ON MARCELO VILLARROEL’S SENTENCE COMPUTATION REVIEW HEARING
Today, July 5, the sentence computation review hearing in favor of Marcelo Villarroel took place before Judge Carolina Gajardo, of the 7th Guarantee Court of Santiago. In this hearing, Marcelo’s defence denounced before the Court the illegality of the Gendarmerie’s action of increasing by 21 years the minimum time of his effective sentence to be eligible for parole. Before this modification, he could have applied for parole in December 2019. This action, covered by the modification of DL 321 by law 21.124 in December 2019, violates a series of fundamental guarantees, especially the non-retroactivity of criminal law and the principle of in dubio pro reo, established in the Constitution (art. 19 n3), in the Criminal Code (art. 18) and in a series of international human rights treaties ratified and prevailing in Chile.
The Prosecutor’s Office was also present, represented by prosecutor Arturo Gómez, who argued that Marcelo must still serve sentences of more than 30 years, given the sentences of the Military Prosecutor’s Office, and that this request of the defence had already been resolved in a negative manner by the Court on repeated occasions, and should therefore be rejected (despite the fact that this is the first action for sentence computation).

During the night of Tuesday July 5, around 11 pm an anonymous cyclist was riding through the streets of the wealthy Las Condes neighbourhood and stopped at the intersection of Ebro and Encomenderos.
This is the location of the corporate building of the construction company Belasco, the anonymous person manages to pass a small package through the fence towards the interior of the building. After a few minutes, the device explodes, damaging the facade, mainly the pillar, the entrance gate and windows of the building.
The unknown silhouette manages to continue its course without any problem or being detected. The typical police personnel for these events arrive at the place: GOPE, LABOCAR, OS-9 in charge of the already-traditional Fiscalia Sur, self-styled expert for these cases.

We assume responsibility for the arson attack to a unit of the corporation Lojas Marisa (clothing retailer) located at 431 Martin Afonso St in downtown Martin Afonso 431 in the center of the city of São Vicente, on the coast of the province of São Paulo, on the afternoon of 14-07-2022. A member of our collective placed a small incendiary device with a time mechanism directly on the electrical network of the air conditioner. The device worked as expected, causing a short circuit and a fire. The fire totally destroyed the commercial establishment.

A rude awakening this morning for the inhabitants of the city of the oak: in the night the town centre of Rovereto was victim of a vandalistic raid, with various windows damaged and the words “Juan Alfredo Anna free” written on a bank.
The perpetrators of the vandalistic raid have not yet been identified, but on the window of the Crédit Agricole branch were found the words “Juan Alfredo Anna free”. The windows of the structure in via Stoppani were also damaged, while in piazza Cesare Battisti the vandals struck the windows of the branch of Intesa San Paolo.

Giannis Michailidis: Rape and murder of the concept of justice
For Greek “justice”, a rapist of a child (D. Lignadis) has been sufficiently rehabilitated and is not a danger to society after less than 1.5 years in prison. A racially motivated murderer (Ath. Hortarias), has been sufficiently rehabilitated and is also not a danger after 2 months in prison. The murderer of 15-year-old Alexandros (Ep. Korkoneas) does not deserve life imprisonment. Another rapist (P. Filippidis), earns his freedom prematurely as he is not considered dangerous because of his celebrity. This is the “epic” of crony Greek “justice”.
However, for Greek “justice” an anarchist bank robber and escapee, after almost 9 years in prison and 7 months, after completing the required 3/5 of the sentence, “risks committing new crimes as he has not spent sufficient time in prison”.
What I understand is that robbing a bank and escaping from prison is far worse than rape or murder. Especially if the rapist is a close friend of ministers or the killers kill troublesome kids or marginalised people. After all, isn’t the role of the state to protect capital? Also, it will obviously show more vindictiveness towards someone who has actively challenged the feared institution of prison, absolutely necessary for disciplining society.
EN: Comrade and hunger striker Giannis Michailidis today completes 59 days of hunger strike. He has lost more than 24% of his body weight, as he has gone from 73 kg on 23/5 to 55.5 kg today. The threat to his life is now very serious as his white blood cell count has dropped so far below the lower normal limit (value: 2.43 with a range of 4.60-10.2 K/μL) leading to immunodeficiency.
Platelets are also counted much lower than the lower normal limit (value: 90 with limits 142-424 K/μL) and Thrombocytopenia can cause serious and threatening internal bleeding. Based on his latest medical examinations and according to the treating physicians, he is at risk of serious osteoporosis and already feels pain in his joints. In addition, he has strong chest pain when trying to move around. He already has a possible permanent neurological problem in his eyes as the neurological examination showed diplopia in extremities due to lack of nutrients.
The latest radiological examinations and ultrasound examination (on 18/7) showed that the organs that are now at immediate risk of permanent damage are the bile and the spleen, with the latest one facing an additional burden as Giannis has congenital Mediterranean anaemia (thalassaemia).
