Night of May 18, 2022. The production workshops of ” Précis Mécanic “, supplier of the war industry and other technological nuisances, go up in smoke…

A plume of black smoke

It was exactly two months ago. On the night of May 17 to 18, 2022, shortly before midnight, a large plume of black smoke rose above Sassenage (Isère). A large blaze was in the process of devouring hundreds of square meters in an industrial zone located northwest of Grenoble. Major resources were deployed on site, but the firemen only managed to save the company’s administrative offices and a storage depot. The production workshop was completely destroyed. The 40 skilled workers and engineers employed by the company were put on unemployment until production could be restarted on another site.

If the press did not conceal this nocturnal fire with a modest veil of silence, it did not look further than the plume of smoke that rose that night over the Grenoble basin. This is perhaps because the name of the company ravaged by the flames is not particularly evocative. And indeed, one cannot prove them wrong: “Précis Mécanic” does not seem to be a name designed to attract attention. Yet, among the clientele of this precision mechanics and machining SME, which celebrated its fifty years of existence in 2016, appear well-known names from the technology industry: Schneider Electric, Siemens, Orano, Bosch, JST Transformateur. And that’s still without mentioning the services Précis Mécanic has already provided to the military industry, a merit it boasts on its own website: “production of card baskets, boxes for electronic cards embedded in nuclear submarines and fighter planes.”

Buenos Aires, Argentina: Demonstration 5 Years After the Disappearance and Murder of Santiago Maldonado Monday, August 1st

Demonstration 5 Years After the Disappearance and Murder of Santiago Maldonado
Monday, August 1st, 5pm.
Miserere Square.
Buenos Aires, CABA.

On Monday August 1st we will be gathering in Plaza Once 5 years after the disappearance of anarchist compañero Santiago Maldonado, seeking to meet and vindicate the revolutionary memory of the compañero outside of the self-victimizing frameworks and requests for “justice”.

Because we understand that the memory of an anarchist is claimed from iconoclastic consequence, because we have nothing to ask from the State and Capital, because nothing has changed after these 5 years, while the government adjusts its figures and the reformists fight for a seat in Congress, the police continue to disappear and murder daily, the encroachment on the earth and the communities in struggle deepens day after day, and private property deprives us every moment of free time outside the logic of Capital.

With lechuga, Emilia Baucis, Urubú Terenzi and Soledad Rosas in our black memory!
Freedom to the anarchist prisoners for the Clarín’s escrache!
Never defeated, always firm against all authority!

🔥Bring your flag🔥.

THE HIDDEN STRENGTH OF AN INSURRECTION IS THAT IT AROUSES THE IMAGINATION

It was late evening of December 5th, 2008 and I was reading the comic book ‘V for Vendetta’, when a phrase shook me: “Noise is relative to the silence preceding it. The more absolute the hush, the more shocking the thunderclap.” The economic crisis hadn’t yet unsettled the dominant narrative of capitalism as a one-way road, and a spontaneous insurrection in a country of the west world seemed like a utopia. I stood on this phrase, which I felt very believable, but there weren’t any facts to support it and I wondered a lot inside me..

A day later, a bullet struck the heart of feisty comrade Alexandros Grigoropoulos. The bullet came from the weapon of a cop, for whom Vyronas Polydoras, as minister of Public Order, had warned that had a sensitive nervous system and shoots. The same night, rage kicked off. At first, it was the anarchist/antiauthoritarian milieu, and the next day it expanded to school kids, students, immigrants and the excluded. Public buildings were occupied, from universities to city halls and the Opera house, in a background of hours-long clashes with the police, extensive destructions and looting of banks and department stores. Not only a message was sent to the impudent repressive mechanisms of the state, but now the vision of an anarchist insurrection was gaining ground. An inconceivable diversity of actions, opinions, persons, affinity groups, organizations, etc. composed the uprising of December.

The dynamic of the anarchist idea in the greek territory, brought back the forgotten project of a generalized insurrection, because, contrary to centralized structures and logics, it gave each person space to take initiatives and express oneself, precisely because there wasn’t any limitation of free expression.

In the aftermath, the insurrection had left its direct organizational heritage with a clear reflection on all kinds of actions, something that at the end, inevitably, led to upgraded state repression. It also left ineffaceable to us the ecstatic experience of generalized direct clash with the state and the authoritarian structures in all levels.

But this insurrection wasn’t defeated by repression. The insurrection faded gradually and didn’t achieve a leap forward to a direct application of our ideas in praxis, because the events had already outstripped the imagination of the people that participated. The insurrection faded because of the inherent weaknesses of our proposals. With the inability to continuously coordinate our actions as the most obvious reason for the fade-out, most criticism was pointed at the lack of central organization or ideology. The transformation of the milieu to a movement with a single structure, ideology and hierarchization of priorities was suggested.

