ITALY: START OF FIRST DEGREE OF ”OPERATION SCINTILLA”

The three preliminary hearings for Operation Scintilla concluded with the confirmation by the Gup of the entire accusatory package and the committal for trial of all 18 defendants for all the crimes charged.
Obviously, both instigation to commit a crime and subversive association, that is art. 270 c.p., have been reconfirmed. Moreover, the charges of the various offenses of the association remain unchanged, including the placement of two tanks near as many ATMs of the Italian Post Office, the damage by fire of the Center for Permanent Residence for Repatriation in Turin in collaboration with some inmates and the sending of an incendiary package to Ladisa, the company that managed the canteen of the structure of Corso Brunelleschi.

Announcing the Counter-Surveillance Resource Center, an online hub for building a culture of resistance against surveillance.
Around the world, anarchists and other rebels are subject to surveillance due to our activities. Surveillance can be carried out by state institutions or other actors – for example, private investigators, fascists, mercenaries, and law-abiding citizens. Surveillance can be intended to disrupt our activities, make arrests, secure convictions or worse.
As technologies develop, some surveillance techniques stay the same, while others change to incorporate these emergent technologies. While cops still follow us in the streets and keep records about us in their archives, nowadays cameras are everywhere, drones fly overhead, and DNA forensics are sending many comrades to jail. I had the opportunity to speak with her only a few times, however I had the good fortune and the enriching possibility to listen to her on countless occasions.
I don’t think I was indifferent on any of those occasions. The power of her words and gestures, the intensity she brought to each of her statements and harangues motivated me enormously and still do. I remember them -in this encierro- and my hair still stands on end.
How lucky we all were to have been able to coincide in life with a person like Mrs. Luisa!

CHILE: UPDATE ON THE SITUATION OF MÓNICA CABALLERO AND FRANCISCO SOLAR.

The anarchists, who were raided, arrested, formalized and imprisoned on July 24, 2020 and who have been in preventive detention for almost a year, had a hearing of reformalization of charges last Wednesday, July 14 by the hand of the prosecutor Claudio Orellana.
During the virtual hearing, the prosecutor’s office maintained the charges of crimes under the arms control law, the penal code and military justice. The measure responds to a more specific clarification of the accusation in order to give «coherence» to the trial, and is part of the procedures in view of the fact that in August the term of the investigation will be reviewed.
Monica is being held in the San Miguel prison and Francisco in the Rancagua prison.

Contrary to what all the verbal diarrhea of post-modern neo-Leninism claims about the so-called «social movements», the novelty of these movements does not lie in the replacement of trade unions and traditional political parties, but in the motivational structure of the subjects involved; That is, in the convergence of perceptions around multiple factors (economic-socio-cultural) that nourish the collective longing for the welfare state and the labor society and, through processes of social mobilization, constitute a new institutional force that serves as a platform for the different fascisms -whether black, brown, red or whatever color they are given in order to persuade the «masses»- and paves the way for populist leaders.

Meanwhile, the social scientists (neo-Marxians and/or proto-populists) juggle a thousand and one times to semantically accommodate «institutionalization», giving the concept a one hundred and eighty degree turn so that it is grammatically instrumental for them; that is, hiding the intentions of co-optation of the struggles and forced integration to the «new» domination. On the night of Tuesday 13 to Wednesday 14 July, an electrical substation belonging to RTE (Réseau de transport d’électricité), which manages the electricity transmission network, was the target of an arson attack in Lachapelle-sous-Aubenas, in the South Ardèche. This installation is used to transport electricity.

CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF SOLIDARITY WITH ANARCHIST PRISONERS 2021 // 23 – 30 AUGUST

There is a fundamental lie in the capitalist society. A promise that never comes true. The promise of freedom – you just have to work hard. Every time we stumble upon the crisis of capitalism we are reminded about that. More than one year of Covid-19 lies behind us. Some say, that Covid-19 is a health crisis. But it is not! Covid-19 is another crisis caused by capitalism. Provoked by the urge of more wealth and growth. Which contaminate fertile ground through industrial agriculture, steels habitat for humans and wild animals by extraction politics that turned thriving forests into deserts. It is the madness of capitalism that pushes humankind to ever new frontiers where more viruses are waiting for us.
This year brought more social and economic injustice, more suffering, but also more struggle. People stood up against the capitalist system and authoritarian regimes. People fought for  their freedom and against exploitation. People strike at the factories and rose up inside prisons against the authoritarian and profit-oriented politics.
This was a tough year and more is to come. In those times we need solidarity more then ever – in daily life,  our neighborhoods, our communities. But we should not forget our comrades in prison, who fight for freedom and equality. They experience hard times right now. Because the pandemic isolates people in prison even more.

Chile: Mapuche zone ignites after the murder of Pablo Marchant [update]
In the south of Chile, a section of the Mapuche population has been waging a fierce struggle for many years against the large landowners (burning down their villas and occupying their land) as well as against agro-forestry operators, large hydro-electric dams and intensive salmon farms. It was in this context that Pablo Marchant Gutiérrez was murdered on Friday 9 July in Carahue during an attack on the vehicles of the company Forestal Mininco (a subsidiary of the cellulose giant CMPC).
The 29-year-old former anthropology student, who later joined the Mapuche struggle through CAM (Coordinadora Arauco Malleco), was participating in the burning of a minibus, a skidder and a tanker at around 5pm on the Santa Ana-Tres Palos estate when he was shot in the head at close range by carabinieri charged with protecting the interests of the loggers. Another saboteur and an employee were also wounded by bullets in the exchange of fire, and the public prosecutor’s office was quick to speculate that the bullet that sent the latter to hospital came from the M16 held by Pablo Marchant.

Melilla: 119 migrants manage to enter the Spanish border

A group of around 200 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa tried to scale the metal fence separating Morocco and Melilla at around 4.30am on Monday 12 July, Spanish authorities told AFP.
The Spanish Civil Guard and Moroccan police quickly mobilised to try to stop them, but 119 people managed to force their way through and enter the Spanish territory. Five civil guards and one migrant were injured in the operation.
The 119 migrants were immediately taken to the Temporary Stay Centre (CETI, detention centre) and placed in a special area to be tested for Covid-19.

5 years of traveling with you – hugging words from nowhere

My dearest,
Consider yourselves embraced with each written word! It has been some time since I whispered something to you from a secret path from nowhere. But as they say: good things need time.
In my thoughts I cheerfully fire volleys of questions at you – how are you, what are you busy with, what’s happening at home, and and and… I would question you relentlessly to the wall and for every answer, ten new questions would arise from my side in the naive belief that in this way we will at some point reach the ground. And every time again this delusion would be replaced by the most beautiful of all realizations; there is no ground that limits our relations and connections. There exists only infinite depth.
