In Tension is a journal acting as a place for anarchist analysis, dialogue, and reflection on activity that extends beyond single subcultures, issues, and social groups. Intended for people beginning to learn what anarchists are fighting and creating as well as people who have identified with anarchism for decades, In Tension is a way for us to talk to each other and report actions, issues, and intiatives that are otherwise under- or un-reported. We are interested in promoting the practice of doing things for ourselves and connecting our struggles locally, regionally, and internationally. In Tension also functions as an archive of sorts, a way to foster collective remembering.

Once again yellow envelopes fly into the mailboxes of anarchists in Munich. This time without the spirited ramblings of our favorite General SA employee Firoozi (or rather we seem to be her favorites). Instead this time it is the association “VRIOLG Dr. Stoll” & Co., from the higher court of Munich, that has honored some anarchists with their text. More than three months after the judicial association Himmelstoß & Co. declined to reopen the “Zündlumpen” case in the Staatsschutz (SS) chamber, due to a lack of evidence connecting one of the accused to the publishing of “Zündlumpen,” and after General SA Firoozi appealed the decision, the higher court of Munich has finally graced us with their decision. Lukáš Borl – March 2026 (Czech Republic)

I have finally been acquitted of several criminal charges brought against me by the police on the basis of dubious speculation. The acquittal ruling states:

“(…) the court finds that no evidence was presented that would lead to the identification of the perpetrator, and thus to the proof of the defendant’s guilt. The defendant’s guilt has not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, as required by Section 2(5) of the Criminal Procedure Code. These doubts are fundamental, logical, and insurmountable, as the expert opinions confirmed that the perpetrator cannot be identified by any scientific method.”

What made this court case unusual was that the prosecutor tried to use my book “Tato kniha není (z)boží” (This Book Is Not a Commodity) against me However, the court ultimately ruled that this book does not constitute evidence.

Against the new war in Iran, against peace that sets the ground for war.

The joint attack of Israel and the USA against Iran on the 28th of February 2026 is what comes next after the so-called “12-day war” of June 2025, when Israel attacked Iran with the help of the USA. In that phase of the war, the Zionist regime attacked, thus escalating the situation and limiting whatever scenario of “mild” resolution to the open issues concerning the Iranian state such as its nuclear program. The June war actually formed the terms and the political context to prepare and set off the current “episode”, which includes the greatest part of the ambitions of the American-Israeli coalition. Under the doctrine of “precautionary war”, which has been announced since the beginning of 2025 by the Israeli state claiming a sort of justification for its military operations in the name of calculated (and not manifested) dangers and threats.

The war that sparked on 28/2, attempts to form a new geopolitical geography in the broader area of the Middle East. At the top of their priorities lies to overthrow the Iranian regime, so that the danger for Israel coming from its neighboring states can be completely eliminated. Not long ago Iran was the pillar of the so-called “axis of resistance” against the aims of Israel and the USA. Apart from that common goal, the two ally states could establish their interests in the broader area since the Arab states (on various levels) have made agreements with Israel (bearing at the same time a close cooperation with the USA) and practically submit to its pursuits. Who let the dogs out… update on repression against anarchists in Munich

Perhaps the prosecutor, Eva Firoozi, should have been a novelist. Maybe she would have been one of those best selling authors who, due to their political correctness and lack of humor, spoil the pleasure of reading, but at least she would have done less damage. It must have been more or less intentional that the dream team from the Munich attorney generals office (General-SA) Reinhard Röttle and the leader and founder of the ZET, Georg Freutsmiedl, hired such an employee.

The new boss of the ZET, Gabriele Tilmann, also didn’t just hire this social justice warrior just to fill the quota for women in office. No, in Munich, in all of Bavaria actually, there “is no room for anarchists, squatters, etc” according to the ever humorous Franz Joseph Strauß. And if these anarchists don’t leave the city of their own accord, then we need creative employees like Eva Firoozi. Much to the regret of the anarchists of course. Not because we take Eva Firoozi particularly seriously, or are even scared of her. No, we’re just sick of reading her absurdly poorly written indictments. They are filled with plot holes; the logic of the story doesn’t add up, and the characters are two-dimensional. You don’t have to be a student of literature to see that.

Anti-speciesists should take the slogan“until every cage is empty”more seriously. I mean that every cage with an animal inside should be opened–farms,fields, zoos, pets hops, labs,whatever. Not only if we have the means to put the captives in a sanctuary.

Nor if, having  done our homework, deem them to fit in surrounding ecosystem and are therefore willing to release them into the wild.

It’s time to abandon the model of animal liberation activism as we currently know it. A model which only deems animals appropriate for liberation if they fit into some kind of human-defined
plan.  This approach reproduces a commitment to human
control among anti-speciesists, cripples our ambition as
a movement and prevents our nonhuman comrades from
joining the clash against civilisation.

On February 7, about 150 people took to the streets in Viterbo for a radical demonstration that showed how it is possible and necessary to link the issues of war and repression: with the resistance of the Palestinian people, against defeatism in Ukraine, against repression as an expression of war policies on the home front, against 41 bis as a war prison, and in solidarity with Alfredo Cospito. New project: “Solidarity is the Way” in support of deserters and those fleeing war

People move. This is a reality, plain and simple. It is criminalized and made painful, and even lethal, by the borders created by states, capitalism, xenophobes and wars.

We do not want to stand idly by. We strive to show practical solidarity with people who have decided to leave Ukraine because they have deserted or simply because they want to hide from the war, avoid mobilization, repression, or the cult of militarism and nationalism.

We are unable to assist people in crossing the state border. However, if they manage to move to Romania, we can share our resources and infrastructure with them.

Hi, my name is Joe Hill and I’m raising money to help my good friends and comrades in Java, who have been forced from their homes due to their decolonial political and community work – publishing anarchist literature, running anti domestic violence workshops and supporting farmers in land rights struggles.</

In December 2025, an anarchist organizer and publisher based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, was subjected to intimidation, surveillance, and forced displacement following a series of false accusations spread by involving Indonesian police and immigrationnt authorities. The publisher, PATM (Page Against the Machine), is an independent publisher dedicated to translating Indonesian anarchist and decolonial texts into English for a wider global audience.
