In Leipzig over the past few years a number of vehicles belonging to the municipal service in charge of respect for law and order, known as « municipal police » [Polizeibehörde], have caught fire spontaneously on various occasions.

In 2020, they lost so many cars that they could no longer turn up to their places of intervention. Interventions during which they harassed people in parks because they didn’t want to lock down during the state of emergency linked to the coronavirus, 2G controls [controls linked to the obligatory health pass], etc.

In order to regain operational capacity, they used vehicles belonging to Teilauto [a regional car-sharing company]. We consider that to be supporting an increasingly authoritarian State, so we set fire to 4 Teilauto cars during the night of 4th to 5th August, in Karl-Heine-Strasse [Plagwitz area].
