In central Athens, there is a squatted community were over 400 people from 27 different regions, speaking 20 different languages live together. They have managed to create their own self-organized reality building more than 20 infrastructures to take care of their health, education, culture. In June 2025, this community received new threats of eviction. However, what the extreme right wing government of Kiriakos Mitsotakis does not understand is that inside these 8 buildings there is so much more than walls and property titles.
The squatted community of Prosfygika has been an example of how we can try to live a life with dignity against any type of authority and consumerism, defending the meaning of what solidarity is. Every state should be afraid of an example like this, since it practically and realistically proves that there is no need for a state to exist. In times when tourism has been eating us alive, buildings are full of bnbs, wages are not sufficient to cover basic needs and repression intensifies, communities like Prosfygika mean hope.
From one of the most touristic areas in Napoli, Italy we send our solidarity to the squatted Community of Prosfygika and our support to Aristotelis Chantzis, member of the community, who is on hunger strike until death since February 5th. Our common language is solidarity.

Nel centro di Atene esiste una comunità di occupanti in cui convivono oltre 400 persone provenienti da 27 zone diverse e che parlano 20 lingue diverse. Sono riuscitx a creare una realtà autogestita, realizzando più di 20 strutture per occuparsi della loro salute, della loro istruzione e della loro cultura. Nel giugno 2025, questa comunità ha ricevuto nuove minacce di sfratto. Tuttavia, ciò che il governo di estrema destra di Kiriakos Mitsotakis non capisce è che all’interno di questi 8 edifici c’è molto di più che semplici muri e titoli di proprietà.
La comunità occupante di Prosfygika è stata un esempio di come si possa cercare di vivere una vita dignitosa contro ogni forma di autorità e consumismo, difendendo il vero significato della solidarietà. Ogni Stato dovrebbe temere un esempio come questo, poiché dimostra in modo pratico e realistico che non c’è bisogno che uno Stato esista. In tempi in cui il turismo ci sta divorando vivi, i palazzi sono pieni di bnb, i salari non sono sufficienti a coprire i bisogni primari e la repressione si intensifica, comunità come Prosfygika significano speranza.
Da una delle zone più turistiche di Napoli, in Italia, inviamo la nostra solidarietà alla comunità occupante di Prosfygika e il nostro sostegno ad Aristotelis Chantzis, membro della comunità, che dal 5 febbraio è in sciopero della fame, fino alla morte. La nostra lingua comune è la solidarietà.
