With Sara and Sandrone, with heads held high. About the initiative in Rome on March 29th 2026 (Italy)

We are putting together and publishing some short texts and images from the initiative of domenica 29 marzo a Roma [Sunday March 29 in Rome] in memory of the anarchist comrades Sara Ardizzone e Alessandro Mercogliano. In spite of the attempt to block the morning’s appointment, a demonstration was held in the early afternoon leaving from the Quarticciolo. All those arrested in the morning (at least 91) were taken to the immigration office of Rome police station and released in the evening. Yet again, the day of Sunday showed the attempts of the repressive forces to isolate Sara and Sandro – first by unleashing a mass-media campaign aimed (in vain) at undermining their integrity, then systematically trying to block the moments and initiatives in their memory – but did not obtain the desired effect. Soon we will also be publishing other texts and images of 29 March in Rome.

Some comrades holding flowers today in memory of Sara and Sandro were stopped, held and taken to the police station. They are about fifty people. Sara and Sandro, comrades killed in action, are in our hearts and always will be.

Sara’s family expressed their solidarity with those being held this morning for leaving flowers near the farmhouse where the explosion took place, as well as their thanks for the demonstration that followed.

The State and all the institutions are determined to isolate Sara and Sandro, to erase and obstruct their memory. Quite impossible, because Sara and Sandro were courageous comrades, fraternal friends and persons too beautiful to ever be forgotten. Certain signori are convinced that locking up 90 people for hours in the immigration office in via Patini was a good idea. The truth is that in these almost 11 hours of preventive imprisonment, it was possible to talk to the younger comrades of the value of these fallen comrades of ours, from their courage to their tenderness.

Only ignorant fools and jackals who delegate their opinions to newspapers useful only for wiping one’s arse, think that the vain attempts to repress the solidarity towards towards our comrades was effective.

May Sara and Sandrone always light up our path towards freedom.
