Four GSRI vehicles destroyed by arson

« A clear attempt at intimidation against of a security security tool that acts daily to restore order, tranquillity and republican authority in the estates » : it is in these terms that the the Inter-landlord Residential Security Group (GSRI) reacted in a communique published on Sunday 21st December, concerning the arson carried out during the night of Friday to Saturday 20th December to four of its vehicles.
The cars, which were parked in the structure’s parking lot, in Montpellier, were completely destroyed. The fire also caused damage to the solar panels covering the parking area and the building of the GSRI situated nearby. The management of the grouping lodged a complaint on Saturday 20th December and the police inquest that began has been entrusted by the prosecutor’s office to the crime division organised by the Interdepartmental service of the judiciary police (SIPJ) of Montpellier.
Created two years ago, the GSRI is a groupement economic interest (GIE) which associates seven social landlords and the Metropolis of Montpellier.This apparatus, a promise from the campaign of Michaël Delafosse, aims to bring a peaceful climate in the estates confronted with incivilities, squats of the common areas and trafficking. Its 36 agents carriy out patrols daily between 4pm and 2am in about thirty council estates.
