Shortly after 2am on Christmas day the sound of explosions woke up confused residents in Vernon BC. Could the sound be Santa stuck in the chimney? Or him trying to get his sled back on the road?
Suspicions were confirmed after a quick glance out the window, the sound did in fact have a sort of holiday cheer to it. Billowing thick smoke, a large vehicle fire was raging at Vernon’s Kia dealership. The vehicles tires or fuel tanks exploding must have caused the initial festive blast.
By the time fire crews extinguished the flames seven cars had been completely burnt and two others suffered significant damage. The fire is considered suspicious and is being investigated as an arson.
