The media, the schools, the judges, the cops, politicians, surveillance, technology, work. All have their role to play in repression.

Repression is nothing but the interwoven attempts of all authorities to stupify thought, silence ideas, to freeze action, to weaken courage and to justify obedience. These efforts are always necessary to hold together the ranks.

Olympia,USA : Alfredo Bonanno Memorial

On the morning of December 6th, 2023 Alfredo M. Bonanno passed away at the age of 86 in Trieste, Italy.

A long-time anarchist, Bonanno was an influential figure on insurrectionary anarchism both theoretically and in practice. With writings like “Armed Joy” and “The Anarchist Tension”, Bonanno’s writings continue to influence anarchist praxis worldwide. But he was more than just a theorist, Bonanno put his words into actions on numerous occasions and was subsequently imprisoned for bank robbery 2 different time and was also imprisoned for the writing of “Armed Joy”.

Upon learning of his passing a group of friends gathered on the evening of December 12th, 2023 in St̕č̓as (so called olympia, wa) to mourn, honor, and celebrate the life of Alfredo M. Bonanno.
At the historical site of the Olympia Stand Blockades (2016 and 2017) we stood in a circle and talked about the impact him and his writings had on our lives while we passed around bottles of expropriated Italian fancy wine and root beer. When we had all shared our stories we poured out the remainder of our drinks in Bonanno’s honor and proceeded to light up road flares and held banners reading “rest in joy/Alfredo Bonanno/1937-2023” and “Hurry to attack capital before a new ideology makes it sacred to you… Hurry to play. Hurry to arm yourself” – Alfredo M. Bonanno”, a shortened version of one of our favorite quotes of his.

South London ,UK : January Tuesday 2nd Black Threads #5 : The End of Anarchism? Luigi Galleani At Touch Paper Anarchist Library

Black Threads #5

In this series of discussions we will go back into the heritage of anarchism to look at specific written contributions to the theory and practice of attack, informal organisation and permanent revolt. Each week some extracts will be shared beforehand which can be read to prepare for the next discussion or not. Each discussion will start with a presentation of the book.

“We are living in times of ‘crisis’ and this often leads comrades down the blind alley of pragmatism and compromise, verging on political realism […] Galleani repudiates in total any struggle for partial gains or reforms, ‘the ballast of the bourgeousie’ that the latter throws out under the violent pressure of the masses […] ‘Instead of the mere passive and polite resistance so fervently recommended by the socialists, the anarchists prefer boycott, sabotage, and, for the sake of the struggle itself, immediate attempts at partial expropriation, individual rebellion and insurrection.’”

Kos island ,Greece: Stop the genocide of the people of Gaza and the Apartheid regime. There is no peace without justice. Free Palestine.

On Saturday 9/12 in the central square of Kos, a solidarity action was held against the genocide of the people of Gaza by the murderous state of Israel. The people who participated distributed texts, held placards, shouted loud slogans against the genocide. No justification for the crimes of the occupying state of Israel to the Palestinian people. No support and involvement of our country in the plans of the fascist state of Israel and America. Stop the genocide of the people of Gaza and the Apartheid regime. There is no peace without justice. Free Palestine.

Poster: Stop the massacres!

Poster seen on the walls of Paris (France) and Brussels (Belgium), November 2023.

Once again, war ignites the Palestine-Israel region. A wave of coordinated attacks by Hamas has unleashed a full-scale military operation by the Israeli army. Cold-blooded murder and hostage-taking have been followed by the bombing of entire cities, famine and the deportation of millions of people.

Hamas and Israel. Two regimes with bloodstained hands, which is undeniable. Two military powers that strike indiscriminately. Two authorities who use terror to try to conquer or preserve power – rather like all States, including our own, which do not hesitate to lock up and crush rebels with their laws.

When we think of Palestine, don’t let’s forget ENI

From the Instagram profile of the Young Palestinians in Italy:

In the 2000s the discovery of large natural gas deposits in the eastern Mediterranean area has allowed the zionist entity to reduce energy dependence from abroad and to become an exporter. The most important deposit, Leviathan, is located less than 200 kilometres from the coast of Palestine and Israel hopes that others will be found to increase the reserve and increment exportation to Europe, which since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war is looking for new energy sources. In this optic, on October 29th the minister of Israeli Energy, Israel Katz declared he has granted 12 licences to six companies for the exploration of natural gas off the Mediterranean coast to create more competition and diversify suppliers.

Alfredo M. Bonanno :July 1999 in Athens: i am here in this courtroom alongside my comrade Nikos Maziotis.

July 1999 Athens

Gentlemen,

I am here in this courtroom alongside my comrade Nikos Maziotis. Both irreducible enemies of the State, both anarchists.

Looking around the world today, the State order dominates almost everywhere and its order is that of death and destruction. The recent events of the war in Serbia and Kosovo testify to this perfectly. Whatever the State does, even when it tries to hide behind a humanitarian façade, it results in death and destruction.

But the State is not an abstraction, it is not an empty word, but a very concrete thing. The State is constituted of men and things, by capital that realizes exploitation, which keeps millions of people under its control in order to secure profits on investment, an immense administrative and military apparatus that governs, manages and kills on a daily basis.

Greece: The 2024 Agenda of the Solidarity Fund for Imprisoned and Persecuted Fighters has been released

The 2024 Agenda of the Solidarity Fund for Imprisoned and Persecuted Fighters has been released

We have chosen to focus on the four years following 2008, judging that they present a qualitatively coherent structure in terms of a new cycle of political developments, of which 2009 was an explosive prelude. The four-year period 2009-2012 unfolds in the wake of the largest violent social explosion during the post-colonial period, on the occasion of the murder of the anarchist student, Alexandros Grigoropoulos, in December 2008 and while the country had already begun to sink into the first eddies of the global economic crisis that broke out in September 2008, with the collapse of the 4th largest US financial giant. These two peculiarities were to be a ticking time bomb for the already fragile climate of that time, causing social competition to explode to unprecedented levels through a veritable armageddon of developments.
