Wet’suwet’en Solidarity Action to Block the Port of Montreal (Canada)

Wet’suwet’en Solidarity Action to Block the Port of Montreal

While COP15 is taking place in the streets of Montreal and the Canadian government is doing its greenwashing dance for the world, construction of the Coastal Gaslink pipeline on Wet’suwet’en territory continues against the will of the nation, whose guardians have opposed oil drilling for years. This ecocidal project threatens the Wedzin Kwa River and the wildlife of the Yintah; while Canada pays lip service to biodiversity at COP15, CGL blasts dynamite and lays pipe through Wet’suwet’en waters*, threatening already endangered salmon, eel, and other non-human life.

Faced with the resistance of the First Nations, the Canadian petro-state has deployed and continues to deploy millions of dollars** in militarized police to force the passage of this monstrous project. Everywhere else in Canada’s state-occupied lands, similar transportation and raw material extraction projects are endangering fragile ecosystems and the people who depend on them, from tar sands to the Ray-Mont Logistics project that threatens the Terrain Vague facing the Port of Montreal.

Attack with Fire for Thanos Chatzianggelou in (Berlin, Germany)

“The state is not something that can be destroyed by revolution, but it is a condition, a certain relationship between people, a mode of human behavior; we destroy it by entering into other relationships, by behaving differently.”

– Gustav Landauer

When we carried the spirit of solidarity to Berlin-Neukölln in the first hours of January 3, Thanos Chatzianggelou was in the 15th day of his hunger and thirst strike.

Our target was a truck from the car rental company Hertz, which we burned completely because Hertz – not only in Greece, but especially there – provides vehicles to the enemy (police, military, private security forces) at reduced prices. In the USA, in December, Hertz had to pay almost 170 million dollars in compensation to former customers who were falsely accused by Hertz of stealing rental cars, some of whom ended up in jail.

Demonstration in the city centre in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike to the bitter end against 41 bis and life imprisonment without possibility of parole (Milan, Italy, December 29, 2022)

Milan, Italy, December 29th, 2022

DEMONSTRATION IN SOLIDARITY WITH ALFREDO IN THE CENTRE OF MILAN

This evening [December 29th, 71st day of hunger strike by Alfredo Cospito] a presence of about 300 comrades gathered at the end of via Torino, on the edge of piazza Duomo, heavily enclosed for the occasion by almost 30 armoured vehicles and a large contingent of police agents. After an hour of speeches under the shadow of Milan’s cathedral in solidarity with Alfredo’s struggle against the 41 bis prison regime, we moved in a demonstration along the crowded via Torino. Amidst slogans, chants, firecrackers and speeches by the various groups and collectives that were present, the demonstration moved to piazza XXIV Maggio, where it disbanded.

Rome,Italy: Electric car charging points damaged in solidarity with anarchists Alfredo Cospito, Ivan Alocco and all prisoners

Electric car charging points damaged in solidarity with anarchists Alfredo Cospito, Ivan Alocco and all prisoners (Rome, Italy, December 2022)

One night at the end of December, we damaged six electric car charging points in Rome. We did this by sprinkling the sockets with expanding foam. In solidarity to Alfredo Cospito on hunger strike since October 20, to Ivan Alocco again on hunger strike since December 22, and to all prisoners.
Alfredo out from 41 bis.
Close 41 bis.
Freedom for everyone!

Greece : Financial support for court expenses of comrade Kostas K.

**The photo was taken in 2007 during the insurrection at the prison of Malandrino.

Back in the distant 2007, at a time of underlying and subtle social processes that would culminate in the December 2008 uprising, the authorities were looking after one of their favourite children. George Voulgarakis, a member of the deepest party-apparatus of New Democracy and Minister of Public Order, is caught up in the maelstrom of phone tapping scandals and ‘disappearances’ of Pakistani migrants and refugees. The state, however, always takes care of its children and Voulgarakis goes on “vacation”, away from the “hot potato” of the Ministry of Public Order, taking over the “loose” Ministry of Culture.

But some people do not forget and do not forgive. At 10:00am on July 3, 2007, a few hours after Voulgarakis and his police escort arrived at the ministry on Bouboulinas Street, they were attacked by a group of twenty comrades, with Molotov cocktails and a bag full of gasoline canisters and camping gas canisters, that fell into Voulgarakis’ own vehicle. The policemen open fire on the comrades, only thus managing to make them retreat.

In the text in which they claimed responsibility, they state:

Athens,Greece: Expropriation in a supermarket in area of Ilisia by Anarchists.

Athens, Expropriation in a supermarket in Ilisia by Anarchists

On Thursday 22 December we carried out an expropriation at the Market supermarket in the neighbourhood of Iisia and the products were shared among the people at the adjacent street market. If the legality of the State has taught us anything, it is that it can steal in a legal way. From morning to night we work grueling hours, running around like crazy and unable to make it through the month. We practically live just to work.

