Welcome to the book fair on 17 and 18 May 2025! (Gent,Belgium)

The sun is shining again and the anarchist book fair is back! The 21st edition already.

We still want to celebrate the paper in our hands, far away from
the digital nightmare that creeps into our most intimate circles. At
the book fair, you will find plenty of other publications besides books, brochures, pamphlets, posters and stickers. From old novels and revolutionary classics, across philosophy and poetry to
contemporary social criticism or the latest calls to struggle: they
start from the will to radically change the world. They share ideas and try to deepen them. Ideas: not marketable, like-able, goody-goody opinions without commitment.

But the book fair is much more!

The anarchist book fair is also an international gathering of
anarchists and anti-authoritarians, with formal and informal
discussions. We want the book fair to contribute to strengthening the anarchist movement here. We see it as a tool to deepen ideas, an opportunity to launch proposals and to forge links
between individuals and groups. We want to share our passions with
each other and create a context where words and deeds dance together and reinforce each other.

The Anarchist library is closing permanently due to the closure of The Field which has kindly hosted us since August 2023. (South London,UK)

The last normal Touchpaper opening will be Tuesday 22nd April. After this we will not have a permanent place for the library or discussions (for the foreseeable future).

But TOUCHPAPER DISTRO will continue! And TOUCHPAPER ‘SOCIAL STUDY CIRCLE’ will start meeting soon, in whatever places we can find to gather in.

FOR MORE ATTACKS AND HATE AGAINST EVERY STATE

In February 2025, the public prosecutor of Munich again carried out a repressive operation  against anarchists, this time in the form of raids and arrests. The Bavarian police state, embarrassed by anarchist publications and anonymous attacks, invents accusations and looks for suspicious individuals to blame. The anarchist agitation of recent years has developed a subversive reach that is difficult to assess but certainly is uncontrollable. Anarchist ideas spread on paper and put into practice can prove to be a dangerous mixture contributing to the spread of social revolt.

During these raids, the cops arrested our comrades, N. and M. who are currently still held in pre-trial detention. The reason: an ongoing case which suspects the comrades of having been part of an alleged editorial team, declared a criminal organisation, for the anarchist newspaper Zündlumpen. The invention of this accusation led to several raids in 2022, the confiscation of an entire print shop and the closure of the Munich anarchist library Frevel.

Like every March 29, with greater or lesser intensity, the Day of the Youth Combatant is commemorated in different points of the territory dominated by the chilean state. This year the date fell on a Saturday, leading high school students from the Liceo de Aplicación, Liceo Manuel Barros Borgoño, INBA, Liceo 1, Instituto Nacional and Liceo Eduardo de la Barra (Valparaíso), university students on the campuses of Juan Gómez Millas, Universidad de la Frontera (Temuco) and Universidad de Playa Ancha (Valparaíso), and comrades in general to start riots and confrontations with the police in high schools, universities and in the center of Santiago on Thursday the 27 and Friday the 28. Various gestures of agitation also accompanied these days.

On the night of Saturday the 29, the streets Cerro Navia, Estación Central, Quinta Normal, San Bernardo, Huechuraba, Peñalolén, among others, were lit up. Comrades confronted the police with molotovs, stones and homemade or industrial guns in a new commemoration of the Day of the Youth Combatant in combative memory of Eduardo and Rafael Vergara Toledo, Luisa Toledo, Mauricio Maigret, Claudia López, Mauricio Morales, Sebastián Oversluij, Luciano Pitronello, Belén Navarrete. They along with many other dead comrades still remain present through anarchist action, absolutely removed from any iconic or symbolic role or elements of admiration.

Anarchists fight against poverty and enslavement, in spiritual as well as material form. Our struggle – which takes freedom and self-responsibility as both means and ends – has been expressed as an ecstatic “Yea to life”, as an unleashing of the “creative nothing” of individual uniqueness, and as “the conquest of life and the realization of our dreams.” Therefore anarchists have always been heretics and blasphemers, deserters of all orthodoxies, enemies of clerics, and sometimes burners of shrines and temples.

