Direct Action Cells take responsibility for the arson attack on the OPEKEPE (the Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid) building in Domokou Street. The cell that carried out the attack moved inside a pretty guarded area and acted in a building protected by an police patrol car, nevertheless the plan was executed successfully.
Our attack is dedicated to all those suffocating in the gloomy situation that has been created in this country, those drowning in anxiety about how the month will end, those who imagine rifts of revenge against the barbarity of an unjust everyday life and smile at the din of an act of political anti-violence. For the past two weeks, we have been witnessing a trial unfold, one in which the authorities are striving to downplay the political nature of the case and distract attention by talking about armed terrorists and other familiar clichés to reinforce the narrative that those being
prosecuted in the Ampelokipi case were and are a potential danger to society. In reality, of course, for the past two weeks we have seen our comrades maintain their political dignity intact, as well as the memory of our comrade Kyriakos, through their stance in court and throughout their imprisonment.
It has been over a year since the explosion in the apartment on Arkadias Street, an explosion that would change the lives of dozens of people. A few hours after the explosion, the building was sealed off for inspection by counterterrorism authorities, and a few days later, the apartment building was deemed uninhabitable. Repairs to the building’s damage were contracted out to TERNA, the conglomerate that, among other things, collaborated with the murderous state of Israel, is implicated in the scandal involving the hollow dams in Volos, the construction of Type C prisons, the covering up in of the crime scene at Tempi, and the
plundering of entire tracts of land in the name of green redevelopment.
However, over the past year and a half, the restoration of the building has not progressed at all, in order to reinforce the targeting of our comrades as terrorists who put people’s lives at risk, but also in the public sphere where the suffering of residents who still cannot return to their homes is perpetually reproduced. Hunger striker Suzon Doppagne is being monitored daily by a team of solidarian doctors. During the physical examination, she presents with orthostatic hypotension and tachycardia upon standing, and since the first days of her hunger strike, she has been experiencing daily recurring hypoglycemic episodes.
She has lost a total of 10,2% of her initial body weight.
It is clear that the hunger striker Suzon Doppagne, now on the 13th day of her hunger strike, is at risk of serious complications.

Named in honour of internationalist anarchist Kyriakos Xymitiris, the boat ‘Kyriakos X’ is sailing with the Freedom Flotilla Coalition to break Israel’s genocidal blockade that the zionist state has imposed on Gaza for decades. In a testament to Kyriakos’s life, which he dedicated to fight for justice and for the oppressed, the boat also stands in solidarity with the legitimate resistance of Palestinian people, who never stopped fighting to end the colonialist occupation of their land.
On the 8th of May, Kyriakos X left the harbour with 33 other vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla and met four other Freedom Flotilla Coalition boats at sea. In the early hours of March 25, we carried out an arson attack on the
residence of the dean of the National Polytechnic University of
Athens, Panagiotis Tsanakas, as well as a riot police officer, in the
Zografou neighborhood. Our investigation into the chief of the
academic rabble at the Polytechnic led us to a coincidence that is both peculiar and poetically explainable. A snitch and a cop that work and live together, an image that is, at the very least, moving.
Tsanakas is not merely Hatzigeorgiou’s (director of the National
Technical University of Athens) lackey; rather, as the culmination of
his “academic” work, he has shamelessly turned in to the police a
student who was writing slogans in support of the Palestinian people on campus’ walls. However, he plays a deeper and more substantial role in Hatzigeorgiou’s police-controlled monstrosity, a rectorate that permits/enforces the daily presence and patrols of police on campus in full compliance and obedience to the dictates of the New Democracy doctrine for absolute control and, in essence, necrosis of student and subversive struggles within universities. An administration that we have lost count of how many times it has ordered the invasion of law enforcement forces onto the university grounds, with a particular “sensitivity” when it comes to those showing solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people. On the 16th of May, comrade Aristotelis Chantzis will be in 101 days of hunger strike. Since First of May, comrade Suzon Doppagne stands alongside his struggle as the second hunger striker until death. More comrades will follow this path if the demands of the community are not met.
The community has the need to escalate these struggles until victory, it is time to increase the pressure on all levels towards all representatives of the Greek State and the EU.

In 2017, the Koukaki Squatting Community was created. Three abandoned houses were occupied at the streets of 45 Matrozou, 21 Panaitolio and 3 Arvali in the neighbourhood of Koukaki. A neighbourhood, close to the Filopappou Hill and the Acropolis, which was downgraded during the memorandum years [1] and then exploited by tourism and heavily gentrified.
In 2017, through collective effort the houses became habitable, flourishing as spaces for housing and political struggle. The doors of the squatted buildings were open to those who wished to counterattack state violence and injustice, to those needing shelter or the community’s solidarity structures, to those seeking a collective way of living, as well as to the people of the neighborhood. Besides assemblies and the events, the squats hosted a lending library, public showers and laundries, and a clothing exchange bazaar.
After about three years and having fought back several attacks by fascists and cops, and amongst a wave of evictions of self-organized spaces, the houses got evicted by the greek state.
