An act of vandalism on Friday morning, July 15, disrupted Videotron [one of Canada’s major telecommunications companies, active in cable television, Internet access and wireless telephony] services for customers in several areas of Quebec City, some of whom had already been calling Videotron about it since 8 a.m.

Shortly before noon, the company confirmed on its social media that “an interruption of [its] Internet and TV services [was] underway in some areas of Quebec City. The outage would seem to affect mainly customers in the areas of Limoilou, Charlesbourg and Beauport. In response to a user, Videotron said that a team was on site to “merge the cut optical fibers so that the service is back as soon as possible.