 But anyone who loves freedom and dignity can find no complicity among atheists who replace religion with the worship of scientific and technological progress – which has colonised and devastated the whole planet to feed its ghostly meat-grinder, the economy.

 The author of a new book, “Warlike, Howling, Pure” (Contagion Press, 2024), will present some stories of rebels who have fought against domination, with looted weapons or bare hands, armed also with spiritual convictions that animated their fight against colonisation and domestication.

No, it wasn’t a carneval committee, that of the 26th of February 2025 which presented itself in eight different localities at around10pm, with 140 clowns in masks flaunting weapons and performing pathetic sketches. No, they were cops. And no, their exaggerated spectacle was anything but amusing, because it led to the arrest of our anarchist comrades M. and N.

Below, we are reporting more details about the searches, the arrests and the preliminary proceedings.

Two arrests, three preliminary proceedings

There are three different procedures:
– The procedure, known since 2022, is against the presumed editors of Zündlumpen [ndt. German language anarchist paper published between 2019 and 2021] on charges of criminal association. The arrest warrant for M. and N. was issued during this procedure. Those under investigation in this investigatory strand are three in all (then they became four, now they are three again). Speeches of the Imprisoned Anarchist Comrades Dimitra Z. and Marianna M. for the Demonstration in Solidarity with Daniela Klette in Berlin. (Germany)

On February 22, 2025, a demonstration took place in Berlin in solidarity with Daniela Klette, who is currently imprisoned in Vechta prison awaiting her first upcoming trial.
On this occasion, the anarchist comrades Dimitra Z. and Marianna M., who are currently in Korydallos prison, sent speeches that were read out.

Statement of Dimitra Z.

On the 26th of February, last year, and after 3 decades of being in underground, Daniela Klette was arrested in the center of Berlin and was transferred to the Vechta prison. The accusations that the comrade has to face in the trials are the participation in armed bank robberies as well as the participation in some of the attacks with the armed organization RAF. It is worth to mention the way of the arrestment of Klette, that some journalists played the role of the cop and with the help of artificial intelligence they used an old photography of her and assimilated how she could look like today with the result to detect her in a random picture on facebook. The whole operation of the arrestment of Klette was reminding the manhunting of the 70s and 80s and it came to the front the myth of RAF. The state propaganda played a huge role in all the mainstream media by reliving the narratives of the past by mirroring the personalities of the fighters, depoliticized their actions and calumniated them.

However the comrade Klette (as well as the comrades Ernst-Volker Staub and Burkard Garweg, who are still in underground) managed for 34 years to live free in the heart of the beast being unobserved from the radar of repression. Their life is a proof that the so called powerful german state is a narrative that comes from their own propaganda and is nothing more than a house of cards. Even though the high developed technologies of surveillance, the uncounted of specialized units of repression, LKA, BKA, specialized scientists and technocrats and the militarized equipment, the comrade managed in these three decades to humiliate them by living in the center of Berlin, in Kreuzberg, one the most surveilled neighborhoods of the city.

In March 1921, in the Russian naval town of Kronstadt, tens of thousands of workers, sailors and soldiers rose up against the red butchers of the ‘commissarocracy’, which had strangled their three-year-old revolution.

There was revolutionary self-organisation, mass desertion of the Communist Party, and a fight to the death.

Their love of freedom, dignity, revolutionary solidarity and social justice was poison and dynamite to the bureaucratic and political masters who slaughtered them. Those slaughterers helped to build the world of mechanised obedience that we live in today. But as an insurgent wrote at the time, “no one has the power to kill an idea”.

A ROAR BETWEEN ANIMALS

On March 18, 2015 anarchist and anti-speciesist comrade Javier Recabarren died after being run over by a transantiago bus on the intersection of Radal and Alameda, Santiago.

Javier, who was only 11 years old, had already participated in various anti-authoritarian initiatives, solidarity activities, meetings, demonstrations, masking up and confronting the bastard police. A slap in the face to anyone who thinks that you have to be a certain age to choose the path of conflict.