State and bosses devalue our entire life in every possible way. They rob us through wage labour. They execute us with the cops on the streets. They torture and rape us in the police stations. They drown us at the borders. They throw us out of our homes. This is their world of legitimacy.

Declaration by hunger and thirst striker (since 19/12) comrade Th. Chatzianggelou, of Anarchist Action Organisation, concerning attempts to force feed him

Both I and the Anarchist Action Organization have stood by the side of the struggling medical community over the years, through forms, fronts and actions of revolutionary violence that have shown solidarity in practice.

My respect for the vocation of this community of people fighting for the collective health of the social base, completely sidelined by the State and capitalist monopolies, is strictly the same.

But if they act as prosecutors in violation of my conscious will, they will see a man they have not known till now. Unfortunately for my tormentors, I still have plenty of breathing room to defend political responsibility.

The red line is in my veins. If blood is spilled, it will not be mine alone.

Salindres (Gard)France: sabotage of an electric pylon which supplies the chemical center of Arkema

Claim for the sabotage of an electric pylon
[received by mail, December 21, 2022]

We sabotaged the 225,000 Volts pylon on the main line that supplies electricity to the chemical-industrial center of Salindres (the company Arkema and others).

Method:

1) Saw the transversal bars.
Note: These are the bars that connect the legs together.
2) Saw with oblique cuts on the two legs in the direction of the fall.
Note: The pylon must fall perpendicular to the cables.
3) Saw with straight cuts on the same two legs about 30 cm above the previous cuts.
Note: Saw all the way to the end to have a fully detachable piece.
4) Strike the sawn pieces still held in place by the gravity of the pylon with a battering ram.
Note: a small tree trunk can be used
5) While the pylon is falling, move away with small steps in the opposite direction.
Note: hacksaws and oil are sufficient to perform this action.

Vitrolles (Bouches-du-Rhône): the sabotage of high voltage lines cuts power to the airport of Marseille and Airbus

Vitrolles: arson attacks on high voltage lines
BFM Provence/RMC/VA, December 20-21, 2022

Two high-voltage electrical installations were the target of arson attacks on Sunday night in Vitrolles (Bouches-du-Rhône). One of the two fires led to a power failure at part of the Marseille-Marignane airport. For the moment, these actions have not been claimed.

According to information from RMC, around 4pm on Sunday night, two high voltage electrical installations were the target of arson attacks. These actions were performed on two pylons a few tens of meters apart and led to power cuts. 9,000 households were thus deprived of power for about twenty minutes in the communes of Vitrolles, Rognac and Septèmes-les-Vallons following the damage to one of the installations.

Omar Nioi – Scripta Manent: a political trial against 20 years of history of revolutionary anarchism

Letter – Intervention of the anarchist comrade from Sardinia Omar Nioi (convicted in the trial of “Operation Scripta Manent”) at the event held in Athens (A.S.O.E.E.) on December 19, 2022 regarding the anarcho-nihilist hunger striker Alfredo Cospito.

First of all, a greeting to all the comrades who were present in this initiative, a greeting and a special thanks to the comrades who promoted it. To this day, the weaving of international relations, exchanges and comparisons continues, as in the past, to be an essential element and always a living part of revolutionary anarchism, in order to strengthen our intentions.

Scripta Manent:

A political trial against 20 years of the history of revolutionary anarchism

The events:

At dawn on 6 September 2016, 32 comrades throughout the Italian State were awakened by the civil police (DIGOS). The result of the first part of the police operation called “Scripta Manent”, ordered by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office through its investigator Roberto Maria Sparagna, is 15 suspects and 7 arrests. On the other hand, an eighth anarchist, in charge of the Anarchist Black Cross publishing project (now closed), is arrested after a house search against him in which batteries and an electrician’s manual were found. In addition to comrades Alfredo Cospito and Nicola Gai, already in prison since 2012 having been tried and convicted for the injury of Roberto Adinolfi, (CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare) action taken by “Nucleo Olga of FAI/FRI”, comrades Alessandro, Marco, Danilo, Valentina and Anna are arrested. For the comrades, articles 270 bis (on association with terrorist purposes), 280 bis (on terrorist acts with lethal or explosive devices) and 285 (on massacre) are triggered for various reasons, which are in question starting from as far back as 2003 and all relating to a series of attacks specifically signed by the “Informal Anarchist Federation” through the cells FAI/Narodnaya Volya (FAI/ People’s Will), “Cooperativa Artigiana Fuoco e Affini FAI/Collaboration of Fire and Artifacts (Occasionally Spectacular))”, “FAI/RAT ((Rivolta Anonima e Tremenda/Federazione Anarchica Informale – Anonymous and Tremendous Revolt/Informal Anarchist Federation)” and “Nucleo Olga FAI/FRI” (FAI/IRF Cell Olga).

