Banner hanging in Thessaloniki for the 16th anniversary of the death of Comrade Mauricio Morales in Chile

No one will save us from the desert.
Only this promise to ourselves
how we will die enemies
an oath to life.
As long as there are those who are lost
for the purposes of that
which others said was a cause
we too have ignition.
For the conspiracies that died at birth
to those who are missing
to those who were captured
to those who have not forgotten the colour of fire.
In the early hours of May 22, 2009, in Chile, anarchist comrade Mauricio Morales died when a device that he intended to place in the Police Guard School exploded in the bag in which he was carrying it. He was a comrade who gave his life to the anarchist Cause, spreading propaganda, supporting imprisoned activists, and participating in every aspect of the struggle.
At noon on October 31, the anarchist armed fighter Kyriakos Xymitiris lost his life in the battle for social and class liberation when an explosive device detonated inside an apartment on Arkadias Street in the Ampelokipi area of Athens.
A blast breaks the silence once and for all nothing is ever the same again. Our comrade is gone and now an unspeakable burden falls on those left behind. The burden of responsibility to preserve their memory, the burden of absolute commitment to them, which we will carry everywhere and forever.
The practical similarities of the deaths of our comrades are many, but also rather different. The reason they lost their lives is because they took a position in the social war and that is what is worth holding on to. A militant position on the front lines of resistance, a position of dignity and attack, a position of absolute convergence of word and action to the end. Their very actions, their moral essence, their passage through the battlefields and the political legacy they leave, which speak for themselves and from our own mouths, are the way they travel through history. Now it is our turn to lift from the ground the black seed that our dead comrades left behind and plant it deep within our hearts without a second thought.
All the same, the flame in the eyes of our comrades has never extinguished, it keeps us warm every step of our action, it lights the path towards Rebellion, Revolution, Anarchy. It is our historical duty to become the fuel that will nourish this flame so that it never goes out.
Comrades, for your revolutionary memory, for the struggles you have fought, for your open scores with the cannibals of power, for every unfulfilled dream, we are here to pick up the thread of resistance.
For a life given over to a storm of visions…
Mauricio Morales
Kyriakos Ximitiris
And all those who fell fighting the rotten world of power
ALWAYS PRESENT
Co-operative for revolutionary solidarity
