Thessaloniki : Attack responsibility upheaval by Anarchists (Greece)

In the early hours of Monday, February 9, we smashed the window of the Protergia store at 183 Gr. Lambraki Street. The reason we chose this particular target is obvious. Electricity bills are getting higher every month, so that energy barons (such as Mytilineos) can get rich off our backs, exploiting our needs. The price of energy has become an economic game on the stock market over who will make the most, while the poor live in destitution, battered by the rot of this system.

The successive crises (real or fictitious) of the state and capital are taking their toll on the social and class base. It is no coincidence that during “critical” periods, as the state labels them, companies like Protergia increase their turnover and profits. The high cost of supermarket prices, rent, and electricity makes daily life a struggle for survival.

Another reason we chose to target Mytilineos is that Metlen, a
manufacturing company involved in the defense industry, is part of this group. Specifically, it supplies components for the assembly of military equipment, such as Leopard tanks or French FDI frigates. Metlen is constantly expanding, and now a fourth manufacturing facility is being built in Volos. Mytilineos and others like him are profiting from global military conflicts. They have blood on their hands.

As for the Greek state, it is involved in war zones. It is collaborating
with genocidal Israel through various methods, penetrating ever more actively into the land of Palestine. Now, in fact, it will even send a battalion of regular soldiers to Gaza.

States are rearming (through the Rearm Europe program, by purchasing new weapons, conducting joint military exercises, extending military service, etc.) and are reproducing nationalist narratives to push us to the frontlines of war, ready to die. We, as anarchists, aim to destroy authority. Let internationalist/anti-war movements flourish everywhere.

Let us become the state’s internal enemy, striking at its mechanisms,
through small and large acts of resistance. We owe it to the thousands of dead of this wretched system. We want to stop living by chance.

Because for us, the only thing that has value is life.

We will not die for their profits, for any nation or for any religion.
The people are fighting with weapons in hand, and Palestine knows this all too well.
