Arson Attack Against a Vehicle Owned by Environment-Destroyer Züblin in Berlin

(B) Switch Off! Neighborhood and environment destroyer Züblin

Somebody has to build all this shit, the highways through forests, the jails, the palaces of the rich in the formerly green backyards of Berlin’s old buildings, the concrete aisles along the banks of the Spree River.

As we walk through the city, we repeatedly encounter the signs of a handful of companies that want to use them to mark who owns the city. Among them is Züblin, a construction corporation that pours cement on the explosive increase in rents. Züblin has long been active in the business of the capitalist attack on our living spaces, and was already targeted forty years ago for this reason, when construction machinery burned because of its involvement in the construction of Runway West in Frankfurt. During the Nazi regime, Züblin used forced laborers at Frankfurt Airport. Through its connection with Strabag, Züblin has become one of the leading tree killers, see the expansion of the A49 through the Danni or A66 through the Fechenheimer forest.

Vert-le-Petit (Essonne): sabotage of the electrical network at a nuclear and weapons hot spot (Northern France)

“The cables are under the pylons”.

Indymedia Lille, July 25, 2023

Some thirty kilometers south of Paris, in the Essonne region of France, in the commune of Vert-le Petit, lies the Centre d’étude du Bouchet, one of the world’s leading nuclear and armaments sites.

It was here in 1820 that the Poudrerie Nationale du Bouchet was created, and during the First World slaughter, 5,000 workers produced huge quantities of gunpowder and ammunition for the front line.

From 1920 to 1940, although it did not stop manufacturing conventional munitions altogether, the plant focused much of its activity on new technologies linked to the possibility of a conflict involving chemical, biological and bacteriological processes.

Between Oceans, Forests and Volcanoes: collection gathers texts from the Mapuche resistance in the territories under the domination of the Chilean state.

Between Oceans, Forests and Volcanoes

Amulepe taiñ weichan / The struggle continues

In the territories home to the Mapuche communities — whose lands have been seized by capitalist investors, disfigured by loggers, ravaged by energy companies, polluted by industrialists and colonized by accomplices of the Chilean state — the last few decades have been marked by unrelenting struggle.

The radical Mapuche struggle inspires us for its continuity, for its categorical rejection of all state interference, for its relentless fight against exploitation and capitalist plundering, and for its choice of direct action against extractivism and the devastation of the land and the living.

Switch off – Call for revolt

The certainty that the current system will result in the collapse of the massively damaged ecosystem has already inspired countless people to resist. Tens of thousands are taking to the streets against the “business as usual” of the capitalist machinery, people are resisting the destructive large-scale projects en masse, the infrastructure of the system is being blocked and courageous fighters are setting fire to the machines that are being used to rob them of the very basis of life. What we need in the struggle against the destruction of nature and the resulting social misery is the shared pursuit of real revolutionary rupture and freedom of all. Pursuing an initiative that rejects all compromises and cosmetic corrections of the state and brings about a transformation of our social relations. Because the destruction of the planet by the neoliberal economic system is inextricably linked to patriarchal patterns of thought, racism and colonialism. The initiative for this must necessarily come from below. From the struggles of the excluded. From the struggles of those who enact a self-organized solidarity against the state’s promises of salvation. From the struggles of those who see that there can be no compromises in the fight against the systemic destruction of the biosphere.

We should also be aware that we cannot completely prevent the gradual collapse of a massively damaged ecosystem. Nor the loss of biodiversity. Nor the depletion of resources. We will not be able to prevent the climate catastrophe, because we are already in the middle of it. Admitting this – without any doomsday pathos – does not paralyze us. On the contrary, it should open up, for us and our contexts, the question of what our lives and our revolutionary struggles might look like in the future.

Two Valves Turned Closed on Enbridge’s Line 5 (United States)

Two Valves Turned Closed on Enbridge’s Line 5

Reportback from some valve turners:

It is with a heavy heart and hazy skies we announce that 2 different pipeline valves were turned off along the Line 5 route on Anishinaabae land in the great lakes region. This was done on the 13th anniversary of the Kalamazoo River oil spill. This was the 2nd largest inland oil spill in amerikkkan history, dumping 1,000,000 gallons of tar sands crude oil into the river and causing untold damage to the water, land and those who live on it.

Currently, Enbridge is preparing to construct a concrete tunnel beneath the waters of the so-called Great Lakes to house a dual pipeline system in order to increase flow rates and carry even more tar sands from the lands of the north to refineries in the south. The Straits tunnel project is meant to replace a 70 year old pipe that is hastily secured to the bottom of the lake bed, even free floating in some areas.

Bremen (Germany): burning electric charging stations

Bremen: burning electric charging stations

The costs of the energy transition … and electric charging stations on fire

The exploitation of new sources of raw materials, mines and factories to implement the so-called energy transition and the shift to electrified individual transport is in full swing: megafactories exploiting groundwater; new lithium mines in Portugal; nickel and gold from stolen indigenous land in Indonesia; exploitation of vanadium deposits in Norway and rare earths on Samí territory in Sweden; cobalt from the Congo… the industrial exploitation of copper, cobalt and nickel on the seabed; the supply of hydrogen from artificial islands in the North Sea or via neo-colonial import strategies from Namibia and Chile … the costs of this energy transition and of continued exploitation are now common knowledge. The shift towards green capitalism is inevitably accompanied by a intensification of the exploitation of people and nature!

There are an infinite number of targets, means and methods for attacking, delaying and sabotaging this process.

We have chosen to focus on an infrastructure that is currently developing rapidly and is present almost everywhere: electric charging stations. They are a necessary component of the Green New Deal’s transportation shift and therefore make an ideal, low-threshold target.

Switch off! – the system of destruction

Switch off!  – the system of destruction

About 20 people storm a construction site of the Coastal Gas Link pipeline in western Canada. They are armed with axes and flares, threaten employees, hijack heavy construction vehicles, destroy the site’s building and ultimately the vehicles themselves. The damage amounted to millions. That was almost a year ago. It is still unclear who sabotaged the construction of the pipeline in the province of British Columbia. Fracked gas was soon to flow through the pipeline, which runs right through indigenous land, to the West Coast, from where it would be shipped on to Asia.

A call…

Whether you occupy universities, schools, trees or streets. Whether you spend your nights worrying or sabotaging. Whether you strike or write about it.

Ireland: Over several nights many advertising signs were vandalised in Dublin by Animal Liberation Front Cell of Vandals

Over several nights many advertising signs were vandalised in Dublin. Advertisement plays a key role in animal exploitation so these signs were turned into anti-speciesist advertisement.

Not only does fast play one of the biggest parts in animal genocide it contributes massively to climate change and deforestation of rainforests which is home for many plant and animal species including human. Massive amounts of land turned into pasture for cow farming and growing soya, the fuel that runs the animal agriculture industry globally.

USA: 20 machines across 6 sites of the construction of the mountain valley pipeline were sabotaged – Appalachia

20 machines across 6 sites of the construction of the mountain valley pipeline were sabotaged – Appalachia

An invitation and reportback from a productive fourth of july party

On the fourth of july, 20 machines across 6 sites of the construction of the mountain valley pipeline were sabotaged, using a variety of means to render them inoperable. Machines are often left unguarded, and when they’re not, the security are just prats. It was easy and fun. We gave a big cheer when these machines were seen being hauled off the mountains back to the industrial hellscapes they come from.