Italy: Update about the health condition of Alfredo Cospito on the 71st day of hunger strike

Update about the health condition of Alfredo Cospito on the 71st day of hunger strike (Italy, December 29, 2022)

On December 29th, 71st day of the hunger strike to the bitter end against 41 bis and life imprisonment without possibility of parole, the antagonist radio station Radio Onda d’Urto broadcast a speech by the doctor who is regularly visiting anarchist comrade Alfredo Cospito, imprisoned in the Bancali prison in Sassari. We report a partial transcript of the speech and, at the end of the update, the recording of the broadcast (in italian language).

“[…] So, let’s consider that Alfredo is now 70 days into his hunger strike. He started from a weight of 115 kg and today he is at 84 kg. Surely he has a strong physique, he started from a fairly high weight so he has a better chance than others of being able to sustain this hunger strike. It is clear, however, that everything has an end at some point; in the sense that currently his haemato-chemical parameters are quite good, except for the fact that it is going down a bit with the electrolytes.

Tragic comedy :

Tragicomedy

She is an advisor to the Prince sent across the border, who today claims to be very ‘shaken’. Thanks to her gracious services, she thought she deserved only praise, honours, interviews, applause. She never thought she would be woken up out of the blue in the middle of the night because one of her cars had been set on fire. Never would she have thought of taking such an ‘unexpected’ ‘risk’. After all, she is only a diplomat, the foreign representative of a State. Who could ever blame her just for that?

Clearly there is – in Athens, but not only –, someone who holds every high official of State responsible for the infamies committed by the State they represent. A car engulfed in flames sufficed to irritate and upset the diplomat’s colleagues to the point of making a Greek tragedy of it (without a fatal ending, albeit, for now). Among them, there are those who declare they are ‘astonished’ at the lack of respect for institutions and those who are ‘worried’ after discovering that these are not so unreachable. But is voluntary servitude really not universal? But are the hyper-securitised neighbourhoods built by fascist regimes really not impregnable?

Athens,Greece: Claim for the incendiary attack on the Italian embassy’s First Counsellor’s car

Claim for the incendiary attack on the Italian embassy’s First Counsellor’s car

Alfredo Cospito has been on hunger strike since October 20th, against the torture regime 41 bis imposed on him by the Italian State. Alfredo Cospito has been in prison since 2012, after claiming responsibility for the wounding of Roberto Adinolfi, CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, an action carried out by the Informal Anarchist Federation/International Revolutionary Front (FAI/IRF). Ever since then the comrade has remained unrepentant and continues to be dedicated to the cause of social liberation. That is why the Italian State decided, from May 5th, to impose the 41bis regime on him, a prison within the prison, where he is held in isolation 23 hours a day, with one hour’s exercise period during which he can only meet with a restricted number of prisoners decided by the prison management.

Visits from family are limited to an encounter of one hour a month, to take place through a glass partition, and one ten-minute phone call, which a family member must make from inside a carabinieri barracks or another prison. The number of books and other printed material allowed is also limited, as is his correspondence. This prison regime, which the Italian State imposes on political prisoners through article 41bis, is now being applied throughout the whole sentence, not limited to the 4 years for which it was originally foreseen.

Update on the health condition of the Anarchist comrade Thanos Chatzianggelou on hunger and thirst strike. (Greece)

Update on the health condition of the Anarchist comrade Thanos Chatzianggelou on hunger and thirst strike.

28/12/22

After today’s blood tests done by comrade Th.Hatzianggelou, the measurements are in a very bad place. The potassium and sodium levels are very high, which causes kidney failure and at any moment he could have a heart attack.
From a legal point of view, there has not yet been any news on the proposal of the prosecutor or by the meeting of the council.
The Comrade’s demands must be met immediately!

Trento, Italy: House arrest confirmed for Massimo Passamani

Trento:  House arrest confirmed for Massimo Passamani [updated]

Tuesday 20th December, at the court of Trento, the review hearing on the pre-trial detention of Massimo Passamani took place. Outside the court, a solidarity gathering was held, followed by a short demonstration through the streets of the city centre.

On their side

The panel of judges confirmed house arrest for Massimo. Apart from the usual argument of criminal records and the tendency to reoffend, there are two noteworthy reasons for this decision. The first is that the solidarity statement to be broadcast on the radio «reports in its content the support and backing of activities of rebellion and riot by prisoners and this outside the democratically established instruments and forms of justice» (no mention from the judges, mind you, of the murders, the beatings and the torture perpetrated by the prison officers under the mandate and cover of the DAP). The second is the defendant’s failure to ‘critically review’ his own conduct. Now, that the reward logic emerges more and more blatantly – in prison as in courtrooms, at work as at school – as an established trend.
