Munich (Germany): two more forestry machines go up in smoke

Munich, two more forestry machines go up in smoke

Once again, forestry machines go up in flames: on Monday morning December 18, the Munich police were once again informed of a forestry machine fire in their area of responsibility, this time in the Hofoldinger forest, south of Brunnthal . The fire involved a tree feller and a forklift. Initial estimates put the damage at several hundred thousand euros.

Police station no. 43, responsible for “politically motivated left-wing crime”, is investigating possible links with previous arsons. Just a week ago, on Monday December 12, similar forestry equipment was on fire in Perlach Forest and Forstenrieder Park, also early in the morning, and a fire also broke out overnight in a cable shaft on the Ludwigsbrücke bridge. By Friday morning, December 15, police had again recorded two forestry machines ablaze, this time in the Pullach area of Forstenrieder Park.

These events are part of a series of around 20 arson attacks against infrastructure since May. There is currently no communique or information on the suspects.
