October 31 forever etched in the heart of every fighter. With anger and determination we stand by our comrades
On 10/31/24, after an explosion in an apartment in Ampelokipis, our anarchist comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris fell in the battle for social and class liberation, while our anarchist comrade Marianna M., who was also in the apartment, ended up in the Annunciation hospital with multiple injuries. Two more people were arrested at the same time, and taken to the investigator, with the comrade Dimitris and the anarchist comrade Dimitra being remanded in custody. While remaining a multi-injured patient for 15 days in Evangelismos hospital and just one day after the second operation in a row, on the morning of Friday 11/15 the anarchist comrade Marianna was transferred to Korydallos prison.
The pressures of the anti-terrorist trash, which work in close cooperation with the investigator who has taken over the case had resulted in the comrade being discharged and taken to the women’s prison of Korydallos, where there is not even a hospital and therefore the possibility to she is provided with appropriate care for her injuries. We make it clear in all directions, whatever happens to our comrade will have consequences and will not be left unanswered. Such impositions of state power are clearly torture.
On Friday 1-11-2024, after an adjournment, the trial of the arrested comrades from the battle of the Squatted Prosfygika* on the 22nd of November 2022, resumed. The proceedings of this second trial began with the last defence witness, psychiatrist and scientific director of the18 ANO Addiction Unit until her retirement, Katerina Matsa. Her contribution was quite important, as she described in a direct and experiential way her relationship with the community of Squatted Prosfygika, from the point of view of the rehabilitation unit and the psychological support committee that undertakes and carries out issues related to the mental empowerment of our fellow human beings in need.
Through her testimony, Katerina Matsa highlighted the moral value that comes from mutual help, a value that is expressed through the neighbourhood relationships. She pointed out the open character of the community, which in fact is embodied in various forms of self-organisation (e.g. by producing conversations and debates around social issues, etc.). In addition, reference was made to the general socio-political framework of agreement between people who come to participate and support the community, without necessarily being residents -without borders-, thus making it clear that solidarity functions in an exemplary manner and in line with the moral content of everyday life in the Prosfygika neighbourhood. Finally, reference was made to the redevelopment plans and how they are related to the raids-interventions of the cops, whose only purpose is the destruction of an entire neighbourhood of equal coexistence and collective struggle.

We were horrified to learn of the explosion on October 31, where Kyriakos X. died and Marianna M.. was seriously injured. Our hearts stand by the people who were close to them and who now have to deal with severe repression while grieving.
We are angry and disgusted by the actions of the Greek state, which immediately began to take advantage of this tragedy to attack the anarchists. The state’s efforts to isolate and silence our comrades and break the bonds between us will strengthen them and further spread the ideas and struggles of our comrades.
The desire to spread rebellious ideas rips like a wind, uncontrollable and unconceivable, beyond borders, laws and every attempt to intimidate us.

On November 18, comrade Nikos Romanos is also arrested in connection with the same events. Nikos Romanos held his friend and comrade Alexis Grigoropoulos in his arms as he took his final breath on December 6, 2008, assassinated by the bullet of a special state officer.
In the years that followed, the Greek anti-terrorist agency repeatedly targeted Nikos and other anarchists, imprisoning them with fabricated evidence in an effort to suppress the blooming anti-authoritarian social movements. Nikos Romanos spent years as a political prisoner, held hostage by the state, before being released in recent years.

On Monday 11/18 in the afternoon, the comrade Nikos Romanos was arrested outside his house. The reason was the – completely accidental – finding of a fingerprint on the outside of a bag in the apartment of Ampelokipi, which was flattened by the explosion.
The communicated as “successful” process of isolating a fingerprint, which refers to a known fighter, as well as the construction of an upgraded prosecution based on a mobile object of everyday and widespread use, cannot but be part of the long-term strategy of repressive mechanisms targeting fighters of the antagonist movement, confirming the “communicating vessels” narrative by catching suspects and condemned comrades from the famous “known and unknown tank” of the GADA archives.

At midnight on 11/10 as an act of revenge in honour of the countless victims murdered by the Greek police, an explosive device was placed in an investigative van in Messolonghi, resulting in the vehicle’s partial destruction. The next morning there is a crescendo of panic in the local media and its reach rapidly extends nationwide. Almost a month later, specifically on 7/11, the Greek police arrest a 17-year-old anarchist comrade as a suspect in this particular attack. News of his arrest was greeted with cheers by the Aetolian Police Officers Association crediting the local police for solving the case. The arrested person was immediately charged with arson, explosion, manufacture and possession of explosive materials as well as damage to foreign property.
After the search carried out in his home, the serious findings found and deemed incriminating for the “falsification” of the case file are posters, brochures, fliers and banners. Here too, it is worth pointing out that on 8/11, during his transfer to the courts of Messolonghi, a police operational show was set up, with the assistance of forces from all over the prefecture.
Actions of solidarity with N. Romanos
On 18/11, the anti-terrorist police arrested N. Romanos on the grounds of a connection to the Ampelokipi case. His arrest was ordered due to a fingerprint found in a bag inside the apartment.
So there is “evidence” in an apartment that had been completely altered by the explosion, putting it at the centre of yet another state crackdown. After all, the state apparatus is accustomed to using various methods (e.g. DNA, anonymous phone calls, etc.) to implicate militants and insurgents in tales of “terrorism” and then imprison them, repeatedly showing its vindictiveness and its attempt to exterminate them.

On Thursday 7/11, the comrade K.K. was arrested in the city of Messolongi. His arrest took place on the occasion of the arson of a police vehicle, about a month ago, outside the A.T. Messolongi (western Greece).
In the absence of evidence the comrade is accused of arson, explosion, manufacture and possession of explosive materials as well as damage to foreign property.

For this day, the was a call for an international of day of action and in memory of the anarchist comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris.
They took their anger at the ongoing militarisation, genocides and the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the german army to the streets.
At the sides, numerous leaflets were distributed against militarisation, the german army and in memory of the deceased anarchist comrade Kyriakos Xymitiris who lost his life in an explosion on the 31stof October in Athens – as well as calling for solidarity with the anarchist comrade Marianna M., who was injured in the incident and is now in prison, and the anarchists Dimitris P. and Dimitra Z., who were also imprisoned in connection with the explosion.
