Claim for the explosive attack against the ΕΦΚΑ headquarters,(the Greek Social Security)

“Violent resistance is exhilarating, it is a ray of hope in a desperate and silent world”

While most of society are seeking a way to find a place in this suffocating world, in which not even breathing can be taken for granted and death is the order of the day, in which the war industry is developing rapidly, in which the powerful trample human dignity and blood flows like water, imposing it all as normality, some choose to spit in the face of oppression, to refuse submission, to reject the assimilation of degradation. Some choose to struggle, to risk, to fight those who trample on their dreams, with pride and dignity.
One of those was the armed revolutionary Kyriakos Xymitiris, dead on October 31 of ’24 in an explosion in an apartment in Ampelokipoi while he was handling explosive material.

This was followed by a display of State power and vindictiveness, with the arrest of Marianna Manoura—she had been injured in the explosion—of Dimitra Zarafeta, Dimitris, Nikos Romanos and A.K. on the basis of an inflated list of charges. After spending one and a half years in prison, the case finally went to trial, and the last three accused were acquitted, while the other two comrades were found guilty of belonging to a terrorist organisation. Marianna M. was sentenced to 19 years’ prison, and Dimitra to 8 years. We should not be surprised by the pretrial detentions based on insufficient evidence, or by the convictions. Because this is the war of power. Anyone who fights back is persecuted and this is just the beginning.

The victims of State repression are countless, thousands of deaths. The State, by amending and toughening the penal code, is preparing a modern totalitarian regime in which if you don’t adapt you either die or end up in prison. The judges, as long-standing defenders of the bosses, condemn any transgressive being, anything that deviates from the monotonous, dystopian present, from the oppressive reality we are forced to accept. With their wretched sentences, they lock people up in cells, expose them to the rampant violence that prevails inside prisons, violently severing their family and friendship ties in the horror of oblivion. In the courts, where the powerless see their lives ruined over petty offences, ministers, members of parliament, and the wealthy get off scot-free, showing that the essence of civil justice is to never turn a blind eye to the sordid interests of those in power. Among their priorities is the repression of anarchist political action, the suppression of the struggle for freedom, the exhaustion of militants with flimsy charges, arbitrary detentions, and extremely heavy sentences. But political action doesn’t bend.

At dawn on April 23rd an explosive device was placed near the EΦΚΑ of Kallithea the reasons are obvious and many. The ΕΦΚΑ, in as a structure of the State, is on the one hand a vehicle of wage slavery and on the other is responsible for bleeding us dry economically through taxes. The device was detonated, setting off a fire at the entrance to the building, but it didn’t explode because, according to what was reported by some media of the regime, somebody had tried to “neutralise” it with a hose before the arrival of the fire brigade. It is a fact that in the present gloomy climate under which we live, there exists a certain kind of contemporary man of the large capitalist cities: a man crushed by power and poverty that he himself creates, who is subject to governments’ every whim and, given the monotony of his life, is inclined to carry out deeds that make him feel useful.

And thus he will rush to put out fires blazing in State institutions, even if it is precisely inside them that his own suffocating oppression is fuelled. This small act, the placing of the explosive device, is far from representing even a minimal part of the response to the violence we put up with every day. But it has a preliminary value for the thousands of actions that are about to shake the governing class and their lackeys. We have 2026 – and over – reasons to attack the State, to extend direct action to every corner of the globe. To remember that our enemies are vulnerable. Our promise is that we will not give up without a fight and this promise comes alive in action. We will destroy that which embodies our asphyxia with every means: with sabotage, attacks, political agitation among the oppressed, solidarity initiatives and plenty of appetite.

On March 19th the terrible news came out concerning the death of the anarchists Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone, due to the explosion of a device in preparation in an abandoned farmhouse in Rome. A heartbreaking event, but which also lead to passion and inspiration for intensifying the counterattack.

Those who fall fighting power will never be forgotten. Their memory and their spirit will stay alive in the streets of revolt, in the struggles against oppression, in every moment we decide to put ourselves on the line and not give in. Aware that in a world where everything is stolen, we don’t have much to lose.

We express our solidarity with the occupation of the refugee housing community, with Aristos Hantzis, on hunger strike, and Suzon Dopaggne, also on hunger strike. Beyond the political divergences that can emerge, the essence is that Prosfygikά remains a living counterproposal of collectivisation of our needs in the here and now, where solidarity blossoms and where they will fight to the end. Cops, bosses and other scoundrels, keep your hands off liberated territories.

Let’s struggle without end until the last prison is in flames and our oppression seems only a painful memory. Let’s go ahead with incendiary words and actions for freedom, for a world without borders, nations, State, discrimination and exploitation. In contrast to the reformist logic that makes us complacent. The conditions for the revolution mature in us with every action, with every act of defiance. The time is here and now, always and everywhere. Strength and respect to those who walk the streets of fire : their steady and determined stride is an inspiration to us all. Solidarity to the rebels all over the world. Freedom blossoms amid the ruins of power, and though we still have a long way to go… those who dared to dream while taking action will light the way.

We pay tribute to the armed insurgent Kyriakos Xymitiris, to the anarchist Snizana Paraskevaidou, the comrades Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone.
