Today 3/5 on the underground, at the Attiki station (green line) in Athens, a person was subjected to a homotransphobic attack by three fascists for simply existing as he is. They started with mockery, threw their cigarettes at him, then the stationmaster opened the train doors again, they came out and started beating him all together [on the platform].
The racism and heterosexism of Greek society directs hatred at queers, immigrants and anyone left over from its heteronormative ethnic body. In a society with widespread transphobia, fascists and homophobes find space to attack in public, with the convenient silence of those around them becoming consent.
To national unity, to fascism, to homotransphobia we respond collectively, with solidarity, reversing fear and claiming our streets and lives back. We make it clear that on the streets we will exist as we want, wear what we want and kiss whomever we like.