THE 5G NETWORK AND THE SO-CALLED ‘SMART PLANET’ (Italy)

THE 5G NETWORK AND THE SO-CALLED ‘SMART PLANET’

Italy, like the rest of the world, is pressing ahead with the implementation of the 5G network, but how many really know what it is? First of all, the name: 5G is not related to the frequency of the waves used, but indicates that it is a fifth-generation network, whose waves have A power and frequency several times higher than those used so far. Like most technologies it also originated in the military sphere, in fact the type of waves that will be used by this network, namely microwaves and millimetre waves, are used both for localisation (radar), and as a real weapon of war (Active Denial System).

With the 5G network we will be irradiated twenty-four hours a day by an infinity of these waves, which, due to their technical characteristic, will require the installation of millions of new antennas, at a maximum distance of one hundred metres from each other, depending on the location. One only has to look around to see the continuous installation of new repeaters, or the continuous installation of new antennas on existing ones. What few people know is that there will be many ‘mini-antennas’, camouflaged both in street furniture (lampposts, manhole covers, bus stops, etc.) and in everyday objects, not to mention the thousands of satellites that have been launched, and will continue to be launched, into space, to connect even the most remote places on earth. What is known to date about the network already in use is that it causes serious and irreversible damage genetically, biologically and to the reproductive system, which makes it clear that its enhancement (by means of the installations we have just discussed) will cause even greater damage to all living things, further aggravating a situation which already today appears dramatic.

Greece: GIANNIS MICHAILIDIS : NOTICE OF SUSPENSION – NOT TERMINATION – OF THE HUNGER STRIKE

I find myself in the unfortunate position to announce that I am suspending this difficult struggle without having won anything substantial. However, this struggle is not over yet nor do I intend to leave it unfinished. The suspension is temporary; some of the reasons are the obvious ones. Some are not. I apologise to those who have supported me that I cannot share the reasons publicly at this point. Should I need to continue I will explain publicly and in detail the reasons I chose the temporary suspension. I will continue to fight for what I deserve and hopefully will not need to continue.

The justice system has been humiliated. So far, the only success of this hunger strike is that it has highlighted its contradictions. In terms of the barricades I have attempted to raise, there have been the statements of the lawyers, changing the mood of the “throw them inside and throw away the keys” logic. But my personal request remains in the air. And my commitment that I wouldn’t stop seems betrayed at this point. This weighs on me, of course, and despite knowing that my intention is – if necessary – to continue at a more fruitful time in the near future; but as I said before, not everything can be said at this moment and I hope it will not have to be said. Closing this announcement, I want to wholeheartedly thank those who have supported me in any way. Those who took a stand, those who transcended their social roles because empathy prevailed. But above all, those who fought tooth and nail to break the enforced silence, those who were beaten in the streets to express their solidarity, those who took risks and those who starved in prison. To the latter I owe my life. If all this had not happened, at this moment the conditions for this suspension wouldn’t exist. That’s all for now. I still look forward to my immediate release.

Everything continues…

Yiannis Michailidis

Greece: 28/7/22, Medical announcement for the hunger striker Giannis Michailidis

28/7, The condition of Giannis Michailidis in the last 24 hours and according to the recent medical examinations, has deteriorated rapidly. His hypoglycaemia is now very severe with blood sugar levels around 50. At any moment he may fall into a hypoglycaemic coma, which of course (since he is isolated outside the clinic in the special detention area) may not be noticed in time and may not be able to be brought back up in time.

Giannis
now – although he has a strong feeling of thirst – cannot drink a sufficient amount of water as even two sips cause gastroesophageal reflux. This results in severe dehydration, severe stress on the kidneys and severe pains in urination. The risk of renal failure is high and is exacerbated by metabolic disorders and severe ketoacidosis.

As a doctor, I address the Last Warm Request to the competent Judicial Council of the Court of Appeal of Lamia, towards an immediate and positive outcome of the case of Mr. Michailidis. Any further delay and negative decision will lead a young man to a certain, torturous and quick death.

WINNEMUCCA INDIAN COLONY USA DIRECT ACTION REPORT BACK

The Winnemucca Indian Colony, on Paiute and Shoshone land in so-called Winnemucca, Nevada, is under attack from self-appointed tribal chairperson Judy Rojo and her crooked council, none of whom even live on the colony or in Nevada. Judy is not recognized by the residents and elders of the Winnemucca Indian Colony. Although the colony was part of a forced removal project intended for “homeless Indians,” Judy Rojo charges the residents rent and began demolishing their homes and forcefully evicting them in November of 2021. The 20 acres of land where the WIC residents live today was purchased in 1928 by the government from the Central Pacific Railway. Many of the elders have lived on this land for decades and are second generation residents. Judy Rojo and her contracted goon, Bob McNichols of REZBuilders, have demolished 8 structures and homes on the colony so far without the consent of the residents.

