Mettmann (Germany): three cell towers up in smoke, “Switch Off Everything”!

[Note of Sans Nom: In Germany’s seventh-largest city, Düsseldorf, located in the North Rhine-Westphalia region, the “Angry Birds Commando” has been regularly generating conversation in recent years. In August 2024 for example, it claimed responsibility for setting fire to railway signal cables in Mettmann, adding to its previous sabotage attacks on rail traffic: one in Düsseldorf in January 2024,and five others in the same city claimed in May 2023.

The Megamachine spreads its devastating skewers in all directions:
towards the ocean floor, other planets, and the last remaining areas of wilderness on Earth. There are many places to take a stand against a suicidal culture which, if not thwarted, will not stop before all known lifeforms have been consumed by runaway technological expansion. Not least of all in the Rhineland, so-called Germany, a European heartland of industry and extractivism.

Situated between Aachen and Cologne, the Hambach coalmine is the largest in Europe – and it is getting bigger every day. Run by the
mega-corporation RWE, this toxic pit supplies nearby weapons factories with electricity, pumps out untold quantities of carbon dioxide, and swallows forests and villages whole. There could harldy be a more concise image of what the expansion of civilisation looks like.

A69 freeway: two arsons targeted the construction site, according to prime contractor Atosca

Ouest France, June 10, 2025

On Monday June 9, 2025, two fires destroyed bridge formwork on the A69 motorway construction site, according to Atosca, the main contractor and future operator for this disputed freeway.

“These are acts of vandalism that took place over the weekend, arson,” explained a company spokeswoman. She added that the fires had occurred on Monday morning, one in the commune of Vendine (Haute-Garonne) and the other in Teulat (Tarn). “These are formworks [around bridges under construction] that were completely destroyed by the flames, and this will force us to redo them”, she added, indicating that the company had “lodged a complaint”. Two years of Switch-Off – an evaluation

April 2024

It has been two years since we first spoke. The call was made in the middle of the ongoing strategy debate in the climate movement. At that time, after Hambi, Danni and directly after Lützerath, the potential of mass actions seemed to have been exhausted for many. In the context of these and other climate protest and mass actions, we wanted to propose a project with a focus on decentralized and direct actions.

At this point in time, the view of and fear of the impending climate collapse made it clear to us that radical methods and an intensification of revolutionary practice within the climate movement were urgently needed.

We formulated anti-state, autonomous, anarchist perspectives on sabotage and wanted to incorporate these more strongly.

In terms of content, we focused on an anti-colonial and technology-critical analysis. We were inspired by indigenous struggles and their practices resisting against (neo-)colonial exploitation and the destruction of their territories. Colonial exploitation is not only part of the racist ideological history of the West, but continues to be part of the economic and imperialist expansion efforts of large corporations such as Deutsche Bahn with the Tren Maya megaproject. With our analysis and call, we stood in solidarity with international struggles. In the ongoing destruction of the earth, we saw the necessity of attacking industrial infrastructures and the possibilities of a strengthening international points of reference in these struggles.

Anti-militaristic attack on army collaborators, Amazon and Telekom

Last night, several vans belonging to Amazon and Telekom were set on fire in the south (Britz district) and east (Lichtenberg district) of Berlin. Neither fences nor cameras were able to prevent anti-militarists from attacking these two army collaborators. Both companies benefit enormously from widespread militarization and wars. That’s why it’s appropriate to sabotage them.

Instead of a champagne reception, we chose to celebrate the opening of Amazon-Tower with the carcasses of burned out cars. But we don’t find this hideous building to be sickening only because of its impact on the neighborhood, but also because of all the other dirty tricks up the tech giant’s sleeve, and especially because of its active participation in war and genocide. Amazon’s servers and Cloud Services are used by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to store the huge amounts of data resulting from mass surveillance of the Palestinian population. With its subsidiary, Amazons Web Services (AWS), Amazon is one of the IDF’s partners. In 2021, AWS, Google and Microsoft signed contracts for the IDF to use their servers (Project Nimbus). Since the Israeli invasion and the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip that has resulted, the IDF needs much greater computing capacity to employ its military AI programs (Lavender, Where’s Daddy?).

(Netherlands ) Animal Liberation Front attacks slaughterhouse.

