UK: Statement by anarchist comrade Toby Shone after strip and cell search by G4S Parc
The cell search described by Toby Shone is believed to be an attempt at intimidation by G4S Parc following a month of concerted efforts by those on the outside to call to account Gareth Kite, Post Room Manager, for withholding mail and books from Toby. Although Kite has responded by dribbling Toby small amounts of mail, some of it from months ago – whilst continuing to claim that Toby has no mail – we know that there is a lot of mail outstanding, both from HMP Bristol and HM Prison Parc, and particularly letters and cards of solidarity from political groups and letter-writing nights. This morning at around 9.40, a team from the Security Department, entered my cell, subjected me to a strip search and proceeded to turn my pad upside down, going through all my possessions – legal papers, letters, photos and books – in the name of “intelligence” that they had received.

On 22/02/2022, comrade Giannis MichaiIidis is informed that for the Amfissa Plenary Council he does not meet the “essential” conditions for his release after more than 8 years of imprisonment, as for the council, there is a “risk of committing new offences”.
Comrade G.M. has been targeted for years by the authorities because of his subversive activities. Recently, because of the targeting of him, as well as other prisoners, for the riot that took place in the Malandrino prison in solidarity with the then hunger striker Dino Giantzoglou, he took the option of escaping from prison. In a robbery he carried out while in the illegal situation, he was caught by the cops and taken back to prison.
Nevertheless, under the state’s own laws on merging sentences, the comrade meets all the formal requirements for his release. The Board is vindictively keeping him inside, for vague and indefinite “substantive reasons”, on a completely unsubstantiated rationale of general justification for robbery on the part of G.M.
The comrade is in a special exempt status because of his political beliefs and practices, serving an exhaustive sentence that is being extended arbitrarily. He has been on hunger strike Since Monday 23/05, in order to obtain his release.

After 8.5 years in prison, after all these arbitrary actions against me, I decided to put an end to my 11 years of suffering, by putting a stop to the practice of pre-trial detention, or the additional punishment of escape through legal loopholes. After 5 more months of pre-trial detention, I start a hunger strike for my release. This choice, with the deep motivation of the much desired freedom, I intend to support it with the same consistency that I have supported my choices so far and for which I am being persecuted.

For 11 years I have experienced state vengeance against choices in line with my values and ideas. The difficult journey, from which I choose to share some blatant vengeful acts of arbitrariness against me, began in the distant 2011, when an arrest warrant was issued against me for the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire case, for which I was eventually acquitted as there was not the slightest connection between me and the charge against me. It was the incrimination of a relationship of solidarity with wanted anarchists that put me in their place when they were arrested.
After 2 years of being on the run, I too am now walking through the heavy doors of prison, as the existence of a warrant that entails a decade of incarceration has led to certain choices and consequent mistakes. The comrades who were arrested at the time in the bank robbery in Velvento, Kozani, were tortured by the police, which is common, and then the Ministry of Public Order published photos of our swollen faces, provoking a public reaction. Our lives are daily subjected to the devaluation and all-out attack of the state in all areas of socio-political reality. Understaffed hospitals where people are dying without even having the possibility of a decent hospitalization, labour sweatshops where workers are murdered as security measures are non-existent, uniformed scumbags chasing and shooting unarmed minors because they are Roma in the name of property and security, arrests with inflated charges linking people to organizations because of relations of friendship. These are all examples that display the dystopia the rulers want to establish.
In this effort, therefore, we feel the need to set up barriers of resistance and fight back with all means and in various ways against the enemy, while giving the answer that nothing will end with arrests and detention of militants. Throughout her legal career Daphne Vayanou has been a fighter for her own cause. From a young age she was a lawyer for important political cases. With a deep political culture, political stature and a fighting soul she took on heavy political cases, prosecutions and trials. It would not be an exaggeration to say that she was the lawyer of the struggle. She defended many anarchists in numerous trials and political persecutions. Without a trace of conservatism, without making political compromises, she did not alter the political values of the fighters she defended, she did not miss out the political points in the name of any political expediency. And yet she was extremely effective, uniquely combining the political dimensions of the trials with an excellent criminal defence.
Our beloved lawyer Daphne Vayanou was our irreplaceable fellow traveller in our political journey. Many trials, countless meetings, long, meaningful and unforgettable discussions on legal and political issues. She knew it herself, we told her constantly, even after she retired, until a few days before her death, that she was our ADVOCATE. We are in a daily war, a war with the status quo, with every form of power that eats away at our lives, and in this war I realized where I belong. In a world where patriarchy rapes and kills us, where capitalism crushes us, impoverishing what we call life, in this world where humanity itself dominates nature and animals, perpetuating anthropocentric thinking and speciesism. So I chose sides. For the power complex will not destroy itself, no social change will come about unless our action transcends reformist logics, having a will to believe and a commitment to our ideas, putting theory into practice.
I proudly declare myself anarchist, proud that in this rotten society, the society of submission and spectacle, I did not bow my head before exploitation and power and chose to stand next to comrades who, by supporting the multiform struggle, also wrote their own page in the revolutionary historical memory. So far, living my new life next to them, in squats, through their common struggles for freedom, I learned what solidarity and comradeship is, what it means to give everything for what you believe in even if you are going to lose your freedom. I take the political responsibility that is due to me for my complicity in the incendiary attack that took place on 8/2 at the Foundation for National and Religious Reflection. A fragmentary action, which was not carried out by an organisation, namely the Anarchist Action organisation of which I am accused as a member, but was motivated by the desires and anger of two people against religious obscurantism, patriarchy and state power.

