By: Mapuche Political Prisoners of Angol

The mapuche political prisoners of the Angol Prison call on their mapuche traditional authorities who have backed them in this long and painful hunger strike to come to Angol Prison, now that we have seen that there is no political will to resolve our demands on the part of the government and the prison.

Those who, entrenched in biased racism, have delayed a solution, leading us to the extreme of our conditions of bodily health. For this reason, faced with this humiliating attitude of those who aim to push us, seeking to bully our families, submit our children to degrading treatment, all with the ultimate intention of making us abandon our political and human rights.

We the Mapuche political prisoners, owe ourselves to the joint and collective ways that indicate our traditional Mapuche ordering. This is why we make this call, to our Mapuche authorities, to anounce before our communities and relatives, the difficult decision to carry out a THIRST STRIKE in the coming hours, to push the government to resolve our demands.

Athens: Arson Attack in Solidarity with the Prison Struggle in Greece

Claim of Responsibility (Athens)

We claim responsibility for the arson of a vehicle belonging to the municipality of Kaisariani (a town in eastern Athens) at midnight on September 26th in an aggressive display of solidarity with the struggle that prisoners all over Greece have been fighting for the last month against the new law announced by the Minister of Justice Florides and the arbitrary actions of the prosecutor’s office of Lamia.

The government being in a panic, unable to manage the crises that have arisen immediately after its re-election, tries to satisfy its conservative audience by attacking the prisoners once again, knowing that the wider society is permanently apathetic towards them.

WE CALL FOR SOLIDARITY AND DISSEMINATION!

On 24th July 2020 the anarchist comrades Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar were arrested, accused of the explosive attack by parcel bomb against the 54th police station of Huechuraba, at the ex-minister of the interior Rodrigo Hinzpeter and the bomb attack on the Tánica building, symbol of entrepreneurial power located in the neighbourhood of the rich.

After three years in custody, the trial began on 18th of July 2023 with which they intend to sentence them to decades of prison for having faced the powerful with anarchist action, and tried to destroy the monopoly of State violence.

TINIA NEGRA ANTI PRISON TATTOO CONVENTION OCT. 13-15 2023 (GERMANY)

We are very happy to invite you to participate in the Anti-Prison Tattoo and Body Modification Convention “Tinta Negra”. We are organising the event to support anarchist, subversive and revolutionary prisoners. The idea is that all the funds raised will go to the prisoners and their solidarity structures.

As a group of different individuals against prison society, we have decided to organise “Tinta Negra”, an anti-prison tattoo and body modification convention in solidarity with anarchist, subversive and revolutionary prisoners, which will take place in October. Tinta negra was born out of the need to financially support comrades in prison. Preventive arrests and their investigation periods are often long and expensive, and long exemplary sentences are part of the hard repressive strategy of inter-states collaboration. The costs are extremely high and difficult to afford, especially for the solidarity circles around the prisoners who are also hit by the repression.

Noise Demo for Anarchist Toby Shone ( Bristol,UK )

Fireworks at HMP Bristol for Imprisoned Anarchist Toby Shone

Anarchists gathered at HMP Bristol on Friday 21 September at 8pm. As darkness fell, fireworks were launched over the prison to protest the rearrest of anarchist Toby Shone and to let him know he is never alone.

Toby was arrested by an armed police unit while he was driving to
Gloucester at 9am on Tuesday 19 September. The arrest was apparently ordered by Ashley Fussell from the National Security Division Wales and South West. The armed police unit is based at Bamfurlong, Gloucestershire, and was involved in Toby’s original arrest in November 2020.

South London , UK : We are presenting a two-part event, The Social War in the Territory Dominated by the Chilean State – And International Solidarity with anarchist and subversive prisoners, at the Touchpaper Anarchist Library.

POSTER ON PDF:
TEXT FROM THE POSTER:

an unrelenting struggle, an insurrectional dream.
Social war and repression of anarchists and subversives in the territory dominated by the Chilean state

“Continuing to take paths of rupture is therefore a small victory, showing that, even if the State shows us its worst face, it cannot bend us. We think that solidarity with those affected by repression must necessarily be transgressive and offensive, free from any pessimistic and victimist discourse. The use of all our creativity, limited only by our anarchist principles, is fundamental…”

Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar, 2017.

Chilean society is a modern democratic one. The industrial ravaging of indigenous land is conducted for the benefit of American, British and European corporations and is managed by endless ‘anti-terrorist’ operations. The administrators of society, from the bosses of production and mass-media to the scientists and the military; from the priests and politicians to the judges and police, have all undergone a costume-change since the years of fascist dictatorship.

Over this time the territory has been the subject of economic booms and collapses, times of social peace and democratic recuperation as well as some of the most intense social rebellions in recent times that have not been short of explosive examples throughout the world.

(Wallmapu) Mapuche political prisoners from Temuco show solidarity with anarchist and subversive prisoners August 22nd, 2023

(Excerpted from La Zarzamora)

Letter of solidarity from Wallmapu

To all those who struggle and to public opinion in general.
Throughout the history of humanity, the pueblos have risen up, fought, resisted against tyranny and oppression imposed in different ways and different contexts. This is how the capitalist system through the state and government as its faithful dogs do the impossible of stopping anyone who fights for their pueblo, increasing sentences, creating new laws to segregate and dismantle every bastion of struggle and resistance.