Judy Rojo has also stolen 320 acres that has ‘legally’ belonged to the Winnemucca Indian Colony since 1918 under colonial law. She is building homes and a tribal building, which has not been approved by the colony residents. On the 320, Judy built and is using the Water Canyon Dispensary to steal and launder millions of dollars from WIC residents. The dispensary is currently expanding to increase their profits. This is a land grab. The identity of the non-native dispensary owner collaborating with Judy to launder money is unknown.

Urgent : Negative decision of the Lamia council for the release of 67-day hunger striker Giannis Michailidis

The killers of the Lamia council appeal courts have issued a negative decision on the release of 67-day hunger striker anarchist comrade Giannis Michailidis. Their hands are stained with the blood of the poor, the oppressed, the fighters, and Giannis Michailidis… who demanding his freedom continues to fight from a hospital cell…

—–

‘’I think they are even using the hunger strike as an example now. They’ve set my appeal hearing for 25/7/. On that day I will have done 64 days’ hunger strike. The aim is clear. To exhaust me. A possible permanent disability reinforces the message they are sending. Perhaps my eventual death, which becomes more likely with each passing day. Such a perversion of the concept of justice is unthinkable. Let them enjoy their “justice”. Enjoy your careers.

As for me, who do not have access to their villas with their lavish tables paid for with bribes, I can greet this world fasting, but with the spiritual fullness of total existential conflict with their rotten system.’’

Against war
What international?

It is again a time of sacrifice, of hunger, of destruction. Perhaps as never before. The war between the great powers, the economic crisis, the rhetoric of national unity and helmeted politics are, a century later, the nightmare into which the bourgeoisie is again plunging us. With the possibility of nuclear holocaust as a further deadly incumbency.

URGENT: Critical health condition of 65-day hunger striker Giannis Michailidis (Greece)

On Monday 25 July, after 64 days of hunger strike, the court of appeal in Lamia held a hearing for his release. Although there was a commitment on the part of the council to issue the decision in time, we understand that the timeframe for respecting the hunger striker has passed. Indeed, they have been elapsed since the Amfissa council delayed a month in issuing its decision. Any further delay on the part of the Lamia council constitutes further torture and an attempt to eliminate our comrade.

As for his health, comrade Giannis Michailidis estimates that he will not be able to drink any water until Thursday, as his body is so badly damaged that he suffers constant palpitations, which make swallowing water impossible. He has now lost 20.6 pounds, more than 28% of his original body weight. In general he states that he has no strength, moves very little and has severe pain in his spleen, left kidney and chest. He is also forced to sleep sitting up due to constant stomach upsets. His blood sugar has dropped to 71 and his blood pressure is 8 and 6. He is very dizzy and cannot concentrate.

The hunger strike continues – and so does the breaking

A few hours before the appeal in Lamia court regarding the decision on whether or not to grant the request of Giannis Michailidis, we broke the windows of the ELTA [post offices] in Kaisariani on the road of Ethnikis Antistasis.

Of course the council is not interested in this, but Giannis will know that the breaking continues until his release. The answer to the state’s repression is given in the streets. If the forces of the state destroy our marches, the city will be filled at night with alarms interrupting the illusion of security with their sound.

Treviso, Italy: Juan sentenced to 28 years’ prison. With blood in our eyes

Juan sentenced to 28 years’ prison.

With blood in our eyes

Saturday July 9th, the court of Treviso sentenced our friend and comrade Juan to 28 years’ prison (plus three years’ probation, 30,000 euro in compensation to the League and 17,000 euro in court costs) because he was held responsible for the attack in Treviso of the Carroccio in August 2018. Following the recent configuration of the charge of ‘political massacre’ – which stipulates life imprisonment – for an explosive attack on the carabinieri barracks in Fossano attributed to the anarchists Anna and Alfredo, this is the highest penalty, in our memory, ever imposed in Italy for a direct action that resulted in no injuries.

Among the infinite possible examples, it can be observed that the charge of ‘political massacre’ was not even brought against the Capaci massacre, [1992, anti-mafia Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife and three escort cops, are killed in an explosion on the motorway near Palermo, Sicily and seven other people injured] while the fascist Traini was sentenced to 12 years for shooting at immigrants, wounding six of them, (and against a PD [Democratic Party] premises…). The aggravating circumstances of ‘terrorism’ (and of ‘massacres’ with neither dead nor wounded) apply to revolutionaries in general and anarchists in particular. We could also remember what was said in so much of so-called civil society in 2018 about state racism, on immigrants segregated on ships in ports, on the declarations of Interior Minister Salvini.

Intervention on airbnb in Exarcheia area

The analyses of the gentrification of the Exarcheia neighbourhood are now well known and are part of the words and practice of the anti-authoritarian space. House evictions, cop culture, bawdy tourists frolicking undisturbed in their new playground. Squat evictions, mega real estate companies, and so much more that we see in our neighbourhood every day.

Gentrification is our forced replacement with first-class citizens and visitors. For what purpose? For political denaturalization, for counter-insurgency, for profit. But the actions of our diverse movements will sweep them away once again.
