Regarding the Attempted Explosive Attacks

According to prosecutor Héctor Barros, servile functionary of the State accustomed to appearing in these cases: “this operation arose in the context of an investigation for the placement of an explosive device in a car dealership which is located on 5 de Abril Street, and for planting an explosive device in a police vehicle that was registered this year”[1].

Regarding the first event, on Friday December 29, 2024, an explosive device compiled of industrial material inside of a cylinder with a clock system was found in the entrance of a car dealership on the avenue of 5 de abril at number 5757. Along with the device, pamphlets and fliers were found that said: “In the subversive struggle with our people, until victory or death. Freedom for Sergio Olivares”, “We’ll continue the subversive path. Freedom for Luis Tranamil and Nelson Queupil” and “To justice and its guard dogs- know that we are here and that we will keep taking the subversive path. All our strength and disposition with the comrades”. Hours later, a communique claiming the action appeared on the social networks of Radio Villa Francia:

“Before sunrise on December 29, we gathered to make a gesture of solidarity with the colleagues who were recently condemned by the law in the capital of chile.

15 years for Sergio Olivares, ex-militant of the MIR. Prominent internationalist combatant who during an attempted bank expropriation in 2020 killed a guard for refusing to lower his weapon.

32 years for Luis Tranamil, accused of killing the sergeant Eugenio Naín in 2020, despite not being regarded as the one who shot the bullet, nor having solid proof of his participation.

10 years for Nelson Queupil for the crimes of attempted murder against on-duty Carabineros officers and illegal possession of weapons.

These high sentences demonstrate how the state engages its justice as a method of exemplary punishment against people that decide to take the path of confrontation against the rich, against the banks, against the unscrupulous pillaging of natural resources.

The action consisted in raising barricades on the corners of 5 de Abril avenue and 2 Lienzos, plus releasing pamphlets. In addition, we planted an industrial explosive device that didn’t manage to detonate in the moment but paralyzed the sector during the day for diligence for its extraction from the place.

From Villa Francia, neighborhood located in Santiago de Chile, we send a warm greeting to the comrades who took the path of subversion until victory or death:

Sergio Olivares Urtubia

Luis Tranamil

Nelson Queipul

R.”[2]

Regarding the second act under investigation, it is known that on March 29 of this year, in the context of street fighting on the Day of the Youth Combatant, an explosive device was attached to a vehicle of the Carabineros in the Villa Francia neighborhood, “car bomb” style, but that it didn’t detonate.

Solidarity with the detained and imprisoned!
