 LAMBROS FOUNTAS IS IMMORTAL

It has been 14 years since the death in a clash with policemen of our comrade Lambros Fountas on March 10, 2010. All these years, whether in the underground continuing the action of the Revolutionary Struggle when we dedicated to him the attack on the Central Bank-ECB-IMF in 2014, or in prison, we always had him on our minds. And of course he will be in our memory and our heart as long as we are alive.

It is known that when we assumed political responsibility for our participation in the Revolutionary Struggle, we publicly announced with the “Political Letter to the Society”, that Lambros Fountas was killed in a preparatory action of our organization, in an attempt to sabotage the country’s inclusion in the memorandum, i.e. in the program of the IMF, the ECB and the EU, something that had already been decided by the then government of G. Papandreou and we had predicted as an organization since the fall of 2009. He is the first and last dead fighter of the social resistance against the memoranda, against an era that opened with the imposition of the 1st loan agreement in the spring of 2010.

Responding to a parliamentary question, War Minister Guido Crosetto confirmed that the factory of Terrestrial Military Ammunition (SMMT) in Baiano di Spoleto could soon produce the new missiles and ammunition to be sent to Ukraine to support the ongoing war. The Defense Industries Agency (AID) indeed proposed three of its production sites –Spoleto, Capua and Fontana Liri – for the European Union’s tender, which provides a grant of 500 million euros to produce new armaments to be sent to Kiev.

Although it is still only a candidacy, the deal is given as very likely by the local newspapers, also by virtue of the fact that the Spoleto plant would be underutilized with respect to its “productive” (but perhaps we should say destructive) capacities.

On this occasion we would like to discuss, not a specific text, but rather, around the anniversary, an insurrectional moment: those spring days in 1871.

Remembered as much by comrades in the past because of the massacres with which the state and its servants punished the rebellion, as for its acts and perspectives of freedom, today we think it is important to consider the Commune as an insurgent utopia, propulsive for comrades who shared its historical epoch, but very distant from us in both qualitative and quantitive terms.

The Conflict in Abya Yala and its Proximity to “Switch Off!”: Anarchic Words Concerning the Necessary Struggle for the Earth

Faced with devastation: sabotage and war! As the comrades who have raised and formed part of the campaign have understood it, “Switch Off! The system of destruction” consists of the “attack against companies and infrastructures that feed the ecological catastrophe across the world”. Here also, in Abya Yala (ancestral name for the territory known as America), multiple struggles for the defense of the earth have been developed, from the precolonial peoples who continue fighting, to new anarchic perspectives that tip more and more into the struggle for the earth. While we haven’t been able to stop the ecological catastrophe entirely, we can find concrete examples of territorial victories that have managed to stop, expel or at least considerably push back the materialization of extractivist projects, like the resistance and armed offensive of diverse mapuche organizations in Wallmapu.

The struggles in different latitudes aren’t detached form one another and they aim at the same enemies. This is why we believe it favorable to make the “Switch Off!” campaign our own, endowing it with our own territorial circumstances to avoid overlooking our particularities.

Territorial Action by Matías Catrileo Propaganda Group

On January 6 in the Las Araucarias, Los Copihues neighborhood we, the Matías Catrileo Propaganda Group, carried out a territorial takeover, moving in the neighborhood that marked 54 years since its creation under the name Popular Unity Occupation. We gave out pamphlets, zines and information that highlight the importance of direct action and territorial self organization as valid and necessary means to retake our lives, just as Matías taught us.

There are many examples across history that show us how, from a place of autonomy and direct action, that create other ways of inhabiting this world in the here and now. Land occupations constitute one of the most effective forms to solve, in a direct way, a problem as large as access to housing, as well as empowering the revolutionary struggle, creating fertile spaces to carry out revolutionary processes.

When the proletarian youth from the neighborhoods of the city suburbs bow their heads and resign themselves to being cheap labor, they don’t call the attention of Power. They are handled with labor regulations (when the work is more or less formal), and/or are seen as the object of certain social policies that mix control with handouts.

When they dedicate themselves to petty economic delinquency to subsist, and become thiefs, shoplifters, low-level dealers or any other variant of the so-called “common criminal”, they are responded to with police, Penal Code and prison. When young people come from these same sectors, structurally marginalized by the capitalism of our time, they obtain certain class consciousness; when they rebel against exploitation with weapons in hand, they are always candidates for being labeled “terrorists”. Them! When they’ve done nothing but react with the most human dignity possible faced with systematic and historically accumulated conditions of class violence dolled out from above by the true terrorists.

La compañera Pola Roupa y el compañero Nikos Maziotis fueron condenados a varios años de prisión por su participación y acción en la organización guerrillera Lucha Revolucionaria.
Fueron encarcelados y cumplieron la pena combinada de 20 años de prisión a la que finalmente fueron condenados (tras el «quebrantamiento» de su cadena perpetua tras el atentado con bomba contra el Banco de Grecia -sucursal del Banco Central Europeo- oficina del Fondo Monetario Internacional en Grecia, por Lucha Revolucionaria Comando Lambros Fountas).
La compañera Pola Roupa cumplió 8,5 años de prisión real (13,5 años mixtos), mientras que el compañero Nikos Maziotis ya ha cumplido 11 años de prisión «cerrada» y un total de 14 años mixtos. Es decir, 3/5 de su condena como dictan las leyes estatales.

Greece: SOLIDARITY DAY on February 9, 2024, FOR THE FINAL RELEASE OF COMRADE POLA ROUPA & THE IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF COMRADE NIKOS MAZIOTIS EN/ FR / GR / DE / IT / ES

We call comrades in Greece and around the world to be vigilant and act in solidarity:

9/2| SOLIDARITY DAY FOR THE FINAL RELEASE OF
COMRADE POLA ROUPA & THE
IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF COMRADE NIKOS MAZIOTIS

Comrade Pola Roupa and Comrade Nikos Maziotis were sentenced to several years in prison for their participation and action in the guerilla organization Revolutionary Struggle.

They were imprisoned and served the combined 20-year prison sentence to which they were finally sentenced (after the “breaking” of their life sentence for the bombing attack on the Bank of Greece-branch of the European Central Bank-office of the International Monetary Fund in Greece, by Revolutionary Struggle Commando Lambros Fountas).

Comrade Pola Roupa served 8.5 years of real prison (13.5 years mixed), while her partner Nikos Maziotis has already served 11 years of “closed” prison and a total of 14 years mixed. That is, 3/5 of their sentence as state laws dictate.

Comrade Pola Roupa was released from prison with restrictive conditions on November 17, 2023, and a few days later, on November 28, 2023, the deputy prosecutor of Evia filed an appeal against her release, requesting that she be taken back to prison. This unprecedented event led comrade Pola Roupa before a new judicial council at the court of Chalkida on January 10, 2024, in order to judge from scratch whether she will remain free or continue to be a prisoner in the cells of the republic.

The trial of Ilarla,Tobias and a third comrade,arrested in Budapest on Feb. 11,2023 and accused of attacking Nazis,will begin on January 29. Ilarla and Tobias have been In jail in Budapest for 11months and face heavy sentences.

On Feb. 13,a hearing will be held to decide on the extradition of Gabriele, who was arrested because of an European Arrest Warrant in November 2023 In Milan, and charged with the same attacks on Nazis.
