Back off snitches, forward comrades, by anarchists

We are in a period where in the last few months alone there have been State and capitalist murders, along with the plundering of nature to serve various interests and additional restrictions and surveillance. Issues which certainly cannot leave us indifferent.

The Tempi accident, the forest fires, the murder of hundreds of migrants at the borders (see the shipwreck off Pylos), the labour “accidents” are some of the events that have taken place. Others have been “announced”, carried out and are being launched even more intensely, such as evictions, iron cladding of parks and squares (such as Park Drakopoulou, following on from Exarcheia, various squares concerning the metro, etc.), privatisations, curfews for the city’s few parks, and of course the eviction of self-managed spaces and the intensifying attack on the people of the struggle. These are the conditions we have to face.
Within this context, there have been two “rounds” of elections in which the New Democracy party won and is still in government. Thus, the state has continuity and “commitments” that continue. Repression, cops, bans, individual responsibility are the tools of the state to manage any “crisis”.

A flashback on Operation Panico

Now that the sentences of Operation Panico have been made final by the court of Cassation(https://ilrovescio.info/2023/07/15/operazione-panico-condanne-confermate-in-cassazione-paska-condotto-in-carcere-a-bologna/), it seems appropriate to remember – at least briefly – the facts for which these comrades were sentenced. We are doing this by republishing a poster spread throughout Trentino and beyond in the summer of  2019, on the eve of the first degree sentence. While the charge of criminal association fell in the second degree, and Giovanni has been acquitted for the “New Year’s bang”, almost all the other charges have been confirmed on appeal and again by the Cassation of Rome. We also recall that Paska, arrested in Bologna, has been transferred to the prison of Opera in Milan. To him and to all those sentenced our full solidarity: if they are “innocent”, they fully deserve it; if they are “guilty”, they deserve it even more!

The costs of the energy transition … and electric charging stations on fire

The exploitation of new sources of raw materials, mines and factories to implement the so-called energy transition and the shift to electrified individual transport is in full swing: megafactories exploiting groundwater; new lithium mines in Portugal; nickel and gold from stolen indigenous land in Indonesia; exploitation of vanadium deposits in Norway and rare earths on Samí territory in Sweden; cobalt from the Congo… the industrial exploitation of copper, cobalt and nickel on the seabed; the supply of hydrogen from artificial islands in the North Sea or via neo-colonial import strategies from Namibia and Chile … the costs of this energy transition and of continued exploitation are now common knowledge. The shift towards green capitalism is inevitably accompanied by a intensification of the exploitation of people and nature!

There are an infinite number of targets, means and methods for attacking, delaying and sabotaging this process.

We have chosen to focus on an infrastructure that is currently developing rapidly and is present almost everywhere: electric charging stations. They are a necessary component of the Green New Deal’s transportation shift and therefore make an ideal, low-threshold target.

The Los Angeles Fire Department’s arson team is investigating a fire that occurred Saturday night on the second floor of City Hall, authorities said.

Police believe that someone may have started the fire by throwing an unknown object through a window in the building.

“Initially it appears a suspect outside of City Hall threw an object … into the office, breaking the window and causing the fire,” said Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Officer Warren Moore. There was damage inside one of the offices, he said.

The fire alarm on the second floor was activated at 8 p.m. Saturday, Moore said.

Switch off!  – the system of destruction

About 20 people storm a construction site of the Coastal Gas Link pipeline in western Canada. They are armed with axes and flares, threaten employees, hijack heavy construction vehicles, destroy the site’s building and ultimately the vehicles themselves. The damage amounted to millions. That was almost a year ago. It is still unclear who sabotaged the construction of the pipeline in the province of British Columbia. Fracked gas was soon to flow through the pipeline, which runs right through indigenous land, to the West Coast, from where it would be shipped on to Asia.

A call…

Whether you occupy universities, schools, trees or streets. Whether you spend your nights worrying or sabotaging. Whether you strike or write about it.

