Genas (Rhône) : sabotage of a pylon in the industrial zone
Indymedia Lille, April 11, 2023
Sabotage of the high voltage line (69KV) which feeds the electric post of the industrial zone of the Mi-Plaine in the east of Lyon, near the airport of Saint-Exupéry.
The cables of an RTE pylon near Mi-Plaine, where the overhead lines go underground, were set on fire. The high voltage cables that go underground are protected by large sheaths that are easy to set on fire (bring enough fuel!!!). You can find such pylons everywhere where such cables are at the mercy of a pyromaniac gesture.

Electricity outage: sabotage claimed by mysterious “eco-radicalized Easter bunnies for generalized blackout”
France3 Auvergne-Rhône Alpes, April 14, 2023
A high-voltage line was taken out of service this Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the eastern part of the Lyon metropolitan area. This is an act of sabotage, claimed by “eco-radicalized Easter bunnies for the generalized blackout” according to a message posted on Telegram. RTE confirms and filed a complaint this Wednesday morning.
A fire was set at the foot of a high-voltage line pylon, located in the commune of Genas, shortly before 7am this Tuesday, April 11. The fire caused the pylon and in particular the cables to fail, RTE said, confirming a momentary power cut that affected about 7,000 customers, particularly in the Mi-Plaine industrial zone.
In its message of claim, the mysterious group boasts of having deprived of power a number of large companies working in advanced sectors and suppliers of the nuclear industry, armament or logistics.
Companies and individuals were affected by this power cut in the municipalities of Genas, Saint-Priest and Chassieu, which border the Mi-Plaine area, near Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport. But with the mobilization of the teams of Enedis, and thanks to the mesh of the network, the situation was able to be restored within 20 minutes, specifies RTE.
The gendarmerie investigation confirms the thesis of sabotage and deliberate vandalism.
