Statement of solidarity to the comrades struck by operation “Scripta scelera”

SOLIDARITY WITH THE COMRADES STRUCK BY OPERATION “SCRIPTA SCELERA”

On Tuesday 8th of August the umpteenth anti-anarchist operation was unleashed in a number of cities in Italy.

With the magniloquent name of “Scripta Scelera” a new attack on anarchism has materialized, on its theoretical deepening and the practices of solidarity that it knows how to implement.
This time the “crimes in writing” are those of the fortnightly “Bezmotivny”, a publication born at the end of 2020. Just as happened in operation “Sibilla” that struck the anarchist paper “Vetriolo”, anarchist propaganda as such, its ability to affect consciences, binding exploited to other exploited beyond States and borders, has been criminalised once again.

In Italy newspapers inciting war, racism, contempt are many, lavishly financed by the warmongerers, producers of weapons and death. Now more than ever they are resonators of a particular turn in the histrionics of the State and its torturers. A particular turn but not an unexpected one, historically belonging to the peculiarities of all governments which in times of great difficulty produce dynamics of self-preservation aimed at restoring or regenerating the production chain, and in support of this objective unleash repressive campaigns aimed at hitting the refractory ones ready to put a spoke in the wheel of the exploitation, those who produce it and to those who defend it.
What has been happening for years against the anarchist movement fits perfectly into the defence practices that exploiters all over the world use against the revolutionary struggle, or against that part of the exploited that has decided to not bow their heads.

It is clear that, with regard to propaganda, anarchism’s means cannot compete with those that the State and governments put in place to preserve their aura of consent. This is an incontrovertible fact that has been consolidated over the centuries or and that still affects the quality of the answers that the working classes can make emerge from their ranks, without delegating maturation to others.
The real emancipation of the exploited is not a hierarchical process, it cannot be the result of delegation. It is an integral part of many historical experiences who have tried autonomously to give themselves concrete tools, able to provide a progressive theoretical-practical development to the struggles.

The ability to self-determination as a class, as conscious proletarians who turn to other proletarians, is therefore under attack, therefore. The internationalist and revolutionary tension that every exploited can feel in their heart can feel in one’s heart as the war front gets closer and closer. The struggle of some proletarians who have chosen not to delegate the propaganda of their ideas to political reformism is under attack by part of a middle class in career that has decided to guard the current dominion of the bourgeoisie.

What historical period has ever reserved idyllic moments for anti-authoritarians? Always attacked, persecuted by the police of the regimes of capital, slandered, betrayed by authoritarian parties, belittled or isolated by journalism, only the firmness of the assumptions put in place by the theoretical enquiry, together with the consequent quality of the revolutionary response against Capital, has allowed anarchists to remain, ideally and practically, an active and conscious part of the proletariat. This is what really frightens governments: not having the last word in the minds of the exploited.

However, how can anarchist propaganda, that is that form of social agitation that is placed outside the bestowal of right as justification for one’s existence, subvert a quantitative gap so marked and consolidated by time?

In the specific democratic-liberal perspective, efficiency is a measurable element, directly proportional to political “value”: feedback of positive results, participation, increased consensus, adherence to the expectations of a large number of people. But anarchists are not a party that stands in elections, they do not propose to administer a city, restore a cottage, organize leisure time in a neighbourhood, but to destroy exploitation at its roots, eliminating all that it produces and guarantees.

It is with this same spirit of continuity and perseverance in the struggle and in the quality of anarchist propaganda that expresses solidarity with the comrades affected by this infamous operation.
