Five years after the evacuation of Bois Lejuc: ANDRA’s Flux branch burnt down in Osne le Val near Bure.
It took two decades of struggle to create a situation allowing an open balance of power against the CIGEO project with the occupation of Bois Lejuc, which was defended for nearly two years under pressure and attacks from ANDRA mercenaries* .
It has now been five years since this front line broke following the violent and brutal eviction of the occupiers by 500 gendarmes on February 22, 2018 and, with it, a central place of resistance disappeared.
What followed was an unprecedented wave of repression in the region; Surveillance, raids, arrests, trials, prison sentences and other repressive instruments implemented have prevented and made difficult an offensive reorganization of the struggle.
The psychological wounds left by this difficult and traumatic time are slowly healing and there will forever be a scar in our hearts. Despite the evacuation of the forest, the resistance continues today on many levels.
