Solidarity with all those fighting against the war in Russia and Ukraine.

In the early hours of Thursday 24/2, the Russian state launched a large-scale attack on the Ukrainian state. A bloody war is developing with thousands of deaths, rapes, killings of civilians and destructions of the natural world.

In the Russian state, against the calls for national unity, transnational massacres and military recruiting, a war against war is unfolding. Mass demonstrations, refusals of military recruiting, armed attacks on military personnel, arson of recruiting offices are being developed. Actions that also take place are sabotage on railway lines that transport military equipment and on factories that produce war material. One of the most hopeful anti-militarism movements of recent decades is underway.

The Russian state is trying in vain to suppress this movement, by arresting and conducting express trials that imprisoned many people opposing those things, with exterminating sentences. The Moscow Anarchist Black Cross makes an international call for solidarity to those imprisoned and in complete isolation. We answer to this call and send strength and solidarity to the comrades in the prisons of Russia.

Taking responsibility by Anarchists

The use and exploitation of the urban fabric by State and capital has experienced different conditions and modes of enforcement. From metropolitan centres – factories aimed at absorbing as much of the industrial workforce as possible, to bureaucratic and decision-making centres, to amusement parks and theme parks, metropolitan centres have been points of great interest to the rulers of this world. An interest which was in turn met with resistance from the struggling sections of society. From roadblocks and barricades, clashes and demonstrations, to occupations and acts of sabotage, the social base found and continues to find ways of re-appropriating the space in which it lives, works and socialises. From the Paris Commune to the Gezi Square in Istanbul, the struggles for and within the urban fabric make up a mosaic of resistance against State and capital.

Even today, when the Athenian metropolis, with its centre at its peak, is a tourist resort reserved for the European “cream of the crop”, there are daily struggles to defend and visualise the social base. In a situation where the State with its uniformed guards is consolidating the further impoverishment and alienation of those from below, struggles such as the one in defence of Exarcheia are moments of rallying and counter-attack.

On Friday 21 October 2022 the march that started from Monastiraki towards the police station of the Omonia rapists was massive and angry. The struggle against the police State that rapes, tortures and murders must intensify.

When we got close to the police station we saw it blocked off with riot cops vans,  and many riot squads. Clashes started there with many bottles being thrown at the cops but also terrible repression from their side with lots of chemicals and chasing.

Italy: The first grade sentence concerning the trial of the”Operation Bialystok”Against Anarchists. en/el

On 29th September the first grade sentence concerning the trial following the so-called Operation Bialystok which saw 6 anarchists charged with different types of offences, from association with terrorist aims (art. 270bis cp) to terroristic attack, (art. 280 cp), from damage to arson, from incitement to commit a crime to more minor offences such as unauthorised gatherings and defacements, all aggravated with aims of terrorism.
After almost nine hours’ deliberation in the council chamber, the verdict was delivered shortly after 7 p.m.

All the accused were acquitted of the charge of conspiracy to commit terrorism, purpose of terrorism with regard to specific offences, as well as incitement offences (Art. 302 and 414 of the criminal code).

The accused who was charged with burning some car-sharing Enjoy cars property of the Eni multinational was sentenced to one year’s prison. The charge of arson was downgraded to damage followed by fire, and aims of terrorism was also excluded for this action. His sentence is suspended but he has been ordered to pay compensation to civil parties (Eni Fuel Spa and Eni Spa).

The anarchist library „Fermento“ closes its doors at the Zweierstr. 42 in Zurich at the end of October

After more than 10 years, at three different locations in Zurich, the
anarchist library „Fermento“ with the archive and the distro part will
be put into storage. Stored does not mean that it will no longer be
accessible, but there will be temporarily no more opening times and we leave the current location at Zweierstr. 42 in Zurich by the end of
October 2022.

We look back on countless meetings and discussions with people from near and far. On book presentations and film viewings, on moments where people from different struggles and projects have met to exchange ideas, on publications and a lot more…all of it, to attack the dominion with its diverse facets.

We don’t know at the moment what will happen with the anarchist library „Fermento“. But we know that we will continue to deepen our ideas to fight the authorities.

The anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito has been on hunger strike since 20th October in the prison of Sassari against the regime of 41 bis that he has been subjected to since last May, after ten years in Maximum Security. The unprecedented decision to keep an anarchist in 41 bis is just the tip of the iceberg of the authoritarian backlash in act in Italy, a backlash inaugurated with the prison massacre in March 2020, followed by investigations against trade union struggles, with logistics workers accused of ‘extortion’ against the boss because they demanded wage increases, in a particularly fierce preventive counterrevolution against the anarchist movement as indicated by the seizures of books and newspapers, the endless special surveillance, the sentencing of Juan Sorroche to 28 years’ prison and the Court of Cassation of the scripta manent trial.

THE ONLY VIABLE PATH 

Our comrade Alfredo Cospito finds himself imprisoned under the 41bis regime. This measure was ordered after months of censureship of correspondence and following the repressive operation Sibilla of November 2021, for which he received an arrest warrant in prison. Behind this repressive aggravation of Alfredo’s conditions of imprisonment there is the overt will of the State to silence a comrade who, during these years of imprisonment has contributed to the anarchist debate enormously with articles and interventions.

