Bologna, Italy – 2nd August and State massacres

Banners and leaflets at the August 2 demo in remembrance of the massacres at the station of Bologna
If our solidarity with and closeness to the families and friends of the victims of State massacres is absolute and reconfirmed, precisely on a day like today, it is impossible to remain silent about the presence of characters who embody the State’s brutality rather than justice. The State massacre in the jails in March 2020 was filed away as an episode of mass overdose. This demonstrates both that the lives of those who are inside are really worth nothing for the institutions and that massacres are still a habitual practice for states in order to frighten those who rebel.
The presence of minister Cartabia, who hypocritically wants to clean up the face of a ministry responsible for the above, is something we could not keep quiet about. What is the representative of a massacre-perpetrating ministry going to tell us on a day like this, just a year and a half after the massacre of 14 prisoners and the slaughter in jails (as emerged in Santa Maria Capua a Vetere)? That everything will change after the umpteenth inspection and proceedings? The usual person of the State telling lies and talking about reforms.  The reforms of the past thirty years have led to the point we are at now, who knows what a fine job the minister is about to undertake!
And if those who struggle against massacres, as various anarchist comrades do, find themselves on trial for the vile crime of massacre, as anarchists we make it a personal matter. They accuse us of indiscriminately endangering innocent lives with attacks and actions against sites of the League and the police, disgusting people who legitimize massacres and actually carry them out. Let the minister and her magistrates see themselves in the mirror!
