Aiguillon (Lot-et-Garonne) France : sabotaging the train service

“Let’s block everything”: an act of vandalism causes train delays in Lot-et-Garonne

An act of vandalism committed near the town of Aiguillon on the night of September 9 to 10 caused disruption to the rail network on the Agen-Tonneins line on Wednesday, September 10, alongside the “Let’s block everything” protests. An underground cable was damaged. Trains are running at reduced speed with an estimated delay of 30 to 60 minutes.

An investigation has been launched by the gendarmerie to identify the perpetrator(s) of this crime. “The prefect condemns in the strongest possible terms these malicious acts, which jeopardize the safety of people and property and disrupt the professional and private travel of all users of the public rail service,” said the Lot-et-Garonne prefecture. Service is expected to return to normal around noon.