In early hours of 10th June 2025 the Animal Liberation Front carried out an attack on Slaughterhouse Plukon in Oosterblokker, Netherlands. 9 chicken transportation trucks and one van were completely burned down. (via: https://indymedia.nl/node/55854)

Factory manager Erlend Beltman reports to De Telegraaf (media) that he suspects arson and points to a freshly sprayed logo of the radical action group Animal Liberation Front (ALF) on the dumpster next to the fire.

The damage is estimated at more than 2 million euros. Plukon said they are investigating how they can restore logistics and limit the impact on their transportation and killing of chickens. At the time of the fire, the site was deserted.

“An extra eye on the network”: how SNCF is using drones to monitor its railway tracks

The rendezvous is at 11pm in the middle of nowhere, in an undisclosed location. There, on the eve of major departures for the long weekend, the SNCF is organizing a rather special surveillance operation, using a drone at the intersection of several high-speed railway lines. High-quality equipment resembling a small plane, capable of flying more than 100 meters above the ground and more than ten kilometers away from its pilot, making it invisible to even the sharpest eyes. Equipped with a thermal sensor and able to see “as in daylight” despite the advanced darkness, it can spot the slightest intruder as well as confirm that the catenaries and other technical installations are in a good condition. “The advantage of the drone is that it can monitor a large area in a very short time, and possibly detect anything abnormal,” explains SNCF Réseau’s Executive Vice President Projects, Maintenance and Operations Olivier Bancel.

The aim of this operation? To prevent the slightest risk in these tense times, but above all to communicate the SNCF’s ability to take advantage of new technologies to protect its 28,000 kilometers of track. As we watch, the exercise begins shortly before midnight, and the drone takes off. A few meters away, the aircraft spots an unmarked car in the vicinity of an SNCF critical juncture that, on the face of it, has no business being there. On the ground, the telepilot indicated this disturbing presence to the rail safety authorities, who immediately took over and sent a team to check it out. Five minutes later, the verdict was in: “all’s well”. “That’s the end of the exercise for us,” says railway safety officer Sébastien Conseil, team leader for the evening. Although this was just a practical exercise, the SNCF assures us that it carries out “doubt verification almost every time a drone is deployed”.

Jonquières (Oise): severing the arteries of data (France)

In the south-east of Oise, more than 10,000 households without internet after an act of vandalism

During the night of May 22 to 23, a major service outage affected the south-east of the Oise region, depriving more than 10,000 homes and businesses of internet, fixed telephony and television, and disrupting the mobile network.

According to Orange, the incident took place between midnight and 1am. The perpetrators opened underground access hatches and vandalized the cables. However, the cables were not stolen. In the process, they cut the optical fibers, causing the major outage. Around a hundred communes were affected, notably in the Crépy-en-Valois area and in the Compiégnois region, around Jonquières.

Spectrum says vandalism caused an outage for some of its customers across Kansas City on Friday.

Several agencies across the region reported communications issues due to the vandalism on one of Spectrum’s fiber lines.

“These acts of vandalism are not only a crime, but also affect our customers, local businesses and potentially emergency services,” a Spectrum spokesperson said.

Houdremont (Belgium): sabotage of wind turbine project

An unusual act of vandalism took place last weekend in the heart of the Ardennes countryside, in such a remote part of Houdremont (Gedinne) that the crime was only discovered yesterday. The measuring mast installed a few weeks ago as part of the wind farm project in the communes of Bièvre and Gedinne had been blown down. Some ill-intentioned person had cut the cables holding up the 80-meter tower. The wind is said to have done the rest.

For us, animal farms are prisons, in which hundreds of millions of
animals around the world are forced to endure a life with the sole aim of exploitation by humans for their milk or eggs and their death for their meat and skin. And all this to end up to the human consumers.

Snails are the only animals sold live in supermarkets. Most are hibernating, huddled together somewhere next to the vegetables. A few have woken up and are sticking out their antennae that find stacked shells and nets. If they had a voice, you would pay attention to them. Somewhere between fasting, gourmetism and Cretan tradition, the next stage is to buy them, soak them, get rid of the dead ones and boil the rest alive.

We “see” the rest of the animals in the supermarket dead in the refrigerators and on shelves. Their chopped and packaged bodies and derivatives are passed by in the aisles, since for the depraved human-consumer, this horrible reality is a common sight. Their corpses are completely disconnected from the animal itself that was tortured and killed in order for civilized man to buy it, without dirtying his hands or his conscience. As objects, the other animals are placed as marketable products, all at his disposal always according to his pocket, to cover his imaginary needs.
