Athens : Attack on Ε.Μ.Π rector’s building ( The administration of ΕΜΠ offices of polytechnic university) as a minimal sign of solidarity with the squatters

On Thursday 12/10/2023 we carried out an attack on the Ε.Μ.Π. rector’s building, breaking the facade and a large part of the interior, as a minimal sign of solidarity with the squatters.

The State, unable as ever to manage the successive crises it faces, is intensifying its repressive moves, targeting self-managed spaces and the world struggling both inside and outside them.

In the midst of a generalized wave of evictions of squatters throughout the country (Ano-Kato squat in Patisia, Zizania in Victoria, Evangelismos occupation in Heraklion, Crete, Self-managed polytechnic squat) we cannot remain idle and watch the State’s attempt to eliminate the  centres of the struggle in apathy.

The rectorship of the Ε.Μ.Π .was chosen because it is responsible for the invasion of the police into the Zografou polytechnic campus and the 3 evictions of the self-managed polytechnic site, as well as the intimidation and arrest of students and supporters.

We know that Ε.Μ.Π. is not an exception, as the direct cooperation of the rector’s authorities and ELAS (Cops) is not something new, as was also seen in Heraklion, where the University of Crete gave the green light for the eviction and sealing of the Evangelismos occupation, but also in many other cases in the past (eviction of a squat at the Biological, Vancouver Apartments,…).

Cops and rectory authorities, bear in mind that squats are hotbeds of resistance that we will not leave undefended and you will find us constantly facing you.

PS: This action can be taken by the new rector, who has taken over from Budouvis, as a welcome and an assurance that we will be vigilant.