It should be noted that for all those committed to the struggle against the capitalist system, this only increases our ties of solidarity and support.

Anarchist comrade Toby Shone abducted by armed cops and sent back to prison (UK)!

Toby Shone is an anarchist who was imprisoned in Wandsworth, Bristol and G4S Prison Parc for nearly two years accused of being the administrator of counter-information project 325.nostate.net. After the political prosecution failed and the cops had to drop the case 5 days before trial in October 2021, Toby received a sentence of 3 years 9 months for possession of psychedelic medicines. He was released on 28 December 2022 under heavy restrictions (license conditions), oversight by a multi-agency team (MAPPA) including the National Security Division (counter-terror) and forced to live in a filthy bail hostel in Gloucester for 9 months. He had just moved back into a flat in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire 9 days ago.

On the morning of 19 September 2023, he was driving to an appointment with his probation officer when he was pulled over and arrested by an armed police unit in-between the Forest of Dean and Gloucester. He was taken to HMP Bristol. He is awaiting more detailed information, but his legal team say that the allegations are that he breached two of his license conditions: being in possession of an [unauthorised] phone and attending a meeting in Bristol in August.

Toby is in great spirits as ever and requests letters and books.

Solidarity greetings for the Soli Week for Anarchist Prisoners 2023

Also here from Freiburg in southern Germany, solidarity and warm greetings for the Soli Week. For almost 27 years I have been observing the world behind bars from the perspective of a prisoner. First in pre-trial detention, later in criminal detention and finally since 2013 in preventive detention. Preventive detention was introduced in Germany in 1933, yes, it was the Nazis who amended the criminal law accordingly on 24.11.1933 – since then, people can be held in prison in Germany for an unforeseeable period of time even after serving their prison sentence. In the 1990s and 2000s, other European countries followed suit, always in the name of “public security”: Belgium, France, Sweden, Great Britain, Switzerland and many more.

In many cases, normal imprisonment is already a death sentence in instalments, first the soul dies, and often in the end the body dies as well. Just a few weeks ago, a man in his early 40s took his own life in the Freiburg preventive detention, apparently seeing no realistic prospect of regaining his freedom. His wife, children, adoptive mother and siblings mourn him – but so do some of the other inmates. However, it must be clear that prisoners also have the right to take their own lives. No one should be allowed to forbid them to do so. But it must also be asked what responsibility the state institutions bear for such a decision? It would be too easy to release them from their responsibility by referring to the autonomous decision of the respective inmates.

Letter from Ambro – anarchist prisoner in Chile for the Week of Solidarity

“I wish I could transform myself into a wolf, so I could sink my teeth into the womb of society in an orgy of destruction.” Bruno Filippi

From some corner of the Chilean prisons

Having finished my daily hours in the courtyard, from my cell I throw myself into writing a few lines in order to find a brief moment of freedom that will interrupt my prison reality.

If I think of anarchist solidarity, the first thing that comes to my mind is my arrival in prison, when my comrades who had already been held hostage for various political reasons took charge of orienting me and gave me the tools to survive in this hostile and indifferent world.

Prison and resistance. Talk with Gabriel Pombo da Silva 28 August in Leipzig (Germany)

Prison and resistance. Talk with Gabriel Pombo da Silva 28 August in Leipzig.

In the framework of the international week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners, this Monday, the 28th of August, there will be a talk with Gabriel Pombo da Silva at the Karl-Helga.

Gabriel is a well-known anarchist militant with a long history, who has spent more than 30 years in different prisons for his activities. On this occasion, we will talk about what this week of solidarity means and how important it is; at the same time, we will remember our comrades who are still behind bars or who have left us. For his part, Gabriel will tell us about his current situation (recently released), the repression of the anarchist movement and the meaning of prison within the system of domination and why we anarchists oppose it.

The talk will be streamed and will start at 6pm.
We invite you to bring something to eat to share with other participants.
Drinks will be available on site.

Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners: A Message From Occupied Ohlone/Miwok Territory (San Francisco, USA)

Actforfree notes: Anarchist comrade Giannis Michailidis his temporary release on parole on 14/6/2023 , and the anarchist Georgia Voulgaris  they free back to the streets!

Solidarity With Anarchist Prisoners: A Message From Occupied Ohlone/Miwok Territory

On August 21 2023, approximately 20 people gathered in San Francisco to write letters in solidarity with imprisoned revolutionaries, liberationists, insurrectionists, and anti-colonial warriors facing state repression around the globe. In commemoration of both BLACK AUGUST and INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF SOLIDARITY WITH ANARCHIST PRISONERS, people came together to read zines, share food, stories, and discuss the cases of numerous anarchist prisoners.

At the end of the night, a small group of comrades dropped a banner over the 101 freeway in San Francisco, declaring solidarity from the Bay Area with anarchist prisoners everywhere. We encourage others to please take action this week; whether in the form of writing a letter or dropping a banner – “Every sincere effort is as special as every human life.”
