The economic system that currently governs the territory dominated by the chilean State and practically all western States is capitalism. Capitalism, in simple terms, was founded in commerce and industry (means of production) which are organized and controlled by its owners, meaning: businessmen.

For capitalism to take root and endure over time as a political economic system, it needed a patriarchal social structure, understood as the social organization where the authority of men is exercised from the family, and reaching through all practices of domination. For this reason, it would be difficult to pose a radical, emancipator change without ending up totally destroying capitalism and patriarchy. Oppressive, authoritarian patriarchal structures have (mal)formed practically all the relations that we have with others and ourselves.

Another human is no longer another individual equal to me with whom I could share mutual support and develop ourselves completely; now the relation between these humans is subject to being put within the social hierarchy.

On the other hand, relation with other non-human beings is subordinated to the amount of economic benefit they can give me, transforming into a product of consumption. And finally, the vision that the patriarchy has created of ourselves is limited and circumscribed to imposed aesthetic, gender, etc. standards or patterns.

Obtaining the tools necessary to destroy the logics of domination, taking into account the diverse ways in which we reproduce and perpetuate the necessity of dominating and being dominated, is the task of all those of us who wager on seeing this reality burn…

Visualizing that patriarchal capitalism brings riches to a few at the cost of many lives could help identify and attack those who benefit from this system of terror.
