During the night from 12 to Thursday 13 a good third of the cars inside the Tesla dealership of pennes-mirabeau (marseille) went up in flames. A firelighter placed on one of the tires was sufficient, contagion did the rest.

This Thursday 13 November, at around 3 am, about 50 fire-fighters of Bouches-du-Rhône struggled to extinguish a fire of 24 electric vehicles in the Tesla dealership parking lot, in the Sybilles business park, at Pennes-Mirabeau. Although the cars were practically burnt out, the firefighters’ massive rapid intervention saved the adjoining building and the 50 or so vehicles parked nearby. The intervention ended at about 6.30am. When we arrived on the scene this morning you could still smell the smoke and the fire. The police were on site.
According to first investigations, assigned to the Division of territorial criminality (DCT), there can be no doubt that this was arson. The Tesla headquarters in France, in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis), was trashed. The electric car constructor’s sales went down at the start of the year, before picking up again in the autumn.