The certainty that the current system will result in the collapse of the massively damaged ecosystem has already inspired countless people to resist. Tens of thousands are taking to the streets against the “business as usual” of the capitalist machinery, people are resisting the destructive large-scale projects en masse, the infrastructure of the system is being blocked and courageous fighters are setting fire to the machines that are being used to rob them of the very basis of life. What we need in the struggle against the destruction of nature and the resulting social misery is the shared pursuit of real revolutionary rupture and freedom of all. Pursuing an initiative that rejects all compromises and cosmetic corrections of the state and brings about a transformation of our social relations. Because the destruction of the planet by the neoliberal economic system is inextricably linked to patriarchal patterns of thought, racism and colonialism. The initiative for this must necessarily come from below. From the struggles of the excluded. From the struggles of those who enact a self-organized solidarity against the state’s promises of salvation. From the struggles of those who see that there can be no compromises in the fight against the systemic destruction of the biosphere.

Around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday night, July 16, a relay antenna was set on fire in Forstenrieder Park, near the town of Pullach (a southern suburb of Munich). It was at this time that the cell phone operator lost all signal, before sending a team to the site the following day at around 1pm (a Sunday), who could only observe that its installation had been burnt down during the night before the fire extinguished itself, without however completely destroying the tower.

The authorities, for their part, obviously do not presume a technical fault – the familiar police theory of the self-combustion of relay antennas is now a bit forced – but rather a “crime affecting State Security”, leading them to entrust the investigation to the K43 police station (“far-left political criminality”).

It feels like Mäurer has always been the senator for the interior, but for at least 16 years his job has been the unscrupulous implementation of the murderous European and German refugee regulations in the area of the Hanseatic city of Bremen. He was recently reappointed as the city’s chief manhunter for another four years. During his long tenure, he is responsible for thousands of deportations, arrests and imprisonments with all kinds of consequences for those affected. He has always backed murderous cops, such as the killers of Qosay Sadam Khalef and Mohamed Idrissi.

Twelve individuals witness their homes or those of their families being invaded by divisions of the ROS, looking for material that could link various people interested in the anarchist milieu. Pola Roupa: On My Extraordinary Permit and Parody-Transfer

Since summer 2022 I have been released from prison every 2 months on ordinary leave during which I travel and stay at my family home in Kalamata, where my son lives. These leaves are without police escort and control. Since so far I have enjoyed a total of 5 regular permits and I move freely wherever I want in the prefecture of Messinia and while in 1 month I will have served the sentence required for conditional leave, I requested and received an extraordinary permit of 48 hours due to a serious health problem of a relative of mine.

I was informed that the leave would be with a police escort due to its extraordinary nature and I asked that it be discreet. But instead of discreet, my transfer was made with measures I had never had before and without prior notice. Naturally, the neighborhood was upset, as were my relatives who wondered why all this had happened as I had just been in Kalamata for 3 weeks. As for the local community, acquaintances and friends in town, some treated the event with astonishment and others with acid humor, speaking of its ridiculousness.

On the afternoon of July 17, 2023, on the eve of the beginning of the trial against the anarchists Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar, we decided to carry out a solidarity action in front of the Chilean embassy in Montevideo. The purpose of this action is to demonstrate the violence and viciousness of the government in power and the justice system in general that has kept them in preventive detention for three years now, a government that even dressed in its best progressive clothes cannot hide the fact that it keeps political prisoners in its prisons.

We do so once again to affirm that there are political prisoners in Chile and to back our comrades absolutely. Their actions are framed in the struggle against the violence of the State, they took the initiative and returned the blows received.

[Switch Off The System] The Repression Against Climate Activists Will Not Go Unanswered

In recent months, the repression against climate activists in Germany has been permanently intensified. In the media coverage, the Last Generation (LG) in particular, gets the most attention. Investigations by the General Prosecutor’s Office in Munich for the formation of a so-called criminal organization, house searches, preventive detention for sit-in blockades, etc. Now the Berlin prosecutor’s office has announced that in the future, street blockaders will be tried with the so-called fast-track procedure. The Code of Criminal Procedure allows the judiciary to do this if the accusations against the accused are “suitable for immediate trial due to the simple facts or clear evidence”.

We understand the actions of the Munich and Berlin prosecutors as an attack on all activists of the climate justice movement, not only against the LG (Last Generation). Therefore, as a first reaction, during the night of July 9 to July 10, we targeted two BMW SUVs by means of an incendiary device and forced them into early retirement. This measure was suitable for immediate full retirement due to the simple facts of the case and the clear evidence (superfluous luxury cars and devastating CO2 emissions). We were inspired by the arson attacks of May 19 and July 4: E-vehicles of Stadtwerke München; a Tesla charging station + a Tesla + an electric mini.
