During the march for the anniversary of 17 November in the centre of Athens a slogans were written against the 41bis regime and in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito. One slogan was written on the historic building of the National Bank of Greece

and the other one at  the Italian embassy, despite the suffocating presence of the riot police that followed the anti-authoritarian and anarchist blocks.

Athens: On December 1, the court will decide whether the hunger striker comrade will be released from his 41 bis status, and on December 5, the court will decide whether to continue  the charges against him under Article 285.

As the “Assembly of Solidarity with the imprisoned, fugitives and persecuted militants”, we stand in solidarity with his struggle and call for a gathering  in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito on 30 November, 18:30, at the Italian Embassy in Athens.

On 16 November, the appeal trial of 11 political prisoners from Turkey Ali Ercan Gökoğlu, Burak Agarmış, Hasan Kaya, Sinan Çam, Şadi Naci Özpolat, Halil Demir, Anıl Sayar, Harika Kızılkaya, Hazal Seçer, Sinan Oktay Özen and İsmail Zat, who have been imprisonment in Greek prisons since 19 March 2020, will begin.

During their trial in a special court, they were not allowed proper interpretation, the testimony of defence witnesses was interrupted several times by the court, they were attacked by the cops inside the courtroom and on 17 July 2021, they were sentenced to 33 years in prison each one, the main charge of participating in a “terrorist organisation”.

NOVEMBER 6, ROME – SABOTAGE OF TRAIN LINES IN SOLIDARITY WITH ANARCHIST ALFREDO COSPITO

On the night of November 6, we sabotaged high-speed rail and other train lines in several places in the city. Writings against 41 bis were left at the site. The goal of this action was to give visibility to the struggle of Alfredo and the other prisoners on hunger strike. The action, despite being successful (we verified that there were heavy delays to circulation the following day) was silenced by the media.

We recognize the state and its institutions responsible for Alfredo’s condition and health, and these attempts to invisibilize his struggle will not stop us: we will continue to stand by Alfredo because his struggle is our struggle.

In the night of 5th November 2022 we set fire to a number of trucks belonging to the MARR. MARR is a company that has been involved in the supply of meals to prisons and expulsion centres for migrants for years. Its profits come from the reclusion of thousands of people.

We did this for all the meals of shit they have delivered.

It is for all the people who fall ill due to unhealthy alimentation in the structures supplied by this company.

And it is above all for those who have chosen to struggle in prison, precisely by renouncing food.

Text of Solidarity for the comrade Alfredo Cospito by the members of Revolutionary Struggle Pola Roupa and Nikos Maziotis

The physical and moral extermination of revolutionary fighters and political prisoners, or the coercion of them into political renunciation and repentance, has been the goal of the State and capital throughout time. In order to achieve this aim, States have created special conditions of detention and isolation for those who took up arms against the regime, for those they call “terrorists”.
One example of special detention today is the Italian model under Article 41 bis. Under Italian law, the Minister of “Justice” is given the right to lift the rules of treatment of some prisoners and order their transfer to special conditions of detention. The special conditions based on Article 41 bis impose complete social and sensory isolation, limiting contacts with other prisoners, limiting visits to one (1) per month with relatives, not by physical contact but through a glass partition, limiting, prohibiting, correspondence and the possession of books, shrinking prisoners’ exercise period to one (1) hour per day and increasing the time of confinement inside the cell.
These conditions are a form of torture aimed at crushing militant prisoners and in general those under this regime.

Anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito, who is convicted for actions of the Informal Anarchist Federation (FAI-Informale), has been under this regime since May 5, 2022 in Bancali prison (in Sassari) in Sardinia on orders of the former Minister of “Justice” Marta Cartabia. The comrade has been on hunger strike against the solitary confinement regime since 20th October.Three comrades have also been on hunger strike in solidarity with comrade Alfredo, Juan Sorroche since October 25th, Ivan Alocco imprisoned in France since October 27th and Anna Beniamino since November 7th.
This repressive policy of States using special conditions of detention is something that has been going on for decades and has developed and grown.

Genoa, Operation Prometeo: Monday 14th November at 10am, solidarity presence at the court of Genoa

Presence in solidarity with Beppe, Natascia and Robert, still accused after the acquittal in first instance of having sent an explosive package to the ex-director of the DAP, Santi Consolo, and to two public prosecutors in Turin, Roberto Sparagna and Antonio Rinaudo, responsible for the conditions inside the prisons and the repression of many struggles.

In an increasingly hard moment for all prisoners; faced with the fact that prison sentences for revolutionaries are now around 30 years for actions that, incidentally, only resulted in damage to structures; that an anarchist comrade has been transferred to regime 41 bis (total isolation, the same as that previously imposed on communist revolutionaries) and that the only option for them is hunger strike, we express our closeness to the accused in this umpteenth trial.
