These days, with deep sorrow and bitterness, we went to the cemetery to say goodbye to the body of an anarchist comrade who died in a work accident.

An explosive device was unable to keep him away from all of us 13 years ago, when it exploded while he was installing it.

He survived, despite the severity of his injuries, and spent more than 80 days in hospital, fighting to stay alive. His body was left with deep mutilations and scars… and he kept fighting. He faced a trial, media exposure to the point of exhaustion, was convicted and kept fighting.

He stole 13 years from death and in that time he built various projects, spaces, libraries, activities, did and undid, got closer to comrades, distanced himself from others, but an accident at work separated Tortuga from all of us.

Waiting for the anarchist guerrilla…

Spring 2024, the situation is unbearable. Fascism has conquered the minds of many people, not only in the territory controlled by the German State. The rulers of many countries seem to be on a death trip; hot wars between States, wars against migration, war against the planet’s resources and social war are in a phase of enthusiasm for death, reminiscent of descriptions shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. Meanwhile, humanity has its fingers glued to smartphones, numbed by the flickering of algorithms.

As for the hot wars, many anarchists remain in the spectator position. In one of these wars, there are good reasons to join the Kurdish structures and be active against the Turkish State and its Islamist proxies. There are also good reasons to stay away from the PKK’s cult of personality and instead attack Erdogan’s interests in Europe, although the initial waves of action here have subsided considerably. The anarchist space has also not yet developed any practice against the State systems that are largely responsible for the current massacres (NATO/EU/Israel/Iran/Russia) or the war profiteers that is capable of influencing the course of history.

Now, a text published on March 2, 2024 under the title “Developing Incisive Capacity: Making Actions Count”1 raises questions that are certainly relevant to many of us:

What could equip anarchists to carry out more significant strikes, to hone a quality of action that goes beyond the symbolic? What are the current obstacles to anarchists developing a capacity for action on a significant scale, organized in small autonomous groups that can coordinate around a particular focus? In other words, what needs to happen for more anarchists to establish the necessary skills and a certain routine for attacking identified vulnerabilities?

To answer these questions not only theoretically but also practically requires nothing less than an anarchist guerrilla. For with the methods developed in the autonomous movement over the last few decades, we have come no further than exactly where we have been for some time now. In order not to indulge in lengthy analyses, which could hardly be more appropriate than issue 2 of the newspaper “Antisistema”, spring 2024, please refer to this issue.

products. Rail is a primary method of transportation of materials for the industry that makes war possible.

The night of Saturday, August 3, accompanied by the forces of the river, we decided to attack the “Melon” Cement factory and the “Río Maipo Aggregates S.A.” company.(1) located in the surroundings of the mouth of the Maipo River. We aimed to paralyze their functioning, entering both premises and igniting their lines of production, logistics and administrative offices using 10 incendiary devices, leading to the total destruction of the facilities of the location, and so consolidating our third act of sabotage with significant damage to factories that prey on and threaten the life along the Maipo River. This act returns part of the decades of harm that they have caused to the land and the environments in which they operate, as a way of contributing to the struggle against devastation. To the destruction of the earth and our lives, the only way we can respond with dignity is through the total destruction of that which destroys it.

On Wednesday, August 14 a group of masked comrades left the Juan Gómez Milla campus to block the street and burn a Red bus of the 506 route on Avenida Grecia, attaching themselves to the campaign against the isolation of comrade Francisco Solar.

In response, COP entered the campus and the Public Minister instructed the audience of the Carabinero Criminalistic Laboratory (Labocar) and the OS-9 to search for suspects and evidence. As of the publication of this notice there have been no arrests.

The advance of Bauer AG’s drills and diggers into the most remote parts of the planet never bodes well, and often heralds the end of the diversity of flora and fauna in favor of a gray misery of steel and concrete.

“What we do today determines what tomorrow’s world will look like”.

This seemingly innocuous statement by the CEO of Bauer AG represents a serious threat to everything that doesn’t fit in with the Western idea of progress, or doesn’t want to submit to it. For wherever the much-vaunted conquests of civilization extend, there always arises a colonial mentality that wants to quantify every living thing in terms of its utility, and is obsessed with the will to dominate and control the wild and the unpredictable. But Bauer AG is not interested in any of that. It prides itself on being responsible and sustainable, reducing its environmental impact and carbon footprint through innovative solutions and digitalization.

Beating on cell bars in solidarity

May 4th, from 8.15pm to 9pm I did a battitura [beating metal object on cell bars] in solidarity with the comrades arrested during the night between 3rd and 4th May in Genoa and imprisoned in the jails of Marassi and Pontedecimo.

Today is the anniversary of Bobby Sands’ death in 1981, the Irish revolutionary who taught dignity in the prison struggle. It is right that this anniversary be remembered.

I also dedicated this small gesture to all the comrades struck by the repression these past few weeks concerning the solidarity carried out in the streets during the mobilisation for Alfredo Cospito and against 41-bis. To you my fraternal greetings with clenched fist!

Sète (Herault), France : 11th May: A third of those being held escaped from detention centre

They go through the roof to escape : ten people escape in the middle of the night from administrative Detention Centre Midi Libre/France3, 11th May 2024

A large-scale escape took place during the night of Friday 10th to Saturday 11th May, at the Administrative Detention Centre (CRA) of Sète. In fact, ten people managed to escape from the surveillance of the border police, the authority that handles this establishment situated at 15 quai Maillol, and then took advantage of the night to escape at around 2.30am. A significant event for this small centre, which has only 28 places.

According to a police source, in order to escape individuals pulled the vent from one of the rooms to access the attic. Once in the attic, they lifted up the tiles and jumped on to the roof to go down into the street below.

This is the worst kind of cowardice: kneeling in front of bosses and leaders, but leaping up to strike at anyone they fear coming from below them. Without a doubt masses of angry citizens join behind them, perhaps more hesitant to act, but no less lobotomised by fear of the outsider.

Against borders, states, homelands, armies

War is everywhere. Without ever having been absent from the capitalist world, the world of homelands, armies and borders. It has always been present, except that nowadays every “war episode” tends to acquire global dimensions with different levels of transnational involvement: from the war in Palestine, Ukraine, Yemen, to the “tension zones” that presage a future conflict (e.g. Taiwan, Guyana, Red Sea, etc.), the world map seems to be shaped by a continuous geography of war “fronts” and “rears”.

And war takes many forms: from the famous trade sanctions that create “inflationary phenomena” in primitive societies and “food crises” in the capitalist periphery, to the Western States’ war on immigrants, the military-style management of “states of emergency” (be it viruses or floods, fires, etc.), the management of social policy in police terms. What the rulers cynically call “era fluidity” is on the one hand the other name for systemic contradictions reaching a limit point and on the other, it is a clear statement to subjects: in “fluid times” our lives are sadly expendable and survival is defined in terms of probability, risk, risk. And whoever lives through it… Then comes the famous “love of country”, the need for “national unity”, to form a “national body” in danger, with the State and the army defined as its “natural protectors”.