Following the coordinated sabotage on April 28 of several sections of fibre optic cables of the French Internet network (in particular that of SFR), the French Federation of Telecoms (FFT), which brings together all major operators, immediately made a show of trying to minimize their impact by highlighting the resilience of networks. And all this, despite the fact that millions of inhabitants of Grenoble, Besançon, Reims or Strasbourg, without counting those of the Paris region and tens of thousands of companies, were temporarily deprived of their electronic leashes. It was a crisis communication of the TFF, intended to reassure the good citizens, while not giving bad ideas to those who could be inspired by this attack, since the traps of these sensitive networks are everywhere, and it is of course impossible to put a cop at the foot of each of them.
Two weeks later, once the storm has passed, it is now far from the white-hot spotlight that the President of the FFT has changed his tune somewhat. In a long alarmist interview given to a specialized economic newspaper, La Tribune, on Tuesday May 10th, Arthur Dreyfuss claims with an eloquent title (“It is necessary to make penalties for acts of vandalism more severe”) that he calls for “a strong hardening of the penal sentences so that they are really dissuasive” against the saboteurs, considering that “the stake is not only to protect the operators, but also all the most sensitive and essential activities of the country”. And what better way to support his carceral statement than to lift a corner of the veil on the real extent of sabotage against communication networks, pointing out their number and their “criminal” character this time, especially for state activities “of security or defense”, which are indeed very dependent on all these cables? In the early morning of Tuesday the 26th of April the German police raided 4 houses of comrades in Munich, as well as the anarchist library ‘Frevel’ & a printing space. All the machines and material present in the printing space were taken away in trucks, while in the houses and the anarchist library mostly anarchist publications, personal documents, computers, phones, printers and digital storage media were confiscated.
Three people are being accused of “forming a criminal organization” (article 129). In the official argumentation of this accusation the cops point at a refusal of the accused to integrate in society, their rejection of the state and its institutions, their belief in violence as a legitimate mean of struggle, and more precisely, their part in the creation and distribution of the anarchist weekly ‘Zündlumpen’. Two of the accused were shortly arrested. The order for DNA sampling was given for all three.

Solidarity message of the imprisoned member of the Organization Anarchist Action to the unrepentant anarchist Claudio Lavazza, in response to the appeal of his 25-year-old sentence which is to be examined on the 17th of May.
While being imprisoned in the most dystopian Hall of tyranny a combination of a few words on a piece of paper could never vividly describe the ideal of revolutionary intransigence. How could anybody fit a moment a life of disobedience, complexly devoted to the relentless struggle without leaving out any important detail.
Until today, there are only few people who wholeheartedly attempted to build a bridge filling the gap between a life and survival. These people who devoted their whole existence to the bright direct actions of the revolutionary base against the fierce doctrine of tyranny for the “end of history”, laid down their lives in the wholehearted hostilities of the revolutionary base. They enlisted sternly and unyieldingly on the fractious front of subversion, bled while comrades were perishing in battle, but imprisoned in the face of the danger of repentance and legitimacy, they chose ironclad pride. Los Álamos (Chile): “Capitalist development is not compatible with the life of the Mapuche”

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, a group of 40 people from the group Resistencia Mapuche Lavkenche (RML) attacked several logging companies in the municipality of Los Álamos in the early morning, in the region of Bío Bío (Chile). Thirty-three dump trucks, backhoes, front-end loaders and other vans surrendered to the flames in less than three hours, while the two access roads to the companies (Trongol road and Pilpilco road) were blocked either by burning trucks moved there or by barricades of felled trees. This coordinated attack was described by the Chilean press as the most significant “since the resumption of the violent struggle by radical Mapuche groups in 1997.”
Needless to say, the forest devastation companies (such as the Asociación de Contratistas Forestales) immediately demanded the extension of the state of emergency established in October 2021 in all of southern Chile, which had ended on March 16 with the new left-wing government of Gabriel Boric. It should be noted that in the north of Chile, the same state of emergency (Estado de Excepción) with military intervention to support the police, established last February, has been maintained on the border with Bolivia and Peru. But the arrival of migrants from Venezuela in the north is not the prolonged struggle of a part of the Mapuche in the south to recover the land and drive out the exploiters, with whom the Chilean state is trying to re-establish dialogue. And the new Minister of the Interior Iskia Siches will not deny this, she who on March 15, in her first days in office, had the bad idea of trying to calm the conflict with a symbolic gesture, going to the community of Temucuicui (Araucanía region) to meet with the father of Camilo Catrillanca, a young peasant shot in the head in November 2018 by the Special Operations Group of the Carabineros responsible for restoring order.
