On the night of Tuesday 13 to Wednesday 14 July, an electrical substation belonging to RTE (Réseau de transport d’électricité), which manages the electricity transmission network, was the target of an arson attack in Lachapelle-sous-Aubenas, in the South Ardèche. This installation is used to transport electricity.
The gendarmes of the Largentière research brigade are in charge of the investigations. The technicians of the Criminal Identification Unit (CIC) of Privas are carrying out various observations this Wednesday morning on the Ardèche site.
Contacted by Le Dauphiné Libéré, RTE confirmed: “A fire broke out in a room at 4am, during the night of 13 to 14 July. This act did not lead to a power outage”. A complaint will soon be filed by RTE.
