7. – 13. September 2026
To be clear: fascism is here. It’s time to stop moving through life and feeling like we’re seeing ghosts. Fascism is firmly rooted in the present status quo, and uprooting is our business.
On September 6th, federal state elections will be held in Sachsen-Anhalt, an AfD stronghold. Many signs are pointing towards the party gaining an absolute majority. We are tired of discussing harm reduction, strategic voting or so-called democratic practices in general. Whether the AfD will win or not, we know that current authoriatian powers all over the western world are preparing for fascism and war. And Germany plays a major role in this.
Demonstrations, human chains and petitions won’t change the system, we have to find other ways to act.
The German state is three years away from the next general elections, and people living there need to prepare for an AfD-led government. We want to talk about and practice what we need to do to destroy the workings of the state.
From an anarchist point of view, it may come as surprise that we are calling for this week of action. We don’t want to fall into blind actionism orienting itself along parliamentary politics too much. However, we have decided that now is a good moment to draw a line. There is plenty of reasons to attack the German state.
One state has gotten especially much hate over the past years, and unfortunately it is not Germany. It has been inspiring to see critical perspectives on statehood becoming more widespread in the struggle against the genocide in Palestine, yet they have largely solely focused on Israel. We believe it is important to give a lot of attention to the states we live under in our fight, there is no good state.
It is one of the most outspoken drivers of military development inside the EU, and is working on militarizing its own society at mind-numbing speeds. Questionnaires by mail are collecting information on the fighting abilities of people registered as men all around the country.
Germany has an ambition to become Europe’s biggest army … again, and has good opportunities to do so: a massive industry and an economy built on low wages, making jobs in the army and weapons industry attractive.
Civilian infrastructure and the «economy of peace» are stepping stones for the infrastructure of war. German history is a good reminder that our beloved trains are crucial for transporting troops, weapons, resources and prisoners across large distances. Companies manufacturing e.g. simple industry machines, electronics or finer parts for the automotive industry are often players in military supply chains. By now, almost every bigger city is home to some sort of military industry – from weapon production, radar equipment to drone development.
It’s time to act. Germany has been moving towards fascism over the past decade (as have many other states), and there is no doubt about it. No matter which party wins the elections on September 6th, fascists will come into even more powerful positions. They will start changing legislations and publicly denounce and attack all kinds of liberal or emancipatory projects and organisations. They will lay ground for the abuse, punishment, physical assault and prosecution of marginalized people. They will groom the police state and censorship. They have started already, yet make no mistake: After September 6th, there will be little to no chance to stop fascism by means of the state, as they will – even more so than before – be the state.
What do we do after September 6th?
We do believe in chosing our targets carefully and with care for how it may impact the lives of people who are dependent on it.
Under a fascist government, every state office and every state employee is part of it and supports it. This means that after election, all state infrastructure, even if seemingly irrelevant, is part of a fascist government and thus a legitimate target: jails, prisons, government agencies, job centers, police precincts, barracks, foreigner’s registration offices…
There are enough targets out there. We need to start choosing some, plan thouroughly, keep quiet and then go into action.
Under a facist government, fascists and nazis will feel emboldened to roam the streets and act out violently against whoever does not fit into their world view. This is something to be prepared for. By talking through what to do in case of attacks, by building care and defense networks, by re-organising an underground that has been weakend in the past decades.
Don’t let what is happening now become normal. As always, the secret is to really begin.
There is no alternative. Germany must die for us to live.
