Facing a Covert Life Sentence, Action is Always Worth It

Did you expect anything else from Power? Although the 86 year prison sentence has provoked surprise and a certain consternation, Power acted accordingly. It has punished forceful actions aimed at its defenders and representatives, the boldness of open rebellion that struck its spaces which it believed were unassailable and also the blatant and unambiguous vindication of these attacks, demonstrating that it sees the danger that spreading ideas and action implicitly carries.

The State has acted how it is and this shouldn’t surprise us.

It proceeded how it has historically when it’s been directly attacked, when they have really felt the threat of seeing their lives at risk and when, further, it found no submission nor repentence.

Along with aiming to bury me in this place for life, this sentence clearly constitutes a bullying signal for all anarchic spaces and individuals that openly position themselves for combat insomuch as they aim to end all offensive practices that refuse to disappear and that demonstrated their reach and potentiality in the october revolt. It is, ultimately, a blow to anarchism of action as a whole that reflects the threat that this signifies for Power, which, though it seems paradoxical, shows that the insurrectional path abides by part of its proposals. The fact that they persue us, that they have been creating a specialized anti-anarquist team for years that they now replicated to fight organized crime, and that they hand out 86 year sentences, are indicators that the path of action preocupies and disturbs the powerful.

The insistence and, for moments, the intensification of anarchic action has triggered a resounding sentence that clearly has an demobilizing intention and a sense of political revenge.

Nonetheless, it’s undeniable that of late there’s been no advance in the anarchic offensive, which has presented, moreso, stagnancy and even a decline in the development and multiplication of transgressive practices. I think that this is due to multiple aspects between those who face the repressive variable as well as a post-revolt effect which, it seems, has immobilized various spaces and individuals. I believe that deepening this theme merets a more thorough analysis that us not irrelevant to carry out.

And if you ask, yes it was worth it. I respond that not only was it worth it, but it is worth it and will always be, absolutely. That making the individual decision to rebel, to claim vengence and put an end to the impunity of the powerful, if only for an instant, is one of the most beautiful moments that can be experienced. That linking word with action, overcoming the mere slogan, emptied of content, strengthens and fives meaning to an individual and collective position of conflict. That carrying the ideas to the terrain of possibility is always necessary and indispensible if one freely decides to confront Power even if the cost is decades of imprisonment and even life. Action is always worth it.

This concealed life sentence, a sentence that is one of the longest against an anarchist on an international level, evidently intends to pacify, however it is up to us that this signal does not achieve its goal.
