Trento: Updates about Nasci, comrade prisoner in the prison of Trento

Some more news about our friend Nasci and what happened to him, leading to his imprisonment in Spini di Gardolo.

Nasci was arrested by the DIGOS on the morning of October 10th for a sentence of one year and two months for three different episodes: the occupation in February 2017 of the town hall of Municipio di Mori (a village of about 10.000 inhabitents near Rovereto), during a well-attended lively mobilization against a project of environmental devastation – since realized unfortunately – ; a writing on a wall in Florence in August of the same year, during an initiative in solidarity with those arrested in Operation Panico; the events of February 9th 2018 in Trento, when comrades contested creatively (among which serious damage to the clothing shop of a fascist stabber) the usual Casapound event on the occasion of the “Foibe Day”.*

Decisive in sending our comrade to jail has been the rejection of any alternative measure to prison (that he should normally have obtained, given that the cumulation of convictions fell within the terms of the law) by the Surveillance Court of Trento, opportunely instructed by the ESA (External Criminal Enforcement Office) which has demanded and not obtained from Nasci the so-called “revision” of his ideas and life choices. Once again, following Operation Renata and the cases of Poza and Rupert (and that of Sasha, still under house arrest only because she is the mother of a little girl): either abjuration, or imprisonment.

We know from his lawyer’s visit that Nasci is fine. He has been moved from “new arrivals” to a section where he is in a cell with a young quiet guy.

He heard the participation and noisy gathering held outside the prison on the evening of Tuesday, October 10. He knows of the broad solidarity he is receiving (not only from comrades in the strict sense) and is very happy about it. He has received all the telegrams sent to him.

Solidarity, complicity and affection to Nasci!
Freedom for everyone!

Actforfree notes : * Foibe: two main waves of massacres, the first in the weeks following Italy’s armistice on September 8, 1943, as Tito’s Partisans occupied the region they carried out mass executions against Italian fascists with reportedly almost 700 dead, some thrown into sinkholes known as foibe. The second, with 2,000 to 4,000 people killed, occurred after the ‘liberation of Italy’. – Italians, as former fascists, were usually seen as enemies of the people but also of Tito’s Communist regime. The foibe massacres, with between 3,000 and 5,000 Italian victims, were part of a larger wave of killings in the same territories that left between 60,000 and 100,000 dead. At the end of the 1980s, the foibe started to become a national issue with the Italian fascists comparing the foibe killings with Nazi genocide and organising huge remembrance celebrations.
