The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, through statements by the rector, has announced the installation of measures and means of exclusion from the campus (cameras, turnstiles). Without any prior information from the rector’s authorities and during a dead period for the campus, we noticed that “security” cameras had been installed in the administration building of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and at the entrance to the parking lot of the ceremony hall.

These are a continuation of the increasing repression that is received following any action that does not obey the wishes of the rector’s authorities and the operation of the business university. As anti-authoritarians, we defend illegal actions that constitute acts of resistance and reaction, both inside and outside universities, on student and social issues. In the context of continuing our actions, we decided not to let any camera become an obstacle.

For this reason, in the early hours of Wednesday 24/6/2026, we chose to attack and managed to break the cameras located in the administration building. Over the heads of the security guards who were at the guardhouse and fortunately for them, chose not to get involved and remained locked in their hole with the shutters down.

On the one hand, the fact that the placement of the cameras had not been announced in advance, combined with their humiliation from the action itself and their inability to deal with it, we believe led the rectory authorities not to make any announcement about the vandalism.

The ways in which cameras and surveillance measures can be tackled vary. From hammers and cutters (be careful with the current) to paint and lasers, we encourage everyone to find the tool that suits them and test it on real targets.
