Seventeen Teslas went up in flames at the only Tesla dealership in Rome on Sunday night, Monday March 31, at around 4.30 am.

In the Torrenova district, a mix of residential and industrial buildings, the Teslas caught fire in several places, including in the dealer’s yard on via Serracapriola, and a few metres further on under the recharging shelters.

While investigators have indicated that they are not ruling out any leads, they are leaning towards arson, and as this is Italy, it is the possibility of an “anarchist attack” that has been pointed out by the press, following Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.
