 11 years I have experienced state vengeance against choices in line with my values and ideas. The difficult journey, from which I choose to share some blatant vengeful acts of arbitrariness against me, began in the distant 2011, when an arrest warrant was issued against me for the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire case, for which I was eventually acquitted as there was not the slightest connection between me and the charge against me. It was the incrimination of a relationship of solidarity with wanted anarchists that put me in their place when they were arrested.

After 2 years of being on the run, I too am now walking through the heavy doors of prison, as the existence of a warrant that entails a decade of incarceration has led to certain choices and consequent mistakes. The comrades who were arrested at the time in the bank robbery in Velvento, Kozani, were tortured by the police, which is common, and then the Ministry of Public Order published photos of our swollen faces, provoking a public reaction. Of course, no police officer was accused of this by the blind Greek justice system. Continue reading Greece: Giannis Michaildis – Announcement of a hunger strike for my release
