The metro construction site is under fire
The night brings good advice
IAATA, May 19, 2024
Ecological transition and decarbonization are hammered into our heads under the guise of green capitalism. The reality is that capitalism is not a system of transition but of accumulation. 3rd metro line, LGV freeway… This system is maintained by its flows, and that’s where it finds its weaknesses.
Whether Macron likes it or not, if there’s accumulation there’s no trickle-down, it’s a fable with the same misery at the end, the rich don’t share and the poor work themselves to death. That’s why on the night of May 17 to 18 in Toulouse, a drill belonging to NGE, working on the new Toulouse metro line, was set on fire.
This gesture pays tribute to the worker who died on March 4, 2024 on the site of this metro line.
A thought of solidarity for the zadists who remain undeterred, and continue to occupy and sabotage the A69 construction site.
Strength to the Kanak rioters

Sabotage already happened in June 2023
La Dépêche, May 10, 2024 (excerpt)
An investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor’s office and should logically be entrusted to the organized and specialized crime division. In June 2023, these investigators from the former criminal investigation department were already involved in the destruction of a crane on the Ramier site, another future station on the Toulouse metro line currently under construction. Almost a year ago, on the night of June 1 to 2, one crane was damaged by fire, while another was defaced.
This act was claimed at the time. Tags identifying the action were also found on site. Investigations have not yet identified any suspects in this first case.
Toulouse metro: sabotage or accident? A machine destroyed by fire on the Line C worksite
La Dépêche, May 18, 2024
The Toulouse fire department was particularly active on Friday night [May 18]. They had to use extinguishing agents to stop the flames devouring a drilling rig. The machine was on site at the future Sept Deniers Stade Toulousain metro station in Toulouse.
The origin of the fire, which broke out at around 3 a.m. and rendered this large piece of civil engineering equipment unusable, remains uncertain. An accidental outbreak of fire in the middle of the night, several hours after the machine had ceased operation, seems “not very credible”, but “checks are necessary”, according to a source close to the case.
In recent months, several actions by activists, notably against the construction of the A69 freeway between Castres and Toulouse, have resulted in the destruction of machinery. So far, the construction site of the third line of the Toulouse metro has not been targeted by members of the radical environmental movement.