The 41 bis is a hard prison regime created to isolate, silence and annihilate the prisoner, in an attempt to get him to cooperate with Justice. Established in the late 1980s, it was initially applied in exceptional cases of riots or serious emergency situations within prison institutions. In 1992, after the Capaci massacre, it was extended to Mafia prisoners. Since 2002, it has also been applied to those convicted of terrorism and subversion, thus as an instrument of political repression. Some prisoners belonging to the communist organisation BR-PCC are also currently in this regime. Originally established as a detention regime of a temporary nature, from emergency to emergency, this exceptionality has become the norm. A mechanism, this one, which has become daily bread for the majority of the population since the proclamation of the so-called pandemic. It is now clear: once an emergency measure is established, there is no going back.

Hola comrades,
I am happy to take part in the anarchist book fair in Carrara, 2022, and to intervene through my friends and comrades with this pamphlet, and in the presentation of issue 14 of ‘i giorni e le notti’, an anarchist magazine of which I feel an intrinsic part.
Books, fanzines, anarchist journals…I believe that editorial collaboration, non-commercial book fairs, or collaboration in creating a book or reading it and analysing it together, is for me a process of praxis and realisation, which goes far beyond a purely mechanistic question. The relations, the relationships, the contrasts of the different individualities create a diversified whole of organic and living development in its symbiosis of unrepeatable and unique human relations and relationships.

WE DO NOT ALLOW THE MURDER OF ALFREDO COSPITO – ON HUNGER STRIKE SINCE OCTOBER 20th / CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL MOBILIZATION

On Oct. 20th, the anarchist Alfredo Cospito, during a trial at the Sassari Supervisory Court, made an attempt to read an articulate statement in which he was about to announce that he is starting a hunger strike against the 41 bis prison regime to which he is subjected and against the hostile life sentence. A battle that Alfredo does not intend to stop, until his own death. The comrade, who has been in 41 bis since last May 5th, under a decree signed by then Minister of Justice Marta Cartabia, is now being detained in the Bancali prison in Sardinia.

Alfredo Cospito is an anarchist who has always been at the front line of struggles, never willing to compromise or give up. He is a comrade who has been fighting since the late 1980s, a period in which he was imprisoned as a total objector (for refusing to serve in the obligatory military service) and who, after his arrest in 2012, during the trial that followed, claimed the responsibility for the shooting of Ansaldo Nucleare executive Roberto Adinolfi, an act that was carried out by the Cell “Olga Nucleus” / Informal Anarchist Federation – International Revolutionary Front (FAI/IRF) and occurred on May 7th of the same year in Genoa.

For the past few days in Italy, anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito has been on hunger strike against being subjected to 41 bis, the “special prison.”

Once again, Alfredo is also fighting for each and every one of us. So that we do not resign ourselves to increasing repression as a fatality.

Although my situation is far from comparable to his, I stand by his side.

Being locked up, I have limited room for maneuver. On Thursday, October 27, I therefore begin a hunger strike in solidarity with his struggle.

I am aware that my gesture is only symbolic and I do not know how long I will be able to keep it up. But I hope that this small gesture can help him in his determination.

And that the determination of all of us can turn into action.

With head held high!

A major network failure has affected hundreds of homes in the Gers since Tuesday, October 11. Customers of the operator Free are victims of a service interruption following a potential act of vandalism on a fiber optic cable, located in the town of Blagnac (31). Neither calls nor access to Internet have been possible for more than 24 hours. From Auch to Vic-Fezensac through Lectoure or Monblanc, the area affected by the incident extends over almost the entire department and beyond. Some communes in Haute-Garonne and Tarn-et-Garonne are also affected by a network failure.

Technicians were mobilized from Tuesday afternoon to identify the origin of the failure. It was in the town of L’Isle-Jourdain, using an optical reflectometer (a device to determine the integrity of a fiber optic cable) that the source of the incident was detected … 35 km away, in the neighboring department. In the early afternoon of Wednesday, a Free technician was reviewing one of the fiber installations on one of the splitters in the town of Auch, [when] one of his colleagues told him the news: the operator’s equipment had been the target of an act of vandalism. The latter also specified that the incident was detected at the level of an access ramp to the A621 freeway in the commune of Blagnac.

To our friends, the mischievous kids, we wanted to recount… one of those beautiful starry nights.

In small crew, we left at night. We walked, we crawled a little bit, we wandered around. Given that we were a little prepared, the reconnaissance had spotted everything well. We laughed, though not too much humming, maybe we were a bit stressed. But even if we hardly saw each other, we promise you that that there were smiles.

And we found on our way… a railroad track. By the greatest of the chances! Then, with the tools we had, one of the rails was… somewhat damaged. Oops! Very patiently, quietly and with all the precautions, we waited little by little … that the car jack cracks the rail! And then we left quietly, without leaving any trace.

For some, the cohesion of comradeship is built on shared positions or philosophical opinions. In an empty dimension where common words are far from action. In the guerilla war what makes us comrades is the common enlistment in this war, the choices, the hostilities behind the mound of the anarchist struggle. And when we are wrapped in chains our common component is complicity, political responsibility, unrepentant stability in the same paths. It is the dedication to the pace of the path of fire.
